So here's my guess: Perhaps the page counting logic goes sideways when you move a post to a different thread? Perhaps the system is tracking "highest post count this thread has seen" rather than "post count in the thread right now"?
Should be easy to test...
For example, you could move the post I requested be moved to the Audi thread.
Looking into this, apparently it's a known issue. Can happen when posts are moved or deleted and the post count in the thread is not yet updated. Seeing how it doesn't actually affect functionality, please ignore it.
I've noticed a few threads that I can't get to when logged in, but when not they load fine. (the WA state HOV bill thread being one of them, forget what the other one is now)
The Model S page says 3 pages ... when viewing the thread it says 3 pages.. When viewing page 2, it says showing items 41-80 ... but there's only 74 items showing .. and when I click page 3, it just brings me to page 2 again (the *link* is indeed /page3 but it redirects to /page2) ...
This is with my settings at 40 posts per page.
I set it to 30PP and I see exactly 3 pages (but still reads 61-83 of 83 even tho last post is 74)
And at 20PP it messes up again (mathematically makes sense)
