NYT Roadster sport review

I just noticed in that NYT article that the HPC is $1,950. Lower from the original $3,000 price.

I checked on the Tesla Motors website and it was an accurate price. When did this happen? New? If it had been that price back in early 2009 I am sure a lot more people would have purchased it.

My memory might be playing tricks on me, but I seem to recall Elon Musk commenting on the high price of the charger, and that they had plans for a lower priced charger.

Was it in a Town Hall a while back?

The main reason I don't get the current version of the HPC is because it will be obsolete within a year or two. They will be switching all EVs to the J1772 connector. The Model S will use that new standard. There will be a future HPC on the J1772 standard.

I am hopeful that they design a fix for the Tesla Roadster to use J1772 recharging stations.

So I will get a future HPC for my Model S from Tesla. The goal is for that HPC to be used on both of my Teslas.
