Many of the I-Pace standard features were not available in my 2013 Model S. Curious to see what is under the front hood. Range of up to 234 miles @ 90 kWh.

Today is my 10-year anniversary on TMC. It will be 4 years in March that I have had my S60. Thanks to all the members who have posted valuable information to enrich my Model S experience.

Update on the VW EV. Will be powered by a 125 kWh battery with range up to 373 miles (400km-600km). Launch now scheduled for 2020 with full autonomy by 2025.

+ 1 Also, other manufacturers are bound to put out models of their own with 200+ mile range. 300+ range will set Tesla apart and look more appealing to consumers making choices strictly on max range, though not in the Model S/X price point.

Few of the experimental battery tech seems to pan out. Lithium-Air was promising but the cells cannot be recharged. A 200 kWh would be the ICE's asteroid.

Volvo makes good cars. They've been in our family for almost 2 decades and have been very reliable. An all electric S80 with 200+ mile range and all the safety features would compete with and in many instances, complement Model 3. Would require a charging network.

Have been charging my MS 60 on 120V for 3 years now. During the summer months the family takes trips and we use superchargers or the NEMA 14-50 plug at campgrounds. Have not range charged in over 7 months; but am quite certain the 60 kWh battery will still top off at or near 200 miles.

Could be upper management egos that think they can build a better battery and product. Some of these companies do have a lot in the technology area. It is possible they feel EVs are a passing fad, which was also said of digital cameras years ago.

Also have the original visors (March 2013). They are not very functional, particularly when driving west in the late afternoon.

Model S reveal was March 26, 2009 on a Thursday Model X reveal was February 9, 2012. Also Thursday. March 31, 2016 is a Thursday and also allows Tesla to stick to a March reveal date.

Looks as if the battery pack is influenced by TM's design. The concept is described as having a 101-kWh flat, under-body mounted battery that can deliver 300 miles EPA. Would be great if VW could bring such a vehicle to production.

AWD and a larger capacity battery. GPS without the tech package. Will try to reserve on day 1. Definitely need AWD. My MS 60 does not perform well in snow and ice. It is a great vehicle; but skidding on snow is not what one would expect. Therefore, an M3 AWD with 500 "real world" mile range.

Thanks for the suggestion. Woodbridge is 28 miles south from where we are in VA. Will be using the Metro to get around over the next few days and will see what other charging options are available for the return trip. May just tough it out at the Bethesda SC one night.
