First week with my Model S

After driving from SC to FL I picked up my 2013 MS60 and driving it 2,748.4 miles its been a dream. My 05 Prius was being over worked driving around 300 miles per day. At 261k miles I felt it was time to upgrade. And an upgrade I got. Just the lack of noise while driving was worth it. The few odd things about the car are not bothersome as of yet.

My son turns on his dome light. Which all I can do is leave it on or turn on all dome lights the turn them back off. Individual control from the main screen would be nice

Tech Package: The nav is nice my biggest complaint is it doesn't show the exit number in the listed directions, it does show it in smaller screen when you get about 1-.5 miles from it. The full keyless entry is the ONLY reason I wanted Tech Package, but its worth it!!

Supercharger access: DO IT. Charging is a breeze and You'll meet other owners and have a good time. Most are friendly. I saw a few P85+ that made me jealous but I don't need one,and one Signature. Even non Tesla owners take notice and ask questions.

Cup Holders: Superchargers for long trips but no cup holders!!!!! WHY!!?!???!! I used a Mickey Ds cup holder and it works well sitting in where the yacht floor would go. But a CCI would be ideal although it is nice to just drop things down there.

Parking sensors/ rear camera: When I got my LEAF the rear camera was nice to have (guidelines helped too!). The MS camera is better, more crisp. The main reasons for them, although the camera comes on all models is because this car is long and wide. One wheel has been decapitated already,I'll use it a a spare when I get a replacement.

Slacker radio: use it you'll love it. Need wheels on the bus in a pinch BOOM its there. Once kids are asleep rock out.It has it all.

That's it for now.

Yeah, well, that only works if you can remember the song's name, or artist. Maybe fixed in 6.0! "Play that song... the one I like... the one I'm thinking of!" :)

Congratulations! But I also vote for a picture. Would at least give us the colour; helps to re-live the first week feelings (which, of course, only get better and better).

Congrats on the new car!!

Just wanted to make sure you knew there were two cup holders under the arm rests in the middle of the car between the driver and passenger seats, in case your delivery specialist forgot to point them out. The arm rests slide back. Not the greatest, but better than a cardboard drink holder on the floor.

Thats what I'm use for now, I guess I'll have to get a CCI. My wife got in the car and the first thing she asked and complained about were the cup holders.

I think about this on most road trips. Hopefully in a software update. :) My eyes aren't the best, so whatever shows up on the small screen isn't super-helpful to me because it's so small (though how they try to replicate the exit signs is kinda cool).

@kendallpb yes the exit sign graphic is a nice touch.

I hope to do a video review. Even after watching reviews many times and reading on the car once you get one you see little things that make the experience.

EDIT: I also would like a fix for passengers you leave in the car. Like to run in the video store and grab a quick movie the car will shut off. I tried to put it in Neutral with the e-brake and key in it but it still shut off, my wife found if you open the door it'll turn the ac etc back on. A shutdown timer would be nice to help curb it.

@trigga71 to have the car stay "on" when you get out, put it in neutral not park, and manually enable the parking brake in the menus.

Then when you get back in just release the brake, go back into D, and drive off.

Oh - sorry - just saw that you already tried this. Weird.

@paulkva - Thanks touching the screen seems to work, from what my wife said.

There were taken last Friday. Went to North Carolina SC to get a new wheel. They had a few cars there.

That is the Lumberton supercharger. The service center had HPWC. Its on the back of the building, not sure if its use able after hours.

I like the 21in wheels but I'll get the CCI and paint protection first. Do the 19s and 21s use the same TPMS?
