I agree with Elon. In the case of the second fire the Model S saved the life to the people inside the cabin. And people inside the cabin of the Model S got out of the car without any injure.
Elon did an excellent job of providing some much-needed perspective during this interview, I'm hoping he gets out in front of cameras more often to debunk the criticism a bit more...
Um-no.
This will be carved on the medal they´ll find one day.
Same lax reality distorsion field as in the Clooney case.
He cannot get away with statistics vs. emotional insecurity on the customers front. This will be Elons Waterloo, if he doesn´t hire a proper PR team.
The cook must stay in his kitchen.
The Rockers togs says it all, thinking he doesn´t need the suit in this phase...
Ummmm now who's making goofy comparisons? If you had bothered to watch the video he made two points, 1) that the metaphor was a bad one and 2) the point was about media hype over facts. What he didn't say, either because he doesn't realize it or more likely that he doesn't want to emphasize it, is that there are deep pocketed interests that want to see Tesla fail and will push any story they can to undermine them any way they can.
The NHTSA test is 35mph frontal and the Model S got 5 stars on that, so 4x the KE of that would be 70mph (which is still insanely high for the roads he was in). I doubt it was top speed (unlikely for all the people to walk from such an accident). Elon's probably avoiding mentioning specific speed so as to not get the driver in trouble.
