how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

Absolutely incorrect. It is prerelease software. It requires monitoring and intervention. It is expected.

    Why didn't AEB Kick in

Automatic Emergency Braking Cybertruck is designed to determine the distance from detected objects. When a collision is considered unavoidable, Automatic Emergency Braking is designed to apply the brakes to reduce the vehicle's speed and therefore, the severity of the impact. The amount of speed...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

Okay, so how does the system determine which is correct? Lidar has absolutely no way to resolve this. And let me add which is correct "even if there's a 0.0001% chance of an obstacle" And you already said that the 2016 incident included radar.

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

That's a super easy one. Having a higher charge level reduces risk of having to charge during unexpected events. But's let just go to basic math. If I charge to 50% every day (150 miles available on a 300 mile battery) vs 80% (240 miles). But assuming 10 mile loss, the 80% charge becomes 232...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

So why would you expect that my cars have been able to drive so well on FSD, to the point where we use it most all of the time? Vs your experience where it doesn't appear that it can get out of the driveway. I must admit that my use may be a little unfair, FSD has literally drove me from the...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

Yes, let's throw away that data that could indicate a pedestrian on the road. It's probably just shadow braking. Really? Comparing a 2016 incident with today's FSD. There is absolutely no guarantee that it would have detected it. But as you just got finished saying, 2 of the 3 sources showed...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

For one, processing all of those sources takes a lot of compute power. And when the output of the "camera" gives at least the same as Lidar or radar, why use it. But the "cameras" give even more output, color, which tends to be very helpful for driving. The other sources just don't add...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

Believe as you may, but I'm pretty sure that the car would have correctly handled both cases. It takes time to learn to trust FSD, 100 miles is far from enough time.

    Autopilot vs FSD

I believe that EAP is no longer being sold. So you may not have the option in the future. And isn't really a "black box" It's simply another driver.

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

Absolutely! So how many miles lost in 1 year? 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? All these numbers are doing is adding FUD. OMG, I'm going to lose 10% range! That sounds terrible. But losing 45 of 330 miles after 10 years is no big deal.

    Autopilot vs FSD

There are different driving styles available in FSD today. Elon indicated that they are getting renamed. The basic rules for lane management seems be Don't drive in the right lane If in a lane and someone comes up behind you, move right to let them pass Change lanes if current speed is less...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

The easiest way to explain this could you drive better with additional data sources? Tesla got rid of radar because it added very little value and combining the two data sources is problematic. When two data sources disagree, how do you determine the correct one? Does it even make a...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

Yea, FSD doesn't have a memory. I hope that will be a priority soon. But that comes back to one of Elon's/Tesla's statements many years ago. Sure, Tesla can make the cross-country autonomous run as a few cars were doing. But that's not a general case. Tesla doesn't care about specific cases...

Because the specific need suggests that it could be an issue because it's the driver that wants it. You can't pair in the front, probably because of the stated issues, so some may try to cheat by pairing with the back.

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

Then generalize your numbers with actual miles. I'm pretty sure that people would worry more about 95,000 miles vs 100,000 miles. But do they care about 950,000 miles vs 1,000,000?? Or 285,000 vs 300,000 miles And sure, I may lose 10% over a year, but what are the number at 5 and 10 years?

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

Great, so it's a Geomeric layer and a Semantic layer. The Semantic Layer includes lane and road topology, traffic lights, traffic rules, etc. To make planning decisions. So listening thorough most of the video, the author ends up effectively suggesting that HD maps won't scale unless you build...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

I think there's a real disservice to HD map terminology when used to talk about Waymo or Cruise. Sure, they are HD maps, but I'm pretty sure that they are highly augmented with hints. Satellite systems can create the HD maps. I'm sorry, you can't say that the NN doesn't need the HD maps and...

    Autopilot vs FSD

FSD has had different iterations over the years. In the beginning, is was like Basic Autopilot and then it was like EAP. More specifically, Autopilot is basically an old version of FSD. And EAP was an old version that was often referred to a Navigate on Autopilot (NoP). V11 FSD does better at...

[Solved!] Cabin Overheat Protection not working when car sits

You evidently haven't driven a vehicle created in the last 40 years. Lots of those material issues are way behind us. And the problems you described were probably more caused by solar radiation then heat. AFAIK, the number of cracked leather or pleather for solar or heat purposes is probably...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

If it can drive without maps, then why does it need HD mapping? You seem to infer that one doesn't need the other, but yet one won't work without the other. If the NN works everywhere, then why do they need the safety drive test every time? That's because the NN absolutely requires HD mapping...

Question: Best OEM or equivalent Tires for Model 3? - 05/2025 -

There's a lot of options out there. The "Best Tire" is the one that fits your need. It's pretty much like "What's the best color Model 3" It's all personal opinion. What makes a tire best for you? Wear? Comfort? Handling? Cost? As with most things, you can optimize one or two of the...

    Music over headphones on Highland

    FSD experience

How does it freak out? And as I said, what does the car do if you roll the speed down? FSD made it through the dragon a few years ago on FSD. Both of my cars have no issues with cloverleaf exit ramps (and they don't read the yellow signs) I remember years ago coming into Orlando on the...

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

Not really sure of what your "use HD maps as a prior only" means. But if it takes months for Waymo or Cruise to learn a city, then there appears to be a LOT of HD information used somewhere. Or are you saying that their NNs are built for specific operating areas. not the general case?

"Read screen" or maybe rear screen. Just pair them on the rear screen. Be careful about driving with headphones on. There are legality issues.

    Autopilot vs FSD

I don't know why so many people are expecting FSD to be perfect. It's not! It's still prerelease. It still requires you to monitor and intervene.

how does the new end to end FSD work, need a block diagram from of data flow from the fleet to DoJO to an individual's car

What you are describing is similar to how the non-Tesla solutions do it. They use high-resolution mapping to guide the vehicles. For the automated Taxi companies, they spend months driving cars around a city to get all the information and put in the cars. And then most of them run the routes...

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

Definitely your opinion. It doesn't match with Tesla's statements of 300,000 mile and million-mile batteries along with reducing Service Centers by making the cars not need service. And as the Model 3s are nearly 7 years old and have shown no signs of even thinking about needing batteries...

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

Blah, blah, blah. Then why doesn't Tesla follow your recommendation? Assuming that your sources are so impeccable, I'm assuming that Tesla knows and that they now have enough real-life data to support it. And since there are third parties monitoring Tesla batteries, why aren't you using their...

But the car can't watch over you. It can't tell you that the Supercharger that you are headed to is out of service. It can't tell you that you may not make it to the stop and need to slow down. It can't put the car battery into preconditioning for charging. Navigation is FAR from the only thing...

Are all LFP chemistries exactly the same? Are all LFP battery form factors exactly the same? Are all LFP manufacturing process exactly the same? Since the answer to all of these are obviously no, then the physics ARE DIFFERENT!!! Are people storing their cars for 9 months? What is the loss...

    FSD experience

Why not? I've got exits posted at 70mph! I suspect that you are assuming that the car will crash. Odds are that if you gave it a chance, it will successfully navigate the turn. If it is a route that you take often, try rolling the speed down to what you feel is safe and see if it will then...

    Tell me about map updates

You seem to be assuming that the car should know the exact details of when the road it open and closed. It simply doesn't. (and rarely does even the DOT know) Did you look at any other routing applications? What did they say? The job of the nav system is to get you there. There will be times...

@Jangy may not be, but I certainly am! This appears to be an 8 year old article. There were big changes in auto EV batteries since then. And the Tesla LFP wasn't even on the drawing board, AFAIK. There are big differences between different batteries of the same technology. Manufacturers spend...
