Is this trim part normal looking?

You'll want to get that secured, it protects the bottom of the car. To date, no one has ever stolen catalytic converter from a Tesla. You don't want to be the first.

Looks like a fastener(s) fell out.

Clarification on EV parking and towing at businesses with free charging and no explicit restrictions

Yea that^^^. If I’m traveling and need a charge at my hotel I shouldn’t have to fight the non customers for a spot. I would add. Most parts of the country have a law that the tow sign must include where to get your car back. If that’s missing, it’s usually an empty threat.

Charging at home at 16 amps instead of 32

I tried and found the Be Ready At charging schedule is poor at best. Save yourself some frustration and set manual charging times. The OP may want to charge for an hour or more then use one of these to look for hot spots.

Elon Musk once mocked China’s BYD. Now it’s running circles around Tesla

BYD, a carmaker Musk once laughed at, overtook Tesla at the end of last year as the top seller of electric vehicles on the planet (Tesla overtook it in the first quarter of this year, but they’re neck and neck). And now it’s giving Toyota a run for its money, unveiling a new hybrid powertrain...

    Wall Charger DIY?

Stick with the Tesla wall charger. There isn’t much savings going with a 3rd party charger and you’ll loose some features. Installing a wall charger yourself is pretty simple. Make sure you buy the correct, or larger wire for your breaker size. I did mine in an afternoon including a 50’ pull...

    Battery scratch? Warranty still on?

All I see is a scratch on the plastic cover? If it worries you that much, replace the cover.

    Disable Automatic Trunk button

Not sure there is a way to do that, but I did buy some pipe insulation and tied it to the garage door vertically with zip ties. Now the trunk lid hits the soft insulation instead of the garage door.

Hacking Tesla Auto Park At Home | Will It Work?

Yea okay, don’t think I’ll be putting lines on my driveway any time soon.

Time to disable bluetooth as a key?

Tripled? I find that hard to believe. You must have had a claim(s). My California insurance (autos, home, plane) have pretty held the same. Auto down $400, house up $150, plane up $200. Not sure why auto went down other than the cars are a year older?

    Cant adjust my charging limit.

That's not right. Try adjusting it on the screen in the car.

Terrible service experience, why my 2023 Model S is a regrettable purchase

Florida does have a new car Lemon Law, but is pretty weak. The OP’s car is not unsafe to drive and its use is not impaired. There is a 30 consecutive day in shop law, but you have to put the shop on notice the clock is running. If they give the car back to you for one day, the clock starts...

Elon Musk Discussion - Tesla Brand Damage

Elon Musk says AI will take all our jobs https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/23/tech/elon-musk-ai-your-job/index.html “If you want to do a job that’s kinda like a hobby, you can do a job,” Musk said. “But otherwise, AI and the robots will provide any goods and services that you want.”

To Tesla.. Please make the Model S 2021+ retrofit for the motorized tilt screen available

How often is the screen angle changed to justify electric motors? What would the cost be per unit, $500?

    Is this safe to drive

Agree, the front wheel is not safe for driving. The rear wheel needs to be replaced. If your thinking about custom wheels, now is the time. I not an expert on the underside, I’ll let others comment.

    Tire Rotation Pattern?

That true if you have directional tires… Directional tires have arrows on the sidewall indicating direction of rotation. Does anyone have directional OEM tires?

Will 0.99% come to Model S?

    I don't even know what you're asking?
  20. fholbert

    Tire Rotation Pattern?

I completely X’ed my tires, it’s all wheel drive. No issues. Not what Tesla says to do. Who knows more about tires, Tesla or Michelin?
  21. fholbert

Why did my Tesla say “I call shotgun” while I was driving? Is it some Easter Egg? Has anyone else had this happen?

Don’t think we’ll get that in the US. We drive in the left seat.
  22. fholbert

    Tire Rotration Pattern.

    I’m no expert but I X my tires. I’m assuming you’re AWD?
  23. fholbert

Is it time to dump and run?

I fail to understand how poor management is a liberal / conservative issue. I do think Tesla has peaked, while Musk isn’t the only reason he’s one of the reasons.

    Auto Shift

What happens when you think it's going to back-up, but it goes forward? I'll stick with the old fashion way, seems a lot simpler.

    Blue vs White Paint

Dark colored cars look really good right after you wash them. The other 6 days of the week they look like crap. Years ago I had a dark blue car, even lint from the towel I used to dry the car would show up on the clean car. Where as, a white car still looks clean 2 weeks after it’s washed.

What’s the point if I have to tug the wheel every 10 seconds?

For gods sake, it's a 5,000+ pound vehicle traveling at 100 feet per second. Keep your hand(s) on the wheel.

There is a data limit on the outside Cameras

No data limit when driving, it's not sent to Tesla. If you're looking at the camera's remotely there is a limit, but I don't think that's your question. That's how I do it. Not sure my MY even has mirrors... ;)

This day in 2020 (15th May)

I was scheduled to start a new job 1st day of the lockdown. I asked my new employer if they wanted to delay my start date a week or two until this Covid thing is over… Lockdown day 1. Drove to the office to pick up my laptop where one person was waiting for me. It was like the freeway was...

    Bought a Model 3 from a 3rd Party Seller

My opinion: You bought a used car. When a tire is damaged the owner may not be able to secure a matching tire. If you want like new, buy a new car. LOL - I'm a big fan of round tires.

Is the Tesla car or app causing phone problems in the house?

I sure don't think so, the car is just another cell phone. First I've heard this complaint. I also have a 2023 MY.

What car settings are needed for using SuperChargers?

Sounds like you're good to go! As the Supercharger approaches your charge limit it slows down. For a faster charge you may want to increase you charge limit beyond what you need, then manually stop it when the desired charge is reached.
  37. fholbert

What car settings are needed for using SuperChargers?

If you plan on taking a trip recommend you do a test charge at a local SC. 1.) So you're convertible with it. 2.) A few people home charge fine, but when they got to a SC it didn't work due to a failed part.
  38. fholbert

What car settings are needed for using SuperChargers?

Assuming Tesla has your charge card on file, nothing. The Supercharger bypasses most of your settings. The one setting that may need to be changed is % to charge.

This is insane, this needs to stop, another Hyundai stolen by teenagers

That’s a later year model, it didn’t have the “easy to steal” issue. Assume the driver had the fob or the technology to hack the car. Gotta give the car credit, it took a licking and kept on ticking. A Tesla would have shut down on the first impact. Why do they hide the face of the bad guy?

Abrupt Phantom Breaking at high speed - scary

It's called FSD Supervised, you should drive watching the road, hand of the steering wheel and a foot ready to press the brake or accelerator at all times. The fact that you went from 80 MPH to 40 MPH without taking corrective action speaks volumes, you're the driver. No need to turn off auto...
