Powerwall 3 calibration in process, what is this?

Yes, you save a lot of money going with Tesla, but you have to be your own project manager to ensure things keep moving along :)

    Slate style Tesla Roof?

Solar roof was an option when I priced my install out in 2022. It was 100% more expensive than panels. I could not justify the added cost. There is the added benefit of a lifetime roof, but I could install two metal lifetime roofs + panels for the cost of the solar roof.

Tesla Solar Roof cancelled during design phase with no explanation

The same happened to my area, after my install was complete. Mostly because Tesla had such a hard time with my utility, and they (Tesla) spent six months negotiating what equipment they could use (I ended up with the prior gen inverters versus PW+ inverters). Tesla's solar site now lists a...

    24.4.0 Gateway crashes

Any way you can hard wire an ethernet connection to your gateway? That solved pretty much all of my sporadic network connectivity issues.

Constant Grid Power Usage Despite plenty of Solar and/or Powerwall Power to cover home load

What I got from this: when I contact support, I should put in my ticket 'please assign to Andrea'. :)

Contact for following up on Tesla Order?

Easiest way is to use tesla.com/solar and input your address. It will tell you if there are Tesla installers, contract installers or no installers. That's for purchasing through Tesla directly though, it will not show local installers who have chosen not to partner with Tesla install but sell...

This is why I went solar...

Oh yes, switched out all my bulbs to LED long before going solar. I was in electricity cost cutting mode prior to solar. I'd even charge my kids a quarter whenever they left the lights on in their rooms. I'd tell them 'if you are leaving them on, you are going to help me pay the bill'. In...

This is why I went solar...

My cars are all paid off, so that makes justification for an EV that much more difficult. Even the cheapest EV is still in the $30k range. The monthly payment would nullify any additional savings.

This is why I went solar...

I wish my usage had gone down 25%! Probably closer to the opposite. My wife now thinks we have free energy (which was mostly my fault when we discussed and made the decision to purchase solar), so the thermostat temp has gone down several degrees. My kids that are still living at home are all...

    System down - production compensation

    New Powerwall Install not charging

Something is definitely wrong, as it is extremely unlikely that your house has zero usage.

This is why I went solar...

Before solar, I'd typically use about 1,800kWh from my utility per month. Now, almost two years with solar, the total grid power I have imported is 1,332. While I'd love to see more negative bills, having an electricity bill of $0.50 is, well, not priceless, but almost. I think my utility...

    Powerwall 2 Off grid clarification

I imagine that even if you don't get credit for sending power back to the grid, it may be better to send it anyways instead of sending freq changes and shutting down the inverters several times during the day. Maybe I'm just timid about forcing something to shut down. Then there's the case...

    Possible Hardware Issue?

I'm thinking 'Inverter/battery info (/system_status)' would provide error codes.

    System down - production compensation

Same boat. I at least check daily, always curious how much production the day had and look for anomalies.
