Trunk lid when opened?

Does anyone know specifics on this dimension? It looks like it is higher than the Model S hatch when opened. That would be a shame as my Model S hatch almost touches the open garage door.

It's not an issue, your can set the opening height of the liftgate (if powered) at your convenience.

I have the same and related questions:

Does the trunk open to any level and stay there? I.e. it doesn’t “pop all the way open manually” when opened? From pics, it seems quite tall when fully open and would seem to hit my opened garage door. So, if I manually open it to half height, does it stay there until I shut it?

It opens really high. I didn’t see any ability to limit it.

There are two hand holds under the lid to pull it down.

The image showing the screen shows the curve of the inside of the opened trunk lid.

Those pictures illustrate my concern. My S hatch comes very close to the open garage door. Hopefully the pictures are misleading.

No time to make a measurement but I have both an S and a 3. The 3 when fully open is nowhere near as high as the S is.

The top of the Model 3 trunk when fully open is about 6' 2" high. The Model S lift gate goes 6" or so higher than that (it's hard to measure the Model S, since you can't really see the highest point when standing close).

Got my Model 3 today and measured the trunk opening to 197 cm height from pavement. That’s 77 and a half inch.

That's higher than I measured, but still definitely less than the S.

And to be clear, it won’t stay “half opened”? It’s manual, so once you start opening it, it will open all the way up once it passes a certain point? Ugh, I guess that’s hard to explain, and I’ll just wait til I get the darn car!!! Hurry Tesla, assign me a VIN and deliver it!
