Smart CEOs dont talk about politics publicly and you rarely hear about their personal comments about anything other than the Business that they are responsible for. They understand by doing so can hurt the brand.

Your comments are spot on. Speaking as a retired head of a small police agency I was taught (and learned) that voicing my views on subjects not directly related to my responsibilities was a losing proposition.

Elon is not even playing zero-dimensional chess. Then he would at least have a point.
