Didn't I read that for the Model 3s, they were losing up to 10% of their capacity in the first year or so then leveling off? If that's true, then this Roadster 3.0 performance seems in line with that, if not a bit better.
The original bag mentioned by @Retiredeh indeed can be hung on the wall, @gregd . That's exactly what I did with the bag in my garage. In the winter it had nothing in it as the painted hard top was on the vehicle and the soft top was in the trunk. When I got the Visium hard top, the original...
I had @Medlock&Sons install carbon sills on #609. They looked good and were more robust than the OEM ones, which were cracked. Haven't interacted with them in a couple years, so don't know where they are on them, but might be worth reaching out.
Not to take this discussion off track, but do NOT buy from QC Charge. We did a bulk buy with them for JdeMO adapters and they largely failed to produce the items. Tony Williams , the owner, took $1000 deposits from most everyone, including me, and has largely refused to return the $1k despite...
I've always had good luck with Plugshare. You can filter by connector, as there are a few Roadster connectors still such as the one in Centralia, WA, at the Burgerville. Full 80 amps and great burgers and ice cream sandwiches! You can also filter by power amount delivered, but there your luck...
that's pretty crappy that Tesla would block things like that. I wonder if Henry could make some change to the CAN connectors to get them to work again?
I'll bet it's owned by someone who has either died or is in care and cannot manage their own affairs. Will be interesting to see which Roadster collector gets that one!
Anything on battery design and configuration? Seems that’s what the community needs: someone willing to build batteries.
Glad they finally did this. I think many of us have been suggesting this for years.
You may want to check out this thread. While I don't recall mine doing speed, it was a good setup. I've since parted with the car to @Retiredeh, so don't know how the stereo install is holding up. Alpine ILX-207. I also considered the Alpine ILX-650, which also fits. Instead of the Alpine...
Welcome, @glob1971! There are some really smart people on here that can make recommendations regarding what to look for in the electronics screens. I’m not one of them, but poke around the forum in different threads and you’ll find much of that advice. There are also a couple of guys here...
True on the crowding, @ImScotty. My idea was more because of the pre-existing arrangement they have with Target and the proximity to the freeway. But frankly, any location between Silverdale and Poulsbo would be good so long as it's closer to Highway 3.
Was by there tonight and was quite surprised. Pedestals are up, although there are still piles of dirt too.
I always thought that the Target in Silverdale should be the next location on the Peninsula. Nicely in between Port Angeles and Tacoma Suoerchargers. Tesla has an existing arrangement...
I spoke with him on March 27. In that call he informed me that he had decided not to produce them, either the CHAdeMO version or the CCS version. Hell, with Tesla opening up its chargers as the North American Charging Standard, he could even do that. But it doesn't sound like it's going to...
That's a great report, @Roadster . You mentioned that you spoke with Tony about the ABB issue. Next time you speak with him, perhaps I could trouble you to ask him when he's going to refund the deposits of the 15 or so people who ordered JdeMOs from him that he decided he was not going to...
Plugshare implies one needs an account, but my recollection is that one can skip that and still use it. You get some additional features like saving drives and the like if one has an account. And yes, the interface can be a bit clunky. But I find that with A Better Route Planner as well.
I would use both Plugshare and A Better Route Planner. They both have excellent trip planners where you can input features of your car, battery degradation, state of charge, and the like to get a real world range estimate. ABRP has the best trip planner. Plugshare, however, has the best...
What about just lifting it up and putting the wheels on dollies?

I had work done on three separate Teslas at EuroPro in Gaithersburg, including my Roadster. They were easy to work with and I was very happy with the job they did. Now I must warn you that they are not fans of working on Teslas anymore as they got jerked around by Tesla on parts availability...
Looks like the coating that's put over the clear plastic to reduce heat and visible light transmission is separating from the plastic hard top. I would reach out to the company at [email protected] .
Yeah, that was me making the misstatement. And @gregd, you are right, my brain was confusing my old 2015 Model S with dual inverters, which would charge at 80 amps, with my Roadster that indeed only charged at 70.
Sorry for the confusion, folks.
I think they also have some arrangement with Target as this is not the only place that Superchargers are at Target. Target's off the freeway, so the Supercharger is necessarily off the freeway. Might have been the least expensive option for them in the area given an arrangement with Target.
Realize I never provided an update to this. While I do think the antenna we had or the antenna wire may have been a problem (antenna was replaced by Carl), Carl’s sun diagnosed that some of the static and reception problem was due to the LED headlights we installed. I prchased some ferrite...
For Lion batteries, typically you cannot charge them below freezing (32F/0C). You can discharge them, but not charge. If you're in a warm climate, no worries. But if you'll be driving it below freezing, you'll want to wire a heating mat to warm the battery up for charging. The link you sent...
Or, as they install new stations, change the design to make more of them pull through. That way they are serving both segments and spending no additional resources (although, I guess, they might have to have more real estate in some cases).
Here’s hoping Tesla starts building more pull-through that can accommodate a trailer, particularly since they are eventually releasing the Cybertruck. 🤞
While Megachargers will be designed for trucks, one wonders if they will outfit them to accommodate standard Supercharging for those with...
CNBC did a new video on Medlock's shop as part of a short article on the need for 3rd party EV shops as the market grows..
What it takes to run an electric vehicle shop.
Note that I couldn't figure out a way to embed the video, so anyone with more time to find the source video, have at it!
Cannot speak for @Frisco-Dad, but for #609, it cost me $1995 to ship enclosed from DC to Seattle area. I don't recall how much it cost me to ship from San Francisco to DC, but I think it was similar.
Yeah, depending upon the Service Center, some won't work on them at all, some require it to be disconnected before working on the car, and some don't sweat it at all.
It's really an ingenious design though using the vehicles regen braking cycle to allow DC charging. Tony is clearly a very...
I do not. I was always under the impression that QC was the only mass-market kit. QC had quick manufacturing them for Roadsters due to the lack of interest from the community. They kept making them for the Rav4 as more of them were interested. It was only when I got a group buy together that...
It is really bad. The deposit for each of the 12 people was $1,000 for a total to Tony of $12k. Wouldn't surprise me if he used the funds to offset the move costs. They're excuse now is "supply chain problem," but there were no supply chain problems when we ordered. And if that was the case...
