I believe both the Ala Moana and IMP stores are high traffic stores. That being said, from a cost standpoint, it doesn't seem to make sense to have two stores so close to each other so I'd guess that one of the two stores will probably close.

If I recall, that was announced in conjunction with Tesla encouraging people to order just in case there were cancellations, inventory vehicles and demo vehicles so I took it to mean they would refund you deposit if you ordered then..... but you could be right. But it wouldn't hurt to ask...

Could be that your original car is still sitting at a dick awaiting shipment here whereas the car they assigned you is here or at least on its way. I was told that my original assigned car is scheduled to be here on the 27th whereas the new assigned car is now here.

My $1000 deposit is shown in my worksheet. I've heard others who are in your situation that somehow the reservation was not recognized when ordering and in that case, the recommendation was to ask for a refund. You might want to contact customer service to see the best course of action.

Don’t think that will happen in the case of the tax credit as there would be to many people involved. That would be a fraudulent action on Tesla’s part but someone claiming the full credit knowing that the paperwork is back dated would also be committing fraud.

The destination fee is $1200 regardless of where in the US it is shipped to. If you pick up at Fremont, you still pay the $1200 fee. Actual cost to ship a vehicle to Honolulu is on the order of $900.

Sorry but I’m really not sure of the exact logistics as to whether or not they transport by rail or truck to the ship and place in containers or not. I know at least one shipping company places private autos in containers for shipment but I’m not sure if Tesla uses them. Wish I knew more.

Actually 5+ weeks seems quite long. Container ships leave Oakland which is close to a Fremont 2x per week and take between 5-7 days to reach Hawaii.
