I just got a Model S plaid and ordered the $250 floor liners. I loved the added floor liners on my Model 3. The new ones came yesterday and I have them in the S. Fit is perfect. They are a lot harder material but feel great so far. Plus, they will protect the rest of the car when/if I spill my...
I took a long drive to get the denominator up (miles driven) and had to do a 'both scroll wheel' reset (while driving) because my wipers were on for no apparent reason. It fixed that issue but I then noticed it didn't count the drive in the safety score. Is that because I lost connection while...
Unsafe following doesn't count if you are on autopilot. It is the percent time you are 1-3 seconds behind the lead car minus the time you are within 1 second. Not easy, but can be changed.
In 2016 I picked up my first Tesla at the factory in Fremont. Drove it home to Illinois over the next week. No previous experience except a test drive. I highly recommend just jumping in and driving!
I ordered a plaid the day after the reveal. Much guilt ensued about spending 50K for speed I didn't really need. However I would get the car by end of June! Ultimately decided to change to LR and now I have to wait until October.
I was in Ireland last week and saw the northbound supercharger. Great to hear it is working. I was in a bus and in a car a lot around the country. Never saw a Tesla. How many of you are there?
Only 34 kW on 4A today. Moved to 3A and got 44 kW. Called Tesla and was told everything looked normal on their end. SOC was 40% and the battery wasn't cold.
I think #1 and #2 are proving correct. I had to drive my wife's ICE on my trip to Ames last weekend. Turned out we had to park in a muddy field - glad my science car didn't get dirty!
Went here yesterday. Drive up the 3 flights and find three model S and one X filling the 4 available spots. Great to see they are being used but bummed I was shut out. First time in my 5 weeks of owning including a California to Midwest trip.
Here in Champaign (Illinois motto - we still play football!) there is a SC ~5 miles from campus. I'll check this weekend to see if anyone uses it after the game. There are 2 J1772 chargers in one of the paid lots (lot 32 north central spot)

Just ate at the Steak 'n Shake. Worst. Service. Ever. I'm from Champaign Urbana, the home of Steak n Shake. I'm embarrassed. 3/4 of tables not bussed. Had to wait to be seated. 2 other groups in the restaurant. Had to wait to pay while 6 workers ignored me. Tesla should move the supercharger.
Thanks all. I'm thinking of skipping the valley and going north from 120 to 108 then up 395 to 80. Avoids the valley and unsure charging, gets me safely from sc to sc and is 9 hours total instead of 12.
To clarify: Fremont to Manteca supercharger to Yosemite valley and hopefully a charge to Hawthorne supercharger (in Nevada) to lovelock supercharger to Winnemucca. 12 hour trip.
[Apologies if this has been answered but a cursory search didn't find anything] [Apologies as I posted this on the Tesla forum as well] I will be picking up my 75D with Pano roof and high amp charger at the factory in Fremont Saturday 8/6. We will be driving back to Illinois. First overnight...
My car is ready and they will hold it at the factory for a pickup 8/6 with a tour. Then a 5 day drive back to Illinois.
My family is coming to the first part of the trip. Will they allow 5 adults on the tour? It says limit 4. How strict is that?
Confirmed 7/7
VIN 7/7
Entered production 7/25
Spreadsheet updated
IF they can hold my car at the factory I am flying there Saturday August 6th for a tour and pick up. I would then drive back to Illinois via Mammoth Lake, Moab, Estes Park and then home on the flat land.
If not I will get the...
Just got an email from my DS. "Expecting to go into production in the next 1-2 weeks". @jelloslug what is the wording of your page now that its changed? Mine says 'entered the factory production queue' What does it say when it has actually entered production?
Actually Illinois will charge the difference if I don't pay as much in Cali as I do in Illinois. Cali is a greater tax rate so no illinois tax. Still more but at least not double.
I confirmed this early AM and got my VIN assigned about 5AM. Had a DS then changed to another. Hope I get a production date soon - I want to plan a trip to Fremont to pick it up and drive back to Illinois.
