Does FSD is is tied to the used car ?

FSD stays with the car. Can't be transferred except for two brief periods in time, where the owner had to keep the car until FSD was transferred (and removed from the current car), or traded in to Tesla.

    AS-1 Line Tint

I just got that done today, so haven't tried it out yet in the sun. However, I'm sure it will help because I got the whole windshield done in 70% and the strip done in 20%, making the strip equivalent to 14%.

I bet there's nothing wrong with the way the tires are mounted. I've had non-directional, non-symmetrical tires mounted to where I can't see the date stamps on all of them.

new Tesla Model 3 18" Photon Wheels - load rating?

They will sell you the wheels individually, but for a high price. I already asked and got a quote for the price of the newer 18" aero wheels and the newest 18" photon wheels. I forgot what they quoted me and didn't save a record of it, but it was something like $450 per wheel for the photon...

new Tesla Model 3 18" Photon Wheels - load rating?

As far as I know from the specs listed in the owner's manual, they are exactly the same except that the new wheels have an offset of +38mm vs the old standard wheels at +40mm. Negligible difference that makes them stick outside more by 2mm. Tesla is probably just simplifying the compatibility...

Model Y induction rims on Model 3.

This is what it would look like with OEM Model Y induction wheels and tires. Front would rub unless you put in about 17mm or 18mm spacer. You'd need 255/30R20 tires.

how come my gen 1 model 3 horn does not work when it is raining?

Water likely made its way into the horn opening and the metal disc that vibrates to make sound has corrosion. The age being moist from raining or actual water getting inside probably keeps it from working correctly. I've opened one of mine with this issue and cleaned it up to get it working...

Why can't you order a new Model Y?

Tesla hides the new order page from the main Tesla.com page, but you can still get to the new order page by clicking on the menu button on the top right. Like others have mentioned, inventory cars are new cars and you can get them quicker.

    Heavy Steering

I also feel like my new 2023 Model Y LR AWD steering is really heavy compared to my 2018 Model 3 LR RWD. It even makes my left hand numb from gripping it (I usually only use 1 hand on the steering wheel). I have also not noticed a difference in effort between the 3 steering modes. I've...

Here's a picture of the stock 20" Induction wheel and tire next to a DRAG DR-83 18" x 8.5" ET30 wheel and 235/55R18 winter tire. You can see why the DRAG wheel is dual listed as 5x114.3 and 5x120, because it has two sets of lug holes. Also, the center caps are interchangeable between these...

Inappropriate Windshield Wipes Related to Windshield Pitting?

I just see this thread, but though I'd input my experience. Early 2018 Model 3, never had issues with auto wipers that I can remember. About 3 years ago when I started getting a lot of messages about AP being blinded by the sun. Cleaned the windshield in front of the cameras and noticed two...

Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

I've had 7 sets of tires (all Michelins of different kinds except for the Hankook Ion EVOs) and they usually last me 21k to 28k miles. The CrossClimate 2s were my longest lasting tires at 38k, and they mostly still have a very good amount of tread left. Only retired them because I had a...

Does Model 3 Refresh Come With Floor Mats?

Does the model 3 highland (refresh have a different bolt pattern than Previous model 3?

I haven't found any detailed info yet on anybody with a new Highland Model 3, but I don't see a reason why Tesla would change the bolt thread, size, bolt circle diameter, and center bore size from the same specs as they have always used for the Model 3 and Y.

Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

I drove CrossClimate 2s for 38k miles before retiring them and switching to Hankook Ion EVO AS tires. The CrossClimate 2s were great for all weather, including mud and rain. Didn't test them on snow because I use dedicated winter tires. They were just a bit noisier and not efficient. After I...

January 2024 Cold Snap 2021 Model 3 Completely Bricked

    Brake pads

Don't need any special tools for the rear pads, those just slide out. You just need a buddy to be in the driver's seat and either put the car in Tow Mode or shift into Neutral while you unplug the rear parking brake harness. This allows you to unbolt one or both of the bolts that hold the...

    Brake pads

I replaced my pads at 39 months (around 65,000 miles) because two of my pads were separating. Brake pads

There is no kit that I know of, and no need for one. All you need is a small brush to clean the pad backing plates and pins and sliding surfaces. Then some silicon grease to lightly lubricate just the parts that slide against each other. The only special tool you might need is a long pin...

January 2024 Cold Snap 2021 Model 3 Completely Bricked

Not likely. Also, the failure was probably just a matter of chance, and not at all related to the cold temperatures. Teslas have been around for more than a decade and in cold climates and areas without issue.

Range for connecting to M3 using app (e.g., to turn on climate)?

Actually, instead of flashing the lights try unlocking and then locking the car from the app first. Then if the car wakes up you can turn on the HVAC. I have the same issue once in a while where my car doesn't wake up and this sometimes works.

Range for connecting to M3 using app (e.g., to turn on climate)?

If your app doesn't connect to the car right away, try going into the Controls section and flashing the lights. Might have higher priority to wake up the car more quickly, then you can turn on the climate control.

What is the deal with Tesla's lag on auto frunk capabilities?

Tesla does not innovate on everything and does not always add all the bells and whistles that others do. Some of it might be to keep costs down, some because they don't think the feature is needed. There might be other reasons. The whole point of Model 3 was to be a basic car that was quick...

Suspension Replaced - Just the Beginning?

I would say that the need to replace so many suspension components early on is unusual. My 2018 Model 3 has over 142,000 miles and the only thing I've replaced on the suspension were the front upper control arms due to the ball joints getting water in them and mixing with the grease. That's...
