OK, I think there are 2 scenarios here? 1. Institution reaches out to share owner and asks if he wants to lend his shares. In original owner agrees, then it is as you described. 2. the 401K funds etc who manage shares do not reach out to share owners. But they do lend out shares to borrowers...

So if my shares are lent out by say Vanguard to someone who borrows to short it - i cannot vote on my shares?

The person borrowing the shares doesn't get dividends nor should he get voting rights. These should reside with the actual owner.

Even if BoD did not do its duty, the advantage was with shareholders at all times ….either Elon did not get paid a cent, or he grew the company to unheard of levels. Either way shareholders won.

Likely not the China numbers, but SP getting punished for the XAi cap raise. Market thinks Elon more thinly spread/focused on AI, and may over think that FSD and Optimus also now go to xAI. this needs to be digested. No FSD, Optimus not going to xAI. tesla likely will use Grok from xAI ...

How many companies want to invest Billions in AI, R&D and what have you, if there is a turnkey solution available? With turnkey solution, they just need to buy the hardware and Tesla Chips that go in the car, no need for GPU clusters, R&D, AI experts etc etc. If they gave up on SuC charging ....

took the lows of today to roll Jan 25 250s to Jan 26 400 for like $3.50 prem and then bought shares. Got we another 400 shares in piCC(gg)y bank travelling July, if SP dips, might not be able to sell jan 26 at 400 ... so OK with it (FOR NOW :) )

Mgmt has said slow growth (between 2 waves - M3/Y, and M2/Q), not zero growth. Past few mths narrative has been such that sales is negative. If trend follows 2023, based on the low bar, it is perceived as a win. Lot more weeks and quarters to go ..... but atleast China numbers not in like 4-5K...

You sell now because of possibility that SP goes down. If it goes up, you can always roll ad move the goal post. if you think SP is going to go up, then yes you don't sell ... but who knows where the winds blow ;)

I don't think he can take Optimus as well. There are patents etc that belong to Tesla, and Optimus basically runs on the FSD infrastructure. But Elon can take Elon, and some core set of hard core engg might follow suit. One moves at Hare speed, the other at Tortoise speed. Concept, NN, Visual...
