Nothing to worry about. It's probably just balancing the pack, which for a brand new pack probably needs it since it's never been cycled.
Also I'm sure you know this, but supercharging to 100% is super slow and a waste of time. I know the LFP battery says to charge to 100% once a week, but...
Doing a 12v on an early S is not fun, worth the money to have mobile take care of it. If it's a later or dual-motor S, DIY.
I concur, sounds like a 12v.
Hey all, I got these Tesla floor mats for free. They almost fit my 3, but not exactly, so I assume they're for a model Y (can't be sure, don't have a model Y to test them on).
I didn't bother to clean them or anything, but they should clean off fine.
In any case, thought I'd see if anyone...
I hope this isn't true. Tesla needs to be accelerating supercharger deployment for the NACS ramp. Which has been far and above the best selling point for Tesla to date.
I dunno, it makes sense to me...
I mean, image somebody brings in their new Tesla for a loud mysterious rattle. Pretty much a brand new car, covered under warranty right? Tesla verifies the issue, tears the car apart and finds a LEGO into an air vent. Tesla doesn't want to be in a position...
Personally I would guess that the smaller 2170 SR packs are going to have a higher rate of cell-imbalance failures, just due to the fact that fewer cells are being asked to do more work. Sort of like the old 14 module Legacy S/X packs had much higher degradation than the 16 module packs in the...
Peeling yoke should be covered under warranty.
Everything else are pretty tiny fixes which Tesla will normally covered as part of your 1 year 'user car' warranty, if not the actual normal vehicle warranty.
It's a bummer, but it's a used car and everything should be taken care of at the next...
This is what a charging curve looks like. It starts high and gradually decreases. What you are describing sounds like 100% normal charging behavior for most EVs.
As of 10 minutes ago....
Tesla unveils new Sport Seats to absorb Model S Plaid's insane power
So now the difference will be mechanical horn and sport seats.
BTW no plaid ever came with 4680s, only the CT and the short-lived 'structural pack' Y have them. No loss.
There was confusion because before it launched there were several erroneous news reports stating it was an LFP pack, and all other global markets get an LFP RWD Y.
I know 100%. It has been proven many times over. All US model Y RWDs at this time are software-locked 2170 packs, not LFP.
If you Google those alerts, you will see:
DI = drive inverter (rear)
DIS = drive inverter secondary (front)
Aside from being in limp-mode (expected), there is nothing about the front drive-unit in those alerts. Not sure where you're getting that.
DI = drive inverter, in the rear motor, which is reporting no communication with anything, and then it looks like some other systems which rely on information from the inverter are also angry.
Unfortunately this is probably not the sort of thing you'll be able to troubleshoot on your own...
19kw AC charging is an option for the Taycan, FYI.
19kw charging is just such a niche case in the US... Few cars can do it, few people want it, almost nobody needs it... I would rather the industry focus on large-scale deployment of cheap 6kw AC chargers. If someone has regular access to any EV...
Also I doubt you need a low-voltage battery. Those batteries discharge to the lowest safe level then disconnect themselves to prevent damage. They just need to be 'woken' up with a certain voltage or signal. It's very rare for them to go bad.
Probably not?? Likely the car is just getting older. In any case the seats/seatbelts are not removed during a battery replacement unless you have a structural pack, and the mechanisms are designed to handle your weight in a crash, so whatever you're experiencing doesn't have to do with the HV...
Love v12. The one thing I don't like is lack of turn signals on roundabouts. V11 was smooth and did all the signaling. Now it's even more smooth and confident, but no longer does any signals. I guess in the training data people don't signal in roundabouts.
Yes! 100% that sounds like a good plan. I think you'll have a good buffer and rarely, if ever need to supercharge.
As far as how much to offer the landlord, the Tesla app does have a screen you can use which shows how much you have charged at home. I pay an agreed upon rate each month per kwh...
You can do firmware reinstall with the battery disconnected with the vehicle on an external charger (provided it is powerful enough). If you have a lithium LV battery you will need to do a second firmware reinstall afterwards.
I always found it strange that people are obsessed with installing home chargers. Sure, they're convenient, but I have had no issues living with a simple 120v outlet for weeks at a time and I do 300-400 miles per week (model 3).
Point being if your landlord isn't keen on installing a dedicated...
Mismatch faults normally mean the car firmware can't recognize those components, like if they were replaced or the car died during a software update. I would try to reinstall your software first and see if any of those to away.
Haha... I know you're trying to help, but please don't mention what you read on a forum in your service ticket. I used to work as a professional mechanic and believe me, nothing is more irritating. By all means provide as much data as you can, but the professionals do not want to hear the...
I don't think it's nefarious or a conspiracy of some sort... I really think the media are just a struggling business model trying to sell people what they want in a competitive market. People naturally distrust new technology and are more likely to click on things that reaffirm their beliefs...
You have a bunch of different modules reporting MIA at the same time. That points to an issue with the communication network, either bad wiring somewhere or a bad module bringing down the whole network. Short of just magic guessing you are not going to be solve this one. I'd take it into Tesla...
I have a family member who is retired, owns a home with a driveway, drives 2(!) miles per day and takes an occasional weekend 100 miles round-trip. She considers herself environmentally conscious. She wants to buy a hybrid. Why would she, who is an absolute ideal candidate for an EV, which would...
How often do your take your car to the drag strip? How often do you autocross? If the answer is 'never', it's highly unlikely you'll notice. It's like .5 seconds 0-60 on the 3, which is a lighter car to begin with so it should have even less of an effect on a Y. I've driven both an SR 3 and an...
I dunno .. While a RWD LFP Y is unheard of here in the states, virtually every other market gets LFP RWD Ys. That config has probably been made in the hundreds of thousands. You're not going to be left on some abandoned branch of the Tesla tree or anything.
On topic: The LFP packs are totally bulletproof, great packs. You should definitely do it. Also you'll probably have the only LFP model Y in America. Like a double unicorn.
Off topic: I read somewhere that the early RWD Y existed, but I've never actually heard of anyone owning one... I always...
First go to the 'secret' service menu and see what all the alerts are (not just the user-facing alerts you see).
Could be a CAN-bus issue if multiple, seemingly unrelated components are failing at the same time. They could be on the same communication network.
HVIL simply checks if all the HV stuff is plugged in.
You have an HVIL fault.
Figure out what is not plugged in or what connector has broken HVIL pins. There is a good chance that damaged connector also damaged the receiving end.
There are wiring diagrams online.
Also, support your 12V...
I believe the CP fault will prevent you from charging but it won't prevent you from driving. The charge port can detect if the inside cover is on to prevent exposed high-power cables.
Google HVIL, it's common to all EVs. The HVIL fault is what's preventing you from driving. That connector you...
FWIW this is not too unusual for low duty-cycle motors. Your window motors will do the same thing if you try and roll the windows up and down too many times in a row.
Sorry, there is some misinformation here. You CANNOT use a regular j1772 adapter with the 80A ford power station pro. The power station pro uses the CCS DC fast charge pins for the vehicle-to-home capabilities.
I believe that some people have already tried using a CCS adapter with a Tesla and...
I know this was a theory, but I don't believe this was ever proven. There was a $1M prize for anyone who could replicate the Toyota issue, went unclaimed. There were various news reports which later turned out to have been staged. Do you have a link?
Every single case of this that has ever been properly investigated over the last 20 years has come to the same conclusion: driver panicked and was accidentally holding down the gas not the brake. It's such a sensational story, it makes the news every time, but there is just no way it could...
What year is your 3?
You're correct, body controller front and VC front are the same.
I have a friend who changed our a VC Front, IIRC you have to do a software reinstall, coolant pump ID routine and headlight calibration routine. All of these can be done from the screen in service mode. Don't...
To be fair, we're talking about a motor that was in the first desirable, high-performance EV ever, in history. Early, early days, when Tesla was figuring things out by trial, error and data collection. Current generations of motors and batteries easily meet or exceed the average '200k between...
Yea, the car is very likely going to notice if you start pulling power from the PCS output.
The large power bank w/inverter dea is a good one though! You will never overwhelm the 12V outlet but with that buffer you would always have the power available. Plus you could use it if there was a...
