    2022 MYLR - Steering Sensitivity

Also try adjusting your steering settings. Comfort - Standard - Sport. I find comfort to light, standard is my goto, sport is almost to stiff. Alignment also, worth a look. But setting changes take seconds.

    Texas heat

I have to say, my black 2003 Honda element sits right in front of my black tesla MY. When it's hot - both interiors are unbearable. In the Tesla, the ceramic Xpel XR (not just regular tint) has had a huge difference since I did it a few weeks ago. Seriously amazing, waynlre then I expected, and...

    Texas heat

It doesn't get that hot here in BC Canada. But I did Xpel 70% ceramic tint on front glass and windshield. No difference for the driver day or night... (See pic) But.. a huge difference in heat rejection. Cabin stays way cooler and even driving in direct sun - the sizzling heat is cut out. Super...

Is it necessary to order Front Grill Mesh prevent Inserts?

Luckily here in Vancouver it never gets to hot. Plus I can't fathom the micro mesh would alter airflow that negatively. Certainly not as much as the fins filled with gunk and wet leaf mess. Maybe in Cali or hot climates I'd have a different opinion. But then they probably deal with less muck...

Tinting front side windows only -- est. cost?

Just did mine here in Western Canada and with the windshield was only ~$500. Removal is super easy, I've done it on alot of cars since I was a kid. Just rip the plastic tint off, the glue will remain on the glass (sometimes some glue might come with the tint, heat gun can sometimes help keep the...

    Charging Error Alerts

I was also getting some strange errors for awhile when charging. Starting and stopping and restarting, not always charged fully for preconditioning time. Turned out I turned off the SSID wifi connection on my router that I had the wall charger connected to. Turned it back on in my routers app...

    DIY Eye Lids

I saw some posts here with eye brow/lid on the MY lights and thought it looked pretty slick. I was shocked to see how much retailers wanted for them. So I bought some automotive vinyl for 5 Bux and made my own. Took about 20 mins to do. I think it looks really slick. Hopefully they last and wear...

anyone try other manufacturers wheels on their MYP?

Do some searches on the forum. There are a ton of people running different sizes of rims, offsets, tires etc. Biggest thing I can say as a newbie to Tesla myself - weight! It's not like the old days where you can just pick up some used rims and throw them on. The Tesla's are heavy, so its a...

    I am debating selling/trading a Ford F150 for a Model Y. Am I missing anything?

Great choice! Love that they actually fit 4'x8' sheets without straps or sticking out of the bed. Not to mention the zillion other features. Yeah, it's gunna be rad.

    I am debating selling/trading a Ford F150 for a Model Y. Am I missing anything?

I'd agree with ewoodrick. I got rid of a Honda Element for a MY-LR 7 seater with hitch. Does everything and more. Just rent a trailer for randomness that doesn't fit. I love it. The Model Y is great, by far the most fun vehicle I've ever owned. Handles all weather, fits the kids and there...

Is it necessary to order Front Grill Mesh prevent Inserts?

Yeah it's law here, so had to modify the insert for it. I'd rather that then having holes in the bumper. I guess double sided taping it to the bumper may work. Anyway, anything to avoid being pulled over for a ticket. Pretty easy mod.

    handle

Ah gotcha. Good point, I didn't even notice there the lack of oh crap handles in the Tesla's. Ya that would need some proper customising by professionals if it's even feasible.

Is it necessary to order Front Grill Mesh prevent Inserts?

Reviving this old thread. Just installed this as we get alot of rain/leaves/muck. Plus I've eatin huge rocks in older cars and needed new AC and radiators due to rocks. Had to modify it for the screwless front license plate. Pretty easy to modify, glue gun to help secure mesh, scissors and...

    Heavy load options

Coil overs could be a good idea. Adjust up when working with heavy loads. Adjust back down when and if no big loads are needed for awhile. Takes some time, expect 20 mins a corner by the time you jack, adjust, measure - then repeat for each corner (I'd mark the coil over so you know your high &...

Tesla weatherproof mats vs third party

Tesla weatherproof mats vs third party

I went with the Tuxmat.. they are overkill, but with 2 kids, and Canadian winters hiking, snowboarding and generally hitting up logging roads... They're amazing. Full coverage, clean up easy, carpets and sidewall foot wells are in kokt condition underneath. Also did the 3Dmaxpider 7 seat trunk...

Good year tires pop Tesla y

Not sure which MY you have, but our MY 7 seat LR with hitch was popping tires like crazy when we first got the truck. It was the Continentals. I feel they are under spec'd tire. Even the service center runs out every winter and spring. So I upgraded to Nokian WRG4s and haven't popped a tire...

Help me decide on my next tires! (Michelin Cross Climate, Sport Pilot AS, Continental ExtremeContact DWS)

Honestly no difference in noise compared to the Continentals it came with. Or at least that I can tell. My other car with the BFG AT3's had a noticable difference, and are very noisy. But the Nokians have been great all around. First time I've ever owned Nokians, so far Way less then that...

Help me decide on my next tires! (Michelin Cross Climate, Sport Pilot AS, Continental ExtremeContact DWS)

Not on your list... But I love my Nokian WRG4! 3 Peak all weather rated. Proper weight and low rolling EV rated, Aramad sidewalls to avoid pothole blowouts and off road punctures. I love them, better then my Honda Elements BFG AT3's... Ok at least compatible.. especially for all weather tyres...

I’m scared to drive my new Tesla in the winter

Living in BC Canada, we get some snow, not interior Canada snow... typically more slushy and then freezes over night. Our MY 7 seater sucked with tires that came on the MY - beyond the amount of sidewall failures and snow/rain issues - they were total garbage honestly.. I changed to Nokian WRG...

    Window Tinting Vancouver BC Recommendation

I've seen a few posts on tint percentages and using xpel tint. But I'm looking for recommendations for a shop in Vancouver or GVRD that is reputable and fair price to get the work done? I'd prefer a referral from someone from the TMC, then just googling. On a side note as this is a health and...

    Model Y Windshield Haze

This was the same recommendation our glass guy said. He works on replacing house glazing, and I was having the fog issue as well so I asked his advice. We chatted and he swore by invisible glass and microfibre clothes. I went from cleaning the windows every two or three weeks to twice a year...

Michelin CC2, Vredestien Quatrac Pro, or Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail?

Sitting at about 15,000 km so far. Almost no wear. When I rotated them even the tire tech was shocked at well they're holding up. I'm not aggressive in my driving, but when the kids aren't in it with me, I definately push it a bit. So I figured I'd be seeing some extra wear. Also, because I use...

Michelin CC2, Vredestien Quatrac Pro, or Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail?

Nope non-directional. Easy rotations etc. I'm only about 15,000 KMs year round driven on them, but so far minimal wear, I'm a fairly soft driver and don't hammer it often. I heard the Nokian Hakka 5's are pretty good as well.

Michelin CC2, Vredestien Quatrac Pro, or Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail?

They definately do. I've got them on my MY right now. Here's some pics.. as mentioned I went 255/50r19 for a bit better ride and stronger sidewall. No noticable difference in mileage. Easily as quiet as the CC2's. Really good handling and can take abuse of bad roads, off road, pot holes you name it.

Michelin CC2, Vredestien Quatrac Pro, or Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail?

I'm all in on the Nokian WRG4. Survives harsh Canadian roads, great in snow, awesome.in rain, perfect for summer..all weather rating so they have 3 peak rating. I did 255/50r19 and it's zero rubbing on stock Gemini. I cant say what a great difference compared to contis. I used to rock BFG AT3 on...

    2023 M-Y Hatch water Ingress

I had this issue as well, we live in Vancouver BC Canada. The 4th Ave service department kept my MY-LR for 5 business days, but when I got the car back last fall, never had the issue since. So it's fixed. I appeared to be a silicone style fix behind panels, due to some silicone marks I had to...

Are 3D Maxpider Mats still the best choice?

I had a different experience with Tuxmat, fit great (Use the clips and push it in properly), 2 winter seasons with no bleed or wear, mud... You name it - wash clean and looks like new. Love the high sides, and overall coverage, especially with kids in the back. I didn't get the trunk liner from...

Gemini Tire replacement - anything better than OEM? (all season)

Hey, I'm new to the TMC. I found awesome all weather tyres w/3 peak mountain rating. The original tires that come with the MY are horrible. I blew through sidewalls on potholes, curbing, daily driving. 3 tires in 3 months. On the third one I decided to change all 4 tires. We loie in Canada, and...
