    Strange Phone Key behaviour

I had a similar problem that started in the past few days. I've now fixed it. PROBLEM WAS: I am able to unlock and enter my car with the phone in my pocket. But the car won't start, giving a message: "tap card key on console..." Instead, I opened the app on my phone and tapped the "start car"...

Brand new 03/23 build, window roll up and back down problem

Sorry for the silence. I had another service visit, and this time they removed and replaced the Driver Window Switch, and "applied hydrophobic coating to door windows". No recurrences since. But, previously, the recurrence was 11 months after a fix. I decided not to go through with arbitration...

FSD 12 perspective from a previous skeptic

I started my free trial on April 1. After my first drive, I thought it was a joke, but on later days, I changed my mind. I live in San Francisco, which has very trick local roads. In the city the car had some problems, but when I took a freeway trip, it did better. Some of the problems: 1. On...

Brand new 03/23 build, window roll up and back down problem

Update: yesterday, the day after my service center visit, once again the front passenger side window opened fully, on its own. I am sad, but not surprised, that the problem still occurs. I am very glad that it happened right away, so I can immediately follow-up. Last time the recurrence was 11...

Brand new 03/23 build, window roll up and back down problem

Thank you, JKad! How long has it been without a window problem? One challenge is that the 2 times the window opened in the rain were about 11 months apart. It's hard to push for a new solution with that time interval. They seem to always want to recalibrate (and blame the user). Oh, also a bit...

Brand new 03/23 build, window roll up and back down problem

    - Recalibrate twice. - Remove and replace Window Regulator, mechanism and motor, for both front windows - Today: Recalibrate again. And said it was "user error" per their check of the car's logs. But they couldn't provide any details of that finding. Repair Notes: Technician performed window...

    Windows roll down by themselves

It’s not always a user error. I have the same issue, and no, I did not hit any buttons accidentally. Proof: only one window rolled down by itself. Venting does all 4

    Windows roll down by themselves

Please do not blame the user. I've had the same problem, and several other folks posted about the same problem. And my window was open much more than it opens with the vent setting. And it's not a coincidence that the 2 times it happened to me were during big rain storms.

Surprising solution to hot MY seats

I bought this, too, and I like it a lot. The air flow to my back tends to be weak because my seated body blocks air, but I just grab the steering wheel and lift myself off the seat a bit for a cool refresher. It might sound like a nuisance, but it gives me some control and the ability to feel...

Brand new 03/23 build, window roll up and back down problem

Hello, I've had 3 service visits to fix my windows, and yet again, on a rainy day when parked outside, I returned to the car to find the front passenger window down, and of course the interior was quite wet. I've booked a 4th service visit, and this time if the problem recurs I plan to proceed...

    Rear windows rolled down

For several of us, the windows just don’t work, are very defective, and the repair people are using trial and error. I had 3 or 4 service calls / visits before the problems stopped. First worker said he needed to recalibrate. Second said he’d recalibrate, but if that didn’t work, then a new...

Tesla scheduled departure/off-peak charging not working

I might be away from home for a few nights. When I arrive home, say at 10am, I want the car to charge, and I'm still on off-peak hours until 3pm. I do use Scheduled Charge, for midnight, so at 10am the car will not start charging automatically. I have to make it charge manually. Not a big deal...

Tesla scheduled departure/off-peak charging not working

I’m talking about Tesla, not Tessie. Please stop talking to me like you’re my scolding parent, so disrespectfully.
  14. sfRonH

Tesla scheduled departure/off-peak charging not working

you oversimplify. Not everyone is like you. I am not. I do use scheduled charge time for midnight, but my cheap rates last til 3pm, so if I am out at night and arrive home in the morning, I want to charge when I get home, and have it stop at 3pm even if it's not full. I do this, but I need to...

    iPhone and text messages

same here, but it seemed somewhat random when it would or would not fix itself. I did this a billion or so times, and the 2-button reset, and whatever else I could think of. Oh, and I re-paired bluetooth between my phone and the car. e v e n t u a l l y it worked

Me too. Funny, when I posted about this a while ago, no one expressed the same experience!

Tesla scheduled departure/off-peak charging not working

    B. Like I said, all *I* need is “always charge during off-peak period, and never charge when peak period.” I certainly am not unique in this.
  18. sfRonH

Tesla scheduled departure/off-peak charging not working

My charging seems stable now except in one case. I have it set to start at 00:15hrs, lower rates. If I drive home at say 13:00, and it’s still my low rate period, I tell the car to start charging. I set an alarm on my iPhone for 14:57 so I can then stop the charging before the rate increase at...

What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

My seat often feels warm like it’s burning me. And it’s with the heaters off, I swear. I’m concluding it’s the fabric and related to my body, but not everyone’s!

Wife replacing BMW X3M40i - looking at Model Y or BMW iX3 - decision time!

I wish I agreed. I’ve had way too many service visits that fail to fix problems. It is good that they have an EV focus and experience. I just wish my car were more reliable and had a much better user interface.

Brand new 03/23 build, window roll up and back down problem

Thanks for the thoughtful video. It’s a shame that there is a need for this hoopla. I, like others have said, have had several service appointments and the problem continued to recur. It hasn’t recurred in a while now. I would like my $60k car to operate as well as my prior Prius but it is fully...

Common enough that several of us have posted similar issues. Service fix sounds good, but 3 service visits didn’t eliminate my problem.

Model Y - Initial Impressions - Delights, surprises, disappointments and concerns

It’s supposed to be convenient! I also have trouble finding the door handle in the dark. Sometimes I’m carrying something , or for whatever reason, it’s hard to unlatch the door. Never had this issue with my 2006 Prius.

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

good reminder! I've used voice commands a bit. it's not my natural inclination. and i don't like that its responses are only in print, which is hard to read while driving. But for a few things like this, yes, it sounds great.

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

thanks so very much! I tried it before I saw your reply and figured out that yes, "set fan speed to 7" works, which will be a lifesaver for me. I tried "Fan speed 7" and it didn't understand it, but I can learn its syntax.

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

People's temperature comfort varies a lot. My typical case is: temperature of about 55 º F, sun glaring in thru windshield making me hot, but the general temperature inside the car is OK. I just want a blast of air for a few minutes, on my face. If I turn the temperature down to invoke this, I...

    Unblocking Car Doors

I have issue with locking. Best case: before I get out of my seat, I open my door slightly, then push the padlock icon. When I exit the car and close my door (must be after my passenger closes his door), the car locks instantly. But, if I forget to do this, and I'm already standing up outside...

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

Hello, I don't understand the above quote. And, I realize that my problem (one of them) with the climate control is that to just increase the fan speed, I need to push 3 buttons. 1. bring up the A/C menu. 2. turn off Auto. 3. increase the fan speed. In an older car, I would just increase the...

    Parking sensors. Please help

BINGO! and plenty of people have always had trouble parking. How about less judgment: just because some of you/us are great parkers, doesn’t mean everyone is like you (thanks for that, considering the arrogance and impatience)

Forward collision warning or parking assist gone?

Mine broke a few months ago right when they began rollout cars without USS. coincidence. They fixed my rear hardware on a service call. Front was also not working at times but that fixed itself magically.
  37. sfRonH

    Parking assist

Often, backing in would make access to my rear door near impossible, not good when grocery shopping.

Need Help/Advice - First 38 Days With MYLR - Terrible Experience

I would venture to say it’s because the product has problems. When I bought my Prius new, the boards didn’t reveal so many problems. A happy experience for most people is of little value to the too-high number of people that encounter problems.

HVAC Auto mode- who came up with that garbage?

I agree that just about everything with the climate control is terrible. My issues: the main AUTO button turns blue when on. But the auto button for seat heaters and steering wheel heating is 2 different shades of gray, no blue. How am I to remember which is Auto and which is manual? Why 2...

    Auto climate fan over-ride

Wow, my experiences are quite different, as is how I think about this. I see fan speed and temperature as 2 different things. The A/C system can be more hot or more cold, regardless of the fan speed. This is how every prior car I ever had worked, as well. Before the recent software upgrade, on...
