    Supercharger - Temecula, CA - Temecula Parkway (LIVE 9 Jul 2021, 8 V3 stalls)

I never bother to check charging price; but probably won't charge here again unless desperate. $0.60/kWh was by far the most expensive as I've paid this year, beating previous record in Irvine ($0.48) which was a much more desirable location. Furthermore, there was a "bathroom for paid...

Solo Roadtrip from San Diego to Vancouver (Canada) in a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range

If you're thinking about roadtrip or foresee frequent charging outside of your home, Tesla is still your best option right now. As stated, I didn't spot a single Ford (or Rivian) charging at the Supercharger throughout this entire trip. It's either a bit more pain using the provided adapter...

Supercharger - Harris Ranch, CA (18 V2 stalls)

Hmm... sounds like as long as we stay indoor (inside hotel), should be OK. I will need to consult with my wife to stay here or Hotel Mission De Oro (Santa Nella SC) 75 miles north.

Supercharger - Santa Nella, CA (LIVE, 48 V3 stalls)

Anyone actually stayed at the hotel? I'm contemplating either this hotel or Harris Ranch Resort, in my upcoming trip to Vancouver. Seeking comments/opinions of actual guest of either or both.

Supercharger - Harris Ranch, CA (18 V2 stalls)

Thinking about staying at the Harris Ranch Resort for my upcoming trip to Vancouver. Read about the smell of cow poop in this forum but last reported in 2017. Can anyone confirm that it's now a non-issue? I certainly wouldn't well to cope with that smell all night long.

Supercharger - Lakeside, CA - Camino Canada (permit found, 12 V3 stalls)

From El Centro to La Mesa, a long stretch of I-8 (~100 miles) without Supercharger so this is definitely welcome. However may be better if Tesla can add another location somewhere closer to the middle, like the Golden Acorn Casino.

Supercharger - Bishop CA - Rocking West Drive (LIVE 22 Sep 2023, 24 V3 stalls)

Thanks! It closes at 9 so will need to make sure I can make it before, or will charge at the other place in town.

Supercharger - Bishop CA - Rocking West Drive (LIVE 22 Sep 2023, 24 V3 stalls)

My wish came true and I am planning a trip from in June northbound through this town, but where can I use the restroom for free, Big 5? May be arriving late; ~8 to 10pm. I don't mind spending a bit of $$, if it's just a drink, snack, etc.

    Supercharger - Gardnerville, NV

Hi, anybody know if Best Western is accessible from the RV lot? I'm thinking about staying there (instead of Topaz Lodge) but would prefer walk the inside path, rather than out on the road, especially that I'd be arriving late at night. The plan is to charge first, walk to hotel to check-in...

The quest for the ultimate efficiency.

Original stock, which is probably Michelin. You think Hankook can do better? I only have 15.6K miles on the car but already thinking about tire replacement, since the Discount Tire guy told me Tesla tires typically don’t last more than 30k.

The quest for the ultimate efficiency.

Here's my best stretch of work commute in 4 days in 2022 M3LR stock 18" w/ Aero Cover: San Diego - Suburb ~50% highway Max speed of 70mph ~500ft of elevation change (800ft - 300ft) 65F - 75F This is only achievable if I drive like an old lady with slow acceleration and gentle regen-braking.

Solo Roadtrip from San Diego to Vancouver (Canada) in a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range

One day I’d like to drive up to Yellowknife in winter, to see Aurora Borealis. Currently it seems possible only in S (non-Plaid) without relying on NEMA adaptor. Maybe the Canadien government will add a few more chargers in that route.

    Sequoia National Forrest

Sequoia was my first roadtrip in this current Tesla (22 M3LR). We stayed at the Gateway Restaurant/Lodge with Destination charger. That was very nice/convenient.

Help with Grand Canyon Road trip

Definitely go buy J1772 adapter and both NEMA 14-50 and 14-30 connectors (for RV parks). We drove to Death Valley and also Yellowstone (separate trip) a few years back in 2019 M3SR with rated range of 240 miles but actual of <200. Never needed NEMA connector (fortunately, would've been boring...

Solo Roadtrip from San Diego to Vancouver (Canada) in a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range

Thanks but just checked....hard to avoid Interstate and thus heavy traffic from Suma. Yes Osoyoos is quite far (4+ hrs) from Richmond but I did drive to Kamloops before and it was a joy (beautiful scenery throughout), and yes, I am planing an extra-day for the home-bound journey.

Solo Roadtrip from San Diego to Vancouver (Canada) in a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range

Very interesting and informative. This matches the Chinese saying; early birds get the bugs. I checked PlugShare. At first glance non-Tesla charging locations are plentiful in VC metro (although only 1 in the densely populated Richmond that I visited), but the picture changed quite...

Just so happen that I may have another opportunity to do the same trip later this year (so great that my wife has families up there!) so I'm already putting some thoughts into this possible next trip: I probably would not subscribe to FSD. Long Road Trip - Is it possible to customize charge duration during stops?

That what I did from SD to Vancouver and back; review and determine next stop at every stop. I prepared a list of SC locations en route; mostly V3 but also included a few V2 if strategically located. It’s 3-page and very helpful.

    Tesla on a trailer

Based on my recent roadtrip, 30 minutes of charging can get you about 3 hours of driving at 70mph. Unless you have super strong bladder, you’d need bathroom break anyway. Just be sure to find SC locations with 24 hrs. bathroom (gas station) during non-business hours. 2 people nonstop driving...

Solo Roadtrip from San Diego to Vancouver (Canada) in a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range

Technically I drove to Richmond, a city just south of Vancouver but definitely within the same metro. Forewords It’s been 30+ years since I last drove 1,000+ miles solo. China’s Abandoned, Obsolete EVs Are Piling Up in Cities

These abandoned EVs in China are new, hardly (if ever) driven, yet they're "registered" and "sold". That's why it's a scam. Conventional wisdom is that the manufacturing cost of these EVs should far exceed whatever subsidies/incentives the manufacturers could get so why make and abandon, but...

China’s Abandoned, Obsolete EVs Are Piling Up in Cities

The Chinese abandoned EVs phenomenon is pretty much a scam; each EV is "sold" and "registered" with full government subsidies received for each vehicle. EV manufacturers receive further subsidies and incentives from local and central government for achieving sales target. These are the things...

No, this is my second 3. First was 2019 leased 3SR. Range anxiety is not a concern, especially now with LR. Clean bathroom within reasonable/safe walking distance (not crossing busy street) where I won't feel awkward/embarrassed or getting weird/nasty look, is. Thus I generally prefer...

Valid point indeed. If I can find a hotel that offers free parking & charging, it may negate the price difference somewhat. Will now investigate. With Tesla, roadtripping requires more planning in advance, but still, Lexus NX is staying home.
