Wipers definitely gotten worse a few updates ago. Same stretch of road I have driven on dozens of times in different time of day, bone dry weather, and wipers will come on. Clean windscreen glass, no shade from trees, still wiping every couple of minutes on some days. Never done this before.

In my experience you can't cancel preconditioning, apart from cancelling the route to the charger. I've tried pressing on the preconditioning message, but that just removes the message, it doesn't cancel preconditioning (I can still hear the fans going).

When my M3 rear glass was replaced under warranty in February , it was done at a Tesla SC by Autoglass. Replacement work is then signed off by Tesla to make sure it is done to their standards.

Why is this rumour still going around that Tesla is deactivating USS from cars that currently have them? Is this based on when they removed radar? Same as this assumption that they'll remove stalks and move to the yolk steering wheel, we've seen zero evidence of that on the M3?

Or you can buy a key fob, and unlock the charger using that. It was one of the main reasons I purchased it. I found that using the phone to unlock the charger took too much time for me, specially if you're in the rain waiting to go inside the house...

For anyone interested: after mobile technician confirmed two weeks ago that it would be covered by warranty, the glass was today replaced for free at the Nottingham SC.

Probably a combination of all of the above. When I test drove an M3 in summer 2021, the SC mentioned build quality is better in China made cars compared to US. A forum is no scientific representation of build quality. People only tend to post following a problem, not when the car is doing well…

In case anyone is interested, or has a similar issue in the future: received a message today (day before the SC appointment) that 3rd parties now do glass replacements. Changed SC appointment to mobile visit next Monday to confirm if it is a warranty or paid for replacement.

Nothing to do with “low speed recreation”. It already does that when displaying cars around you when in slow moving traffic or waiting for a traffic light. The system can recognise traffic lights, others cars, cones, etc. What it now needs to recognise/display is walls and other obstacles...

Not really. They already have a map of the (immediate) environment , part of which is already displayed on our screens. It doesn’t need any additional hardware or inputs that aren’t already in the car. Don’t know, I’m not a software developer but I can see how this approach may work.
