Uberturbine Look Aero Wheel Cover for Gemini covers

You only see a difference if traveling at faster speeds (highway). if the commute local and not very fast there is no increase miles. However, if you drive an hour highway with and without the caps there is a difference.

End of lease inspection, repair & payment

Yes, however in the last six cars I've leased there was never an issue with tire wear for three years with all six cars. The fact there is an issue with tire wear within 24 months of a Tesla is odd. I don't drive insane.

End of lease inspection, repair & payment

I'm about to return my lease Y in two weeks. What was the cost from Tesla to replace your tires? I have a feeling they will require me to replace mine. I considered going to a tire place and replacing them all for $200 each. Also, did you do a paper inspection return or did a person inspect...

Order new or buy from existing inventory?

I already pulled the plug on a new Model Y in inventory. Was $1500 off which is normal for my area (DC). Will be here in two weeks. Now, I need to clean up my lease to turn in. My main concern is the tires. I don't think it will pass their inspection if they do it. I've leased six cars...

End of lease inspection, repair & payment

I've leased my last six vehicles. While each lease does stipulate what's required upon lease return, I've never seen a company as strict as Tesla. My last six vehicles have been: Audi, Infinity, Lexus, Acura, Acura (again), and now Tesla. All $50k price range. All prior vehicles upon lease...

    New (hw4) Y vs used 2020 or 21 Y Pros and Cons

Another con for the 2020 is the battery is already four years old. Pay the $10 for a new model. Plus, USS will be disabled via software in the future.

Early lease maturity (2021 MYP to 2023 MSP)

I just did something similar. My leased Y will be returning at the end of the month early (suppose to be next summer). Just purchased a new Y off the line today. Will arrive near me in 10-14 days. With the $7500 tax credit and not having to buy four new tires for my leased Y it saves a...

    My ordering experience

There are certainly many pros to ordering a car from Tesla. The lack of sales people really helps. It's as simple as ordering any product online versus haggling with prices, etc.

Order new or buy from existing inventory?

It seems there's always 2-5 new/demo vehicles in any area for sale right away. If one of these matches your options, what's the pro/con of just buying an existing one versus ordering one? I assume the only pro is you get the vehicle sooner. Anything else?

Does 2023 come with wood trim?

Agreed, would be nice to have the option of brown trim with white interior. Would look nice.
  13. EmbersDC

Does 2023 come with wood trim?

The black interior comes with brown wood trim. The white does not. Wanted to know if it's changed at all for 2023.
  14. EmbersDC

Does 2023 come with wood trim?

Looking through photos and sites it seems some of the Model Y 2023 comes with wood trim and some do not. On the Tesla site they show wood trim with back interior and standard trim with the white interior. Anyone confirm?

New 2023 model Y doesnt include homelink?

I'm amazed people are spending $300-500 for a garage opener. Just take your garage remote and Velcro it to the back of your monitor. I have mine in the lower left. You can't see it and it takes less than two seconds to press. Cheaper than paying hundreds.

Regrets [Anyone regret trading in their ICE for their Tesla?]

I've had two flat tires and a broken rear window with my Model Y and I STILL would trade in any ICE for it. The ability to never go to the gas station or change oil is amazing. I have 300 miles every morning ready in my car. Plus, cost about $12/13 to drive 300 miles versus $60/70. Also, to...

Bottom dropping out of used market?

I hope so. I have two years left on my leased Y and I'd prefer to buy it versus ordering another car. As of now Tesla has denied the ability to purchase a leased car which is not normal. If the market goes down they'll allow it since they can't make a major profit off selling my used leased...

Having owned a Model Y would you consider the F-150 lightening

The interior is "barebone" by design. However, the materials used on Tesla cars are nowhere near as good quality as other brands. But, that comes with the Tesla brand. It is what it is. You want it. You take it. No one is forcing anyone to purchase a Tesla.

They're not even the same vehicle type. One is a pick up truck (and a large one at that) and the other is a small compact SUV.

Hyundai vs. Tesla | Why Hyundai Poses the Biggest EV Threat

As soon as a manufacture builds an electric car that can go 225-250 miles on a full charge for around $25k-$30k they'll take the market. It won't be Tesla.

    Model Y Performance

I drive in Chill mode 24/7. It's been on that setting since day one of having the Y. It still faster than 90% of the cars on the road, not that going fast is that important.
  26. EmbersDC

    Pathetic mileage

You'll get used to it. Battery cars are not like gas cars. The faster you drive the more battery you use up. Anything over 65mph will eat up the battery quick. I have a weekend home 60 miles away. 90% of the drive the speed limit is 70mph. I drive 80mph. It eats up over 100 miles off the...

Any other owners second guess if their next car should be another Tesla?

Love my Y, but at the price point now I would not purchase or lease it. There are so many options coming within the next 24 months. The Model 3 was suppose to be their affordable car. It started out being $35,000 and it's now $50,000. Pricing is out of control and the build quality is still...

Is it okay to charge to 100% if I am immediately going to use it right away?

I feel it is necessaary since it's a long distance. One route I take the speed limit is 70mph. I drive 80mph and easily use up "150 miles" on the battery. Charging to 100% when using it well past 85% is perfectly fine. I even asked the service center twice (two different techs) and they both...

Is it okay to charge to 100% if I am immediately going to use it right away?

I charge to 100% whenever I need to drive more than 100 miles. My schedule normally requires driving over 100 miles 1-2 times a week. I do this: 1. Charge my car to 85% as usual the night before. 2. Before I sleep I turn on the scheduled charging and set it to start charging at 6:30am. 3. I...

    removing MY side mirrors

Yes, I use both mirrors regularly as well as turning my head and looking. I don't use the images on screen. It's faster for me to turn my head and just look. People are just lazy and images on the screen are not as effective as a one second turn of the head. Been driving over three decades...

Got Mylr last month notice range drops a lot

The faster you drive the more power is used. AC/Heat uses power. Sentry uses power. Everything uses power from the battery. It's important to slowly realize EV cars do not operate the same as gas cars. Everything the Tesla does runs off the battery which means your "miles" will decrease...

    Washing The Tesla Model Y

I have a few times. Car was too dirty for a brushless wash. I never found an issue. The material and paint is cheap so it scratches versus a normal car. Not a fan of that from Tesla. I'm within 15-20 minutes of both brush and brushless car washes. The brushless is good just to get stuff...

    Mobile Charger no longer included

Not including any charging cord is insane. Horrific move. Imagine a buyer forgetting to purchase the "optional" mobile charger? You get the car and now cannot charge it? The mobile charger should be part of the car so owners can at least charge with a regular 110v wall outlet. I use the...

    Minimizing Whr/mile

The smoother you drive the better quality you'll get from the Tesla (or any car). Don't speed. Don't slam the breaks. Don't speed up, then down, then up, then down, etc. Steady pace is best. Also, no need for AC or heat? Don't use it. As OP stated, all these small things add up if you're...

PSA: If you still haven't received your permanent plates, keep bugging them about it

Tesla Model Y - Things You Should Know!

I didn't even read all of it. Who takes that long to type up a real post? Paid negative ad 100%. That said, the OP stated it was a lease. So, it's due back soon. Enjoy no longer having the Tesla. I have a Model Y and do not experience any of the issues you have. And for all those who keep...

    2022 MYP vs MYLR?

A few items to consider: 1. Prior the P was $10k more than the LR. 2. Not everyone cares about going fast. All Teslas are the fastest cars on the road already. What is the major advantage of going one seconds faster? 3. The miles are estimated and depends on how someone drives. If a P is...

New software update available on March 9th, 2022 for Model Y

Yes, and most people charge at home so they're never just sitting in their car waiting. I have not once turned on any app besides ones related to driving the car. My iPhone has better apps than the ones on the Tesla. It's ridiculous to have calendar, text, games, streaming as primary...

New software update available on March 9th, 2022 for Model Y

Until they allow more function buttons at the bottom bar updates are pointless. Who needs calendar, phone, text, games, toys, streaming, etc on the bottom bar when 90% of them cannot be used while driving. I don't sit in my car to play game or look at my calendar. I have a phone or computer...
