SGIP Incentive and sale of home

As far as I can tell the only other way for me to remove access would be to delete my Tesla account. I'm not going to delete my Tesla account because the new owner did not do what they are supposed to do. I cannot remotely shutoff their power, the phone has to have been paired to the powerwalls...

SGIP Incentive and sale of home

And like I said earlier I asked the new buyer to do the transfer with Tesla so they could control the App and powerwall's but they never did it. I keep the App setting just as I had them so they are at least load shifting.

I disclosed all the installation information (permits, design, operation, etc.) basically every document that was on the Swell website. I summarized how they operated. I signed whatever paperwork they sent to transfer the Powerwall's to the new owner. I could not find a way to transfer the...

So do you still think that you can't have too much solar? I ask because in this forum you have stated that you can't have too much solar numerous times.

Choosing PG&E Rate Plan (Solar with Storage)

You can qualify for SGIP under a medical baseline with multiple PSPS shutoffs and keep E-TOU-C. If you qualified for another reason like a well pump in a high fire area that has had multiple PSPS shutoffs, you have to be on EV2A.

It only takes about 4-7 years to construct a pumped storage plant. I do not know of any in California that have begun construction. Eagle Crest was licensed in 2014 for 1300/MW but has yet to start contstruction. Apparently scaling even for pumped storage is an issue.
  13. Z

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

The amount of storage required to cover the current 14,000/MW of commercial solar, and who knows how much rooftop solar that is not generating for 13-17 hours each night will be staggering.

SGIP Equity Resiliency still available in San Ramon CA area?

I am guessing you do not have to wear a CPAP to sleep. I would suggest having someone wake you up every 30 seconds all night by putting their hand over your nose and mouth. You really do not sleep if you have a bad case of sleep apnea and the CPAP is mandatory.

SGIP Equity Resiliency still available in San Ramon CA area?

AMI does not apply to medical baseline. I believe in a later decision they changed the electric well pump rule to have an AMI limit. Initially the program did not have an AMI limit for electric well pump customers who met the other criteria.

SGIP Equity Resiliency still available in San Ramon CA area?

The electric well pump inclusion has an income requirement, household income no greater than 80% of AMI (Area Median Income)

    Nissan Leaf as a battery

I just wonder how it would handle if the leaf is being charged at the time of a grid outage. I would guess you would drain your powerwalls to your leaf and after the powerwalls die the leaf would pickup. That would not be ideal but I think it would work.
  20. Z

    Nissan Leaf as a battery

It will be interesting to see if you can get the leaf integrated into your system and have it play nice with your powerwalls. I imagine that will be your greatest difficulty.

You are correct. I thought you had to have had events but with medical baseline you do not.

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

A significant transmission or generation forced outage would also be a reason for calling on VPP energy.
  24. Z

    SGIP Rebate Extension

Have you had 2 or more PSPS events? If you have you might qualify for 2 powerwalls under the medical baseline. To qualify for the 3 powerwalls under SGIP you would have to meet income limits and I believe be on a well pump as your sole source of water.
  25. Z

    SGIP Rebate Extension

With a medical baseline you qualify for 2 powerwalls regardless of peak consumption. I failed to mention you have to have sustained multiple PSPS outages to qualify.
  26. Z

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

True, but this also limits capacity of those participating and might be part of the reason the total MW capacity is so low.

Swell Energy. SGIP equity resiliency. Must be on medical baseline to qualify without having an income threshold qualifier.

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

I thought they would have higher adoption. 100 MW would be a good start. I thought they would get more like 250 MW. At $2000/MW this will likely be called upon just prior to shedding load. I certainly hope the program doesn't drain peoples powerwalls for 2 hours and allow the local utility to...

6 MW that is absolutely pathetic. I run a relatively small system and losing a 6/MW generator is basically not noticable except for the actual breaker operation.

  35. Z

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

I did the math for heat pump heating at my house and estimate I would need an additional 7-9 MWH of energy to produce the 50 MMBTU that I would need during heating season with a COP of 2-2.5. With PG&E rates it would be almost the same cost as propane, not counting the significant cost to switch...

It would be somewhere in between though I would think that it would be far closer to the high end than the low end. CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

$440-$660 how do you get to that value? Are you taking every kWH of solar generation and sending it to the grid? That is more than a bit extreme. I believe the actual numbers for me and for most people would be much better than what you think.
  47. Z

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

That is a great idea! No not really. I will just pay the per kw solar fee if that ever comes about. The system generates about 11/MW a year which at 0.31/kwh is about $3400, paying $720 of that to the PoCo doesn't seem like such a big deal.

In the ultimate irony I bought a house with solar. It does not change my position on NEM 3. Can I add more solar with PG&E?

1 week is not 0.1% of the time. The generator will not charge your Plaid or Powerwalls. You will be spending a whole lot of money to save $128/month. It's your money so you can burn it up for all I care.
