    Tesla Autopilot Level 5 Demonstration

According to my understanding of the NHTSA definitions, there is no difference in the software/hardware capability between Levels 4 and 5. Therefore, Level 4 and 5 would operate the same way. Since Tesla does not currently offer cars without steering wheels, brake pedals, nor accelerators, the...

According to the NTHSA, this was not a demonstration of Level 5, but of Level 4. Level 5 cars have no steering wheels, brake pedals, nor accelerators. I urge people to go to the NVIDIA YouTube website, and view their presentations of what the NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2 platform computer can achieve in...

San Francisco Store & Service Center

I took a friend with me to see the store the other day. A young lady told us about the Model S and X, and told us about the status of the building. Apparently, the 3rd floor and roof still belong to Bentley Motors Ltd until they can find space to store their equipment. So, no service until...

Clean Disruption of Energy and Transportation

The book, "Clean Disruption of Energy and Transportation," by Tony Seba does an excellent job of explaining why solar and wind will disrupt oil, natural gas, coal, and nuclear as sources for energy. It also shows how this will make electric utilities and conventional ICE cars obsolete by 2030...

About time to unveil the D and something else

I thought the 155 mph speed limit for the S85D was an error, since the total power for the Model S85D does not change from the S85. The only other way I can think the speed limit was increased is due to a higher gear ratio. Perhaps some one can explain the physics involved in this situation...

About time to unveil the D and something else

I believe that the 155 mph speed quoted for the S85D is a typo. I emailed Tesla about this, but I have not received a reply.

Another Tesla Crash. This time into the delivery sign.

I had a 1972 Mercedes and had a similar accident. I was backing out of a space in a parking garage, and I saw a car approaching. I thought I put my foot on the brake pedal, but instead I put it on the accelerator. Not too much damage to either car, but I certainly felt stupid!
