Wondering the same thing because it has to be an added cost to them.
Only reason I can guess is they don't want people coming for covid reasons even though it is a contact free delivery
Couple reasons
1. After watching all the YouTube videos of people taking delivery of their Teslas taking delivery at home just seems so lame
2. I live in an apartment so I could forsee issues with the actual delivery
3. Don't want to risk any additional damage
Just got my text for delivery! It did say though that I have been scheduled for a Tesla direct delivery to my house. Which I do NOT want. So now trying to arrange picking it up at Dublin
Well no go for me. I guess the car on the inventory page is a pre production car according to the guy I spoke to on the phone. Back to waiting for a VIN lol
Strange. The exact car I want has popped up into existing inventory in the Bay Area. Not a demo car either it has less than 50 miles on it. Reaching out to Tesla to see if my reservation can be switched to this car assuming the correct price will be honored and this car has the heated steering wheel
My estimated delivery is narrowing each day. The last day has been the 24th for a while now and the first day has been tomorrows date for a while now. Currently at estimated delivery March 17-24
So I am a big proponent of leasing cars...I know many are not. In your situation though I don't think its the right thing to do.
Redcap is correct you can claim back the clean air rebate in California of $2k per car after you take delivery. (There is an income limit to this though and I believe...
You can also get a 2k rebate check from the California Clean Vehicle Rebate project. This is in addition to the 1500 CA clean reward that Tesla automatically deducts from the price of the car.
Clean Vehicle Rebate Project
No you can't pay yet. Tesla will send you an email/text you when its time to pay. You're in CA like me so I wouldn't expect to hear anything about making a payment/taking delivery until mid March.
Definitely nothing special, but the price was right for me. Solid build quality and the material inside feels premium. I didn't need all the fancy compartments in the ones you see on amazon so these were perfect for me.
Still waiting for my VIN...just looked at completed tasks and I see the price of the car has dropped by 1k. Downpayment reduced by $50 and monthly reduced by $15.
$395 disposition cost
You're wasting the money on a rental when you could be paying a little more to purchase the vehicle with a loan
Everyones situation is different. I'm going to be leasing my model 3 and then in 3 years I will purchase something Tesla just not sure which model
I'm a noob to Tesla so I never knew about this east-west delivery thing. Ordered my LR, MSM/White, on 1/29....expected delivery hasn't shifted from March 5-31 so I guess it really might be around the end of March. Hoping for sooner!
You're in California right? The Clean fuel reward is automatically applied. No action needed.
The clean air rebate for 2k you have to apply for after you accept delivery of your model 3. Clean Vehicle Rebate Project
Don't pay any attention to the "lease after set savings" That is basically...
Do you have insurance on another car? Since you're in California you can upload that and that will suffice. California is one of the few states that allows that.
