Tesla is removing Steam capabilities from future Model S & X

If it is less Ram in the MCU, it's more decontenting, so it's more cost saving for Tesla. Seems to be the Tesla way. The Big 3 were famous for removing stuff and decontenting back in the 70s. Didn't work out so well for them and they had to stop that sh$t back then.

Model X 20-inch square wheel setup

The foam tires ARE repairable as per Continental. Just have to remove the foam in a strip (4" wide) around the damaged area. Don't have to pull all the foam out. ContiSilent Repair Maybe they wouldn't repair because the puncture was too large or not in the center area of the tire. But the foam...

Peeling Yoke warranty replacement - updated materials?

With the cut backs of 10,000+ employees and complete of Super Charger team, seems like things aren't going well $$$, wise at Tesla. I was told last fall during a service visit to wait for a new yoke, as only allowed 1 pealing replacement. Seeing people here are on there 3rd, I now know this...

    Apr 20, 2024 - Model X price drop by $2,000 !!! wtf...

5 seat rational: initial cost and CARGO SPACE. The 5 seat has the most space. Along with the sub-trunk in the far back, there is an additional 'missing 3rd row seat' sub trunk area. It is 2x higher than the 5 seater MY 'missing 3rd row seat' sub trunk where the mobile charge just fits height...

Did anyone go from a Raven to the refresh? Thoughts?

Yup, but wouldn't call the Raven a bucket of bolts. Yes had more wind noise for sure, but no real rattles.

Model X 20-inch square wheel setup

Be very careful with your tire selection. I tried a set of Nokian One A/S tires last summer when I went square on my MXLR. Good reviews etc, But there was a sound. A hollow, howel coming from a resonance inside the tire at highway speeds. The foam liner on the stock Continentals gets rid of it...

Did anyone go from a Raven to the refresh? Thoughts?

Been almost 2 years on the refresh. The yoke, not a problem anymore for new sales as new Refreshes default to Wheel. I'm use to yoke, but still thinks it's inferior to the wheel. No advantage and questionable safety in an emergency situation where have to turn fast. Like sliding on ice. The...

Brand new 2024 Model X range after charging

You 3/Y drivers make me laugh. You assume, and rightly so, Tesla uses the same software on the refreshed S/X cars the 3/Y have, but NOOO. We 2022+ S/Xs don't get an energy screen with the 5/15/30 range and usage chart. Nope. The old S/X have it and the refresh had it left over with having to use...

    Model X Winter Tires

My 19" Tempest JUST rubbed on the brakes. Maybe a spacer shim a couple mm out and they would have cleared? I can see how a slightly different design would work and TSport Line must be just different enough to clear. BUT they are a very open design. If you use 19s for effeciency gain, an open...

    Macboost install help

I had a problem getting the whole assembly to move out also and used a block of wood and a large pry at with all my Wife's weight on that while I inserted shim. Macsboost replied to my post that should raise both sides of the rear, as the antisway bar was fighting the drop with only one side on...

Falcon Wing Door issues won't go away

Dont know what went wrong on the Refresh of 2021 with the FWD sensors. But feel is the original X had problems in 2016 when released but fixed in a year, then pretty good with sensor errors not being a thing. I know my 2020 Raven had 0 problems with the doors. They closed down production for 10...

20 inch pre refresh wheel on a post refresh car

Yes, use the silver 20"s on my winter tires for my 2022 MXLR FYI, the 19"s from an old S did fit on a 2020 MX but didn't clear the brakes on the 2022. I had to sell the 19" ones and aquire the silver 20" for the 2022.

Response from Tesla service regarding yoke steering wheel peeling

Also, look at the bottom of the air bag, the horn is in the middle! TechNOking said back in the fall of 2022, all hardware was there for center horn just waiting for software, that was not true. Atleast it is now with this change. Hope we can all get it.

Trading in my M3 for MY - Sales process is a JOKE!

I feel the Tesla experience is a JOKE for a $95K transaction (bought a MX during the pandemic, so paid more than now cost). Bought a Refreshed model X. Had never even SEEN a Refreshed one before the day I saw mine. They expected me to ACCEPT everything on the App without even sitting in it...

I thought you could set the distance of vehicles that were in front of you with autopilot?

Yeah, this is a pain in the azz. WHY can't the wheel change the distance? Its 4 touch screen pushes to change distance, whole time eyes off the road. So BAD a UI vs a stalk like the X use to have. I know, have to save money on the most expense SUV they make. Stalkless is a joke and a bad one at...

    19" wheels for 2022 Model X

Not it sure if the 19 Cyclones fit, but the Aero 19s from the S I used on the 2020 X did not clear the 2022 X brakes. Sold and went with 20s for the winter.

    Pricing Revealed

$20k more and remember the 500 mile range that I put money down on? NOT. Best is 340 "Tesla EPA miles". Add some cold weather and towing and it's worse than my Refreshed X. Could be under 150 miles actual with a load and cold. THAT'S why the 500 mile thing was important. TESLA rating is Best the...

    Shudder

So my refresh had the front shafts replaced at 14k miles for shutter. So even on low, not gone. And how stupid/incompetent are they? The refresh defaults to low for the shafts but they couldn't change the angle of the rears to fix the inner tire wear at that new, default setting? I have the...

2022 Model S Plaid Sound System Upgrade?

Had 2020 Model X and a refreshed X now. Agree with the above statement. The 2020 had a airiness and front sound stage that was wide and unlike anything we have in any other car. Really eanjoyable to Listen to. Completely gone in the refresh. Missing that openness. Also, the ANC does...

    Refresh Model X Matrix Headlights?

Didn't you describe just really good regular headlights? The Matrix part is the European thing where they only dim where in coming traffic is to avoid glare in that poor persons vision. Model X Falcon Wing Door Wont open

They f'd something up on the refresh. Seems like the pre-refresh they had it down, no problems with late model 18-20s. Seems like complains on 21->refreshed drivers door sensor not working. Mine has been in twice and second time tech said he did a good job of cleaning and remounting with epoxy...

    Refresh Model X Matrix Headlights?

Tesla apparently can't program the matrix to do the European thing where they stay high beams except where the on coming car is. Don't have it working on the 3/y either. Have to check, don't remember. Just FYI, if have refreshed X, 2022 or newer, the brakes and offset changed enough I couldn't get the 19s on the front w/o hitting the brakes. Had to switch to square setup with 20s.

    Falcon Wing Door Issue

I wonder what the NTSB would think about the safety of doors that take 20 seconds to open? Seems like a safety hazard honestly. So why don't I just go and get it fixed? Well I did. And it stay fixed for less than 2 months. Service center is 3+ hours away each way and not open on weekends, so...

Model x adjustable camber arms 2022

I don't think it looks different. Maybe from behind the camber change makes to the tires aren't "leaning in", but have to be looking for it. Not check for spacers and instructions, but Stainless steel, quality parts. I would do it again, as stock Tesla inside tire wear sucks and should have...

2020 Tesla Model X Long Range Plus Trade Value

Wow. Haven't looked in awhile. Last year, 6-20-22, traded our 2020 MX Red/White/LR+/FSDb/28k miles into Tesla and got over $100k in trade value when bought our 2022 MX. Back then, new MX was $120k minimum, so current starting at $98,490 has killed trade values. Looks like trade is down more...

Can you keep all 4 tires the same size for 2017 MX?

I bought 2 front wheels and put 255 55 20s all around on my 2022 LR. These are slightly larger diameter than stock 265 45s to make up for fact speedo is off 2 mph at 60 with stock. Now 1 mph low so better. Run this same setup on my winters. Tires have a higher load rating than stock, so don't...

My refresh 2022 MXLR with 15,600 miles (25,212 km) charges to a CALCULATED 343.4 miles (552.4 km) for 100%. We never charge to 100% for battery life problems that may cause. Max is 94% for trips and don't need over that. So my range is from TeslaMate on a raspberry Pi I just set up and that...

Shutter - MOST disappointing thing about 'refresh', still does it, after 6 years they couldn't be bothered to fix it. Just had both shafts replaced on our 2021 Long Range refresh at 15K miles. NO other brand does this as consistently or often as Tesla. Again, I've driven 5-10 other brand with TACC type cruise and didn't even know Phantom Braking was a thing until got a Tesla. Now on our X it happens a couple times an hour where we live and is annoying as f to have car slam in the...
