Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

I stopped at Banbury on Bank Holiday Monday. It was surprisingly empty for 1:30pm with just me charging. I went for a brew and came back to find a Kia parked at an odd angle preventing one of my passengers from getting back In. It must be a cost thing as Banbury isn’t short of non-Tesla...

I’d probably classify this one as “In the bag (just needs switch-on?)” A month or two ago it just needed power and some white lines. I was there yesterday and the lines are now painted and looks pretty complete. I hope the folk setting up the nearby Co-op Arena aren’t involved with plugging it in.

    EU Cybertruck?

Looks like it’s in Manchester City centre on the 20th May. I was planning on heading into town for a birthday lunch anyway so I think I’ll pop along to see it. My M3P lease runs out in September, but I can’t see it being available by then but to be honest, it’s probably too big for me.

There used to be a coming soon pin for Rownhams North Services. This was one of the sites due to get a power upgrade as part of the green recovery scheme but was struggling with planning for the power upgrade. I’ve tried to educate somebody about sharing on a V2 before at Newport Pagnell, but they were quite happy on about 60 kW. I gave up as the empty row soon filled up. I’m heading down the M40 to Wembley next Sunday and am planning on a quick pit stop and top up at Hopwood Park to 80%, the first...

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

Just had an email from Fisker about heavily reduced inventory vehicles with up to £15k off and in the small print it said: Due to the current economic situation of the manufacturer Fisker Group Inc. and the Fisker sales companies in Europe, there is a risk of limited support and limited...

Larkhall are 16 x V4 and are in the car park of the Radstone Hotel. I had decent lunch there a week ago and posted a picture of the progress. At the moment the car park doesn’t look like it’s got any vultures with cameras monitoring it, which is always helpful.

    Tesla Alternative?

I know somebody whose family has an EV6. Excellent fast charging as long as you can find a 350KwH charger rated at 800v. They have some kind of manufacturer card and get a discount with Ionity, so tend to stick to them where they can when travelling and use OVO Anytime at home as their charger...

On the way to Scotland, I called for lunch at the Radstone Hotel near Larkhall just off the M74. Looks quite complete compared to my last visit in November. The 16 V4 chargers were uncovered and there were some people working on the distribution boxes. The white lines need painting, but that...

I’ve worked in the utilities industry for almost 30 years, including supporting offices and IT systems for an old DNO for that very same region. The DNOs (and some other utilities such as water), submit plans for the next five years. These get approved by the regulators. It’s not that easy for...

I was at Tesla Manchester Central the other day which looked more advanced than the Preston one. There are quite a lot of deals to be had with Ionity chargers so a lot of people in the know use third party charging cards and apps or manufacturer schemes which make Ionity a lot cheaper to use than the headline price so Ionity can be quite popular amongst some non-Tesla’s drivers. I’m hoping...

The latest iOS version is now 4.29.5, it looks like it was released yesterday. I usually have to manually update the Tesla App, whereas most others update when it’s being charged. I had a test drive from the new Tesla location next to the council house yesterday, and I too found the 30 minute drive insufficient. Payment for charging can vary. Most places that I’ve used charge a one off fee which is taken out after you’ve parked. You pay for parking straight away and the charge fee once you’ve charged. It comes out pretty quickly after the parking session expires. I have used one at Bow where they...

I regularly travel long distances in a day for football matches and have been to Nottingham a few times as well. As mine is an older M3P without a heat pump so the range isn’t great, I tend to use Justpark and book a charger on a driveway whilst at the game and often pre-book lunch. In...

It will be interesting to see what happens with Luton. Instavolt have just opened 6 nearby as well on the same day. Unless you have a deal with a third party charging provider, the Tesla chargers are going to be cheaper than Instavolt for most non-Tesla’s.
