Does Model Y HW4 have the new Phoenix radar?

Is this only for HW4 cars? Because I used to have the option of 1 when setting follow distance, but then after a software update, it went away... I have a 2020 HW3, radar-equipped Model Y, just for reference...

Any 16V compatible portable power stations?

You first said that the Tesla low voltage system adjusts, and then switched to the device adjusts what voltage it can accept. You're not even consistent with what you're saying, and yet you are claiming other people in this thread aren't "reading" it properly. Not only are your posts...

    Tsportline 19 x 8.5 Wheels on the Y

I've had my TSVs in 19x8.5 for two and a half years now, and wouldn't change a thing on them. They're excellent for curb rash protection with the stock tire sizing and definitely give you enough warning feedback. I don't have any curb rash on my TSVs. I also don't feel like my tires stick out...

Tesla adds two new Model Y colors - Midnight Cherry & Quicksilver

    Is AWD worth it?

What about Honda's 3rd generation CR-V? That vehicle has 4WD badging... Does it have a locking differential? Is Nissan's E-4WD lockable and off-road capable? I only have to show you one example of how your statement is wrong. Might be best to read up on this subject...

    Is AWD worth it?

Both of these are just marketing names anyway. There are too many types of power delivery to 4+ wheels as it is, but to hopefully add some clarity here, AWD generally consists of open differentials or limited-slip differentials designed for on-road/highway driving. 4WD or more specifically...

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

I'm glad I didn't buy from Martian Wheels, and instead went with some Tsportline TSV 19x8.5 rims. My Martian pre-order was delayed multiple times with different excuses given every time. Between multiple reports from pre-order purchasers being given different answers on the delays, claims of...

4 month old MYP Hit...how's it look guys?

When it comes to a driver being rear-ended where the overtaking vehicle is traveling measurably faster, wouldn't partial-blame only be assigned when the rear-ended driver was driving slower than the posted minimum speed?
  16. brinox

4 month old MYP Hit...how's it look guys?

You can't claim another driver's chosen vehicle speed being slower than everyone else's around you as defense against inattentive driving resulting in an accident. If the op had been driving the same speed then an accident probably wouldn't have happened in this case, yes, but this cousin by...

New upgrade available in my app. Enhanced auto pilot for $6k. Wish they would offer accel boost for m3p.

Neither you nor anyone else has defined what safety means in this context. The study you referenced defined "safety" as the probability of avoiding an accident. If we accept that as our definition for now, driving at the same speed as other drivers around you does not cause but may correlate...

    EAP Return to US

I bought it within minutes of finding out EAP was available again. ALC and (potentially) NoA will undoubtedly make longer drives and full road trips that much more appealing. $6k+tax is quite an outlay but as much fun and joyful as this car is to drive for me, this is a very worthy enhancement...

App keeps reverting to Scheduled Departure

Yes. This exact situation happened to me and my theory is the Tesla computer is using whatever location that the wifi network provides to mark where that scheduled departure location is at. So when you set your scheduled charging for (wifi networks location) it immediately switches back to...

40 mi commute, office charger debate

Thanks for jumping in and clarifying for everyone. I got confused with kW/kWh being lowercase and forgot that mega is capital M. My mistake!
  24. brinox

40 mi commute, office charger debate

Power (kW) is the rate at which you recharge your battery. Energy (kWh in this case) is the amount of energy deposited into your battery pack. Your confusion appears to stem from how confusing "kWh" is as a measure of energy, and if you ask me, is another reason why kWh should just be done...
  25. brinox

40 mi commute, office charger debate

That's what kilojoules and megajoules are for! And while I didn't say it outright, I meant saying/using joule in all of its metric forms like kJ and mJ, etc. I also understand why electric bills and everything else use Wh/kWh because that's how power is measured and billed by the utility...
  26. brinox

40 mi commute, office charger debate

Not entirely correct. kW is a measure of power, specifically a rate of energy transfer, and its everyday expression usage does not typically denote its time component specifically. The watt is the SI unit for power, FYI. On the other hand, kWh is a measure of energy, expressed in a...

Wall Connector installation for a "pre-wired" townhome

Its certainly hard to say and compare from my keyboard here at home, but those wire sheath diameters look similar to my 6AWG NM-B wiring going to my 14-50 outlet, so it could very well be a downrated circuit.

    21s, 20s or 19s?

I'd recommend maintaining the front wheel tire size of 255/45R19 all around if you're making any changes for comfort and efficiency/range reasons. The factory front tire on the 21" rim of the MYP is 255/35/R21. If you're looking for performance, 275/45R19 will work but your speedo will be off...

Top glass misalignment, how much is too much?

Yeah I wouldn't be bothered by that "misalignment" to be honest. Its somewhere that isn't easily noticeable either. I agree, enjoy what you've got! I certainly am with minor inconveniences that are "within spec"

What tires should I be hoping for on a MYLR with the default 19 inch wheels? All season? All weather? Made by whom?

I put Vredestein Quatrac Pros on my 19" TSportline TSV rims. They have great traction and snow performance (really great for an all-weather tire to be honest) but have resonance and road noise transmission into the cabin, significantly more than my stock Uberturbines with Pirelli summer tires...

    Pumping gas is HARD!

I agree, with personal experience. I've moved about 8-10 inches of snow with my EGO-branded option of this Chervon-manufactured snowblower. In fact, this particular snowblower design doesn't really work well enough to justify its use when there's less than 2 inches of snow to throw...

OEM Modely Y Mud Flaps no longer fit?

I also recently got and installed both the Tesla shop mud flaps for my May 2020 Model Y Performance and they showed as "incompatible" as well. They fit fine on my Y after installing them yesterday but I might take some tin snips and trim them as they're ridiculously long for what is needed...

    Fremont 4680 indicators

I'd wager that they built the structural pack frame to accommodate the previous 2170 pack design in some way(s). I have a May 2020 build and I'm pretty happy with it regardless. I'd say take your delivery and run with it as long as everything is "within spec". If you really want the 4680...
  35. brinox

    Fremont 4680 indicators

You missed I was saying entirely. Some Model Y buyers want the Model Y Performance regardless of the underlying tech included, others don't want to pay that premium and have no care for the increased performance and will buy the Model Y Long Range. So there's already a stratified pricing...

The original OEM blade is back on and doesn't stutter at all, even dry. I'm returning both PIAA Si-Tech blades to Amazon due to both of their issues unfortunately. My next wiper stop is the Bosch Clear Advantage option. Its mounting height looks to be pretty close to OEM. Sadly its not a...

I just received these wiper blades (26", 20") and both are going back to Amazon. 19” Induction Wheels

Yeah Tsportline has given some really bad non-thought-out answers regarding different width rims/wheels since they debuted the TSV option. I don't understand it. They've got someone proficient in math in-house to design these wheels; why can't they take a look at the offset and brake caliper...

    19” Induction Wheels

I went with the Model 3 tsv 19in so I could have the 8.5in width option for better rim protection. As long as you get the same tire size as the stock front tires for the 19in wheel on all 4 rims, you won't have any speedometer issues. 255/45R19

Car Sitting For 3 Weeks In Hot Garage - Charge Or Not?

The brick is actually a large electrical gate/breaker switch of sorts (lookup EVSE on Youtube) with some logic built in to make sure both ends of the circuit are in compliance with the rated receptacle and wiring. So heat isn't ever really a factor on the mobile connector (and the wall...
