FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Right, understood and that’s worked for me. But it should move to the right when I use the indicator stalk - sometimes it will but others it won’t no matter how many times I try, then I disengage.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I’m on a long road trip now and experiencing two frustrating issues; rarely reads 65 mph signs and often refuses to move to the RH lane despite manually and repeatedly using the indicator, forced to disengage - crazy. Need to nail down some basic functions before having robotaxi dreams.

    Yellowstone National Park

When will you be in Yellowstone? The wife and I will arrive 12 May, wondering if you're still on track for your trip....

https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/7646899/ Agreed, have been saying this for a while though the more "Zen" crowd here preaches patience my friend... 😇

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I’ve tried everything, plus no glovebox usb port and sentry always off.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yep, mine has been off and on since this update.
  7. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

To quote an old boss of mine, "I don't disagree", though I've been around long enough to know how I'm comfortable driving in various situations thank you. This is another of the oft-quoted "wife-test" fails for me so it's up on my priority list...
  8. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Agreed, but it varies of course. We should be able to tune in how closely we'd like to follow more precisely to an appropriate distance for conditions based on the drivers judgment.
  9. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

With all those changes it will probably end up being the Holiday update but here's to hoping....
  10. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I agree there should be a better "standard" stopping process - one that makes the best use of regen and stops close enough to the stop line or lead car. As it is now it's too abrupt initially with too long of a semi-coasting phase followed by too long spacing from the desired stopping point. No...
  11. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yes, I've had this happed several times so now I watch for it - caught me off guard the first couple of times and there was little time to react.
  12. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yes I noticed that too, used to work well but broke now no matter how long I wait, gave up on that feature for now 🙁.
  13. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

The car ahead of me, didn’t notice further than that.
  14. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Agreed, just saying it recognizes the braking.
  15. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I was looking at the simulation today and noticed the car ahead brake lights appeared properly and my car braked in kind when appropriate, didn’t see a problem.
  16. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yes, hopefully that's a quick fix. No one else around and it stops, looks, creeps, looks some more, thinks about it, then make a slow turn. Don't know how that got messed up so badly but that's my main issue with 12.3.3. And it does tend to cut corners too closely. Improved in most situations...
  17. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yes, although I just returned from a drive this morning and experienced the same speeds though with no lead car it tended towards 3-5 mph over the limit (35-45 zones). At stop signs this morning I experienced some of the inappropriately slow turns others have mentioned however.
  18. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Whoops, going from memory which is always dangerous 😅
  19. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Interesting, mine consistently stayed above the speed limit (5 - 10 mph) in limited testing (an hour or so). Not sure if it makes a difference but I have mine set to "aggressive", slow was never an issue.
  20. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Mine accelerates quickly now too, zero issues with that so far. But I like quickly.
  21. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Just took my first drive on 12.3.3 and it was excellent! Drove 15 miles through the city on a variety of surface streets including one with lots of dips and turns (Sabino Canyon/River Rd./Campbell Ave @JHCCAZ), moderate traffic. Took over once on a U-Turn just to expedite the process but...

Hankook ION EVO AS SUV - Model Y Tire Review

I'm not sure how accurate the TeslaFi numbers are but keep in mind, tire efficiency improves with use to a certain point - your Hankooks are barely broken in. Wh/Km will drop a bit.
  25. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Thanks, I've tried everything - reseat, reboot, reformat, etc... Trying a new Samsung Bar Plus 256 today, I suspect it's a SanDisk drive issue as it's almost 5 years old now and I've read numerous failure complaints. Just wondered if the timing with 12.3 update might have caused it but probably...
  26. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Ports work fine, just the dash cam. I have a new one coming tomorrow just in case.
  27. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Anyone have their dash cam stop working after the 12.3 update? Mine's been working fine for almost 4 years and still works on my iMac but "not available" in the car... 🤔
  28. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yes, they overshot the blinking distance by a bit - from too late to now too early but I expect they'll fine tune it soon.
  29. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I haven't seen that at all - inappropriate braking is WAY down overall.
  30. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Re stopping behavior, as noted above it does tend to stop a bit aggressively initially then ease up to a complete stop. It really doesn't bother me so much but definitely an area for improvement. That said, I've found little else to take issue with! Two BIG improvement I've seen are in...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Surely this another sign of the pending apocalypse… 😂
  32. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

My U-turn was the same; displayed the message but did it anyway, very nice... Edit: For me nags have been non-existent so far. In ver. 11 if I looked at the screen for a moment I'd get a warning - was hyper vigilant. Anyone else noticed these are way down? To be clear, I always keep my hands on...
  33. Dennisis

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Updated overnight and went for a short drive this a.m. First impressions: 12.3 is markedly better and yes I'm liking the autospeed setting so far. Overall drives very smoothly and confidently and lane selection is much improved. I think this version is dressed to impress!!

MYLR range is not adding up

If you've read all you can here about range, battery, etc... you should know these numbers are "for reference only" and many factors will cause them to "not add up". Trying to make them do so is the quickest route to madness with an EV. Yes, set the indicator to percentage then drive and don't...

Need help deciding which Tesla to sell

Seeing as you've already purchased the Rivian the choice seems clear - sell #2, pay off the loan and then hang on to your 2 remaining vehicles for as long as possible, or at least until they're paid off. Good luck and enjoy your cars so this expensive lesson isn't for naught.

    Goodyear ElectricDrive 2 Tires

Get a plug kit and learn to use it - lot's of info on here. I had foam in the OEM Goodyear's no issue (but crap tires), had MPS AS4's next now Hankook Ion EVO SUV's with foam no issues. There are ton's of foam type tires on the road now, the vast majority with no issues - the few get magnified...

    FSD Beta v11.x

On 2023.44.30.5.1 now and just got the latest map update as well. It rained all day yesterday and wipers worked properly and no dry wipes today. Car seems to handle roundabouts well so far (limited testing), is faster off the line and makes more aggressive turns - seems much more confident...

    range anxiety

This. Though I've never had to use them I keep various adapters, the mobile connector, and a 50' NEMA 14-50 extension cord in my frunk at all times along with blankets. It's nice to have the frunk area to stow emergency type items.

Tesla Model Y - Things You Should Know!

Same here. 41K and 3.5 years now still very happy with my MY. Having previously switched cars every 3 years or so I have no desire to do so now, though I'm always open to new and better options. Just haven't found one yet and don't expect to for another 2 years at least.

    2021 Model Y replacement tires

I replaced my 20" OEM Goodyears with MPS AS4's and just replaced those after 24K miles. The AS4's are great tires but you'll take a substantial range hit (10% approx.) for the first 2K or so, slowly improving to 'til around the 10K mark and leveling off but never as good as the OEM's...

    Questions, questions, questions...

If you take nothing else from the copious notes above, remember to put in your destination and follow the instructions! The car will tell you where to stop and how long to charge each time. Finally Got my new Model Y LR - How it all went!

Agreed. I travel all over the west and always carry my mobile connector and a CCS adapter, haven't use either in over 5 years other than to test the CCS adapter.

Finally Got my new Model Y LR - How it all went!

There are plenty of superchargers along that route, should have been an easy trip with no need to go out of your way. I'm sure this being your first trip you weren't adequately prepared and nerves played a part. Not that you should need them but check out A Better Route Planner (ABRP) and sign...

    Supercharging and Navigation

Tesla doesn't know where you'll want to go next after you reach your destination nor the status of chargers not on their network so you have to do your own planning if counting on those. Sign up for Plugshare - it's a great help!

Hankook ION EVO AS SUV - Model Y Tire Review

Appreciate the review - not a whole lot out there on these yet. I have 20's so after replacing the OEM Goodyears at 16.5K with Michelin PS AS4's I'm now at 40K and in the market for a new set again. While the Michelin's are great tires the noise and efficiency hits were considerable, though...

    Supercharging and Navigation

I recommend using Plugshare to review what chargers are available at your destination as part of the planning process. That way you can plan on a charging strategy if Superchargers aren't readily available. For instance, I travel to Park City regularly. While SLC has Superchargers available 30...

Money well spent: tire repair kit

Yes, needle nose are best IMO. I also keep a pair of coveralls, an old large towel, and mechanic gloves with my kit.
