Liftgate adjustment DIY info on 2023 refresh

If the decklid is lined up with the roof ok, then you don't want to touch the hinges or that part will be out of alignment. Try lifting the right side bump stop slightly and lowering the left side bump stop and then lowering the striker a tad. There's a bit of twist available at the rear of the...

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

You sound extremely experienced at making excuses for Tesla, so I won't try to win any arguments with you. For the others, what he is describing was not my experience in any way shape or form with the Tesla's I owned. Yes, I know some service centers are better than others, but the ones in my...

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

It's all just Tesla BS. When I picked up my 2023, they had to bring it from another SC because their computer system was wrong and it wasn't even in the SC that they told me to go to pick up the car. The sales rep was overjoyed that he was going to have to go pick up my new Model S and drive it...

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

And the people being laid off are wondering why Tesla is having layoffs and Tesla sales are down. It’s this type of crap that rightfully scares off buyers.

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

WhenI picked up my Model S, the vermin made it so I had to accept delivery before I could get in the car. And you really need to drive the car to see the distortions because that’s when they distract you.

    Additional layoffs

I am hopeful that this massive shakeup will help fix some of the very deep-rooted problems at Tesla's core. After owning a few of these cars, it's clear that the company is very broken when you look at their problems with software and hardware quality, build quality, and customer service. I...

    FSD Price refund

lol - it's the rate of deprecation. The science and data shows that EV's are depreciating at a much faster rate. My Jag is a V8, and a "final edition," which both curb the depreciation. No way will I lose as much on depreciation than if I had kept that piece of crap Model S. And life is too...

    FSD Price refund

Dude, pay attention. That's cost to maintain, not reliability. I have owned 6 Jaguar and Land Rover products and 3 Teslas. The JLR's have all been more reliable than the Teslas. Sorry.

    Throttle pedal temporary fix

Thanks for your attempt at gaslighting me. That stupid saying that you can't please everyone has to be the dumbest way to apologize for Tesla's poor customer service culture. Obviously, it depends on what you need from the Service Center as to whether you have a good chance of getting...

    FSD Price refund

Isn't that funny that Jags are more reliable than Tesla's. It's actually true. I have owned both.
  11. T

    Throttle pedal temporary fix

Too bad a company with no independent dealerships has even worse inconsistency of service quality between their own service centers. Don't move to Houston, or any of the many other cities where the SC's suck.

Knee pain after coming from Toyota Land Cruiser

Uncomfortable seats and seating position is reason #23 why I sold my 2023 Model S. The thing about EV cars is that the floor is higher up because of the battery. That's why I would no longer ever recommend anyone buy an EV car after my experiences with the Model 3 and Model S. A more upright...

March of 9s: The Beginning of the End

This is why I thought it was absolutely nuts that Tesla themselves promoted on X someone using FSD to drive them to a hospital during a medical emergency as opposed to calling 911, and they were in an area where ambulances have quick access to them. And now there's promotion of using FSD for old...

    Tire Rotation

Are there arrows on the sidewalls indicating the direction of rotation on your tires? If so, you can't just move them side to side or they will be spinning in the wrong direction.

March of 9s: The Beginning of the End

That last little bit is the killer. If it ends up taking years to improve the current version, then in about 2-3 more years, Tesla will announce their next "complete rewrite" that will blow the previous code out of the water.

    Snippiness 2.0

No you don't. You don't know squat. If you had looked at my post history before falsely accusing me of being a troll, you will see that I have helped so many people with my posts over the years, and continue to help them to this day, and I have learned so much about Tesla and EV ownership that I...

    Throttle pedal temporary fix

Tesla has done this to countless customers over the years. It doesn't make it right, but it means you don't have any recourse. You'll probably need to get your own rental, if you can't borrow a car. Tesla won't give you one.

    Snippiness 2.0

Wrong. He completely missed that I sold a car depreciating like a rock while it still had some value, and bought a much nicer car in every way that is at the part of the curve where it is not depreciating like a rock. In other words, I came out way ahead. Do better. Yeah, I have owned 3 Teslas...

    Throttle pedal temporary fix

I work on all sorts of cars and other hands-on hobbies, and while I have a rivet tool, I almost never use it, so it's no surprise people don't know much about how rivets work. They are a pain in the butt because you have to drill them out to remove them. It's annoying when you come across...

It's amazing how bad they are. It's been my experience that it was terrible and only getting worse since my first Tesla in 2019.

Nope. You totally comprehended my post incorrectly. Not so smart!
  23. T

    FSD Price refund

That's what I did. I sold my 2023 Model S at a huge loss ($100K vs $70K) and then bought a very lightly used 2019 supercharged 5.0L V8 Jaguar XJL for $45K, which put $25K back in my pocket, and stopped the massive amounts of bleeding. The Model S values continued to tank and will continue to...
  24. T

    FSD Price refund

I like the way Tesla added massive amounts of salt to the wound by saying FSD would keep going up in price as it gets better, and when it actually gets pretty decent, they halved the price since the high of $15K. Imagine how those suckers feel right now that paid that $15k when it was completely...

So much for Tesla's no resale clause - 11 Cybertrucks currently on Ebay

Very bizarre indeed. Especially since a CT just sold on the other, bigger online auction site for almost $10K less, and there's always one up for auction. I still would not be surprised if that was a shill bidder and they got caught out because no one else bid. I could imagine the seller and...

2022 MS - Third Brake Light Out

Yes, you are one of the lucky ones. When my rear drive unit went out at midnight and completely disabled the car on the side of the road, Tesla made a dumb mistake by sending a tow truck that couldn't handle a completely dead Tesla (LV battery died after 10 mins because it's such a tiny...

So much for Tesla's no resale clause - 11 Cybertrucks currently on Ebay

Update, the high bidder at $130K just placed another bid against himself for $132K with 2 hours left. If you don't watch online auctions, let me tell you that's about the shadiest thing you will see from a bidder. Who bids against themselves? Very fishy. C&B will be in overdrive deleting...

    Tire Rotation

Does it say on the tire sidewall markings the word "Outside." If so, it would have the word "Inside" on the other side, and they could not be flipped.
  30. T

2022 MS - Third Brake Light Out

I believe you are correct. Here in Houston, I could completely imagine our Service Centers denying the replacement unless every single LED was burned out. They would almost certainly claim it is "within spec" and "functioning as intended" if even one LED was still lighting up, hoping the car...

So much for Tesla's no resale clause - 11 Cybertrucks currently on Ebay

I am just guessing that this guy in a precarious position today. https://carsandbids.com/auctions/9WoWMWV9/2024-tesla-cybertruck-foundation-series He has a current high bid of $130K, but there is a reserve. So it's very likely, although I don't have any proof, that the current $130K high bid is...

    Tire Rotation

If the tire does not have a specific inside/outside, you can have them flipped on their rims and then move them side to side to get much more life, if the inner or outer portions of the tread are wearing faster.

Interesting take on wrapping the Cybertruck

I think that is awesome. If I ever get a CT (once they are below $50K used in the next 12 months or so), I think a tank theme would be good. You can even add the top turret as a fancy light bar attached to the roof rack mounting points.

So much for Tesla's no resale clause - 11 Cybertrucks currently on Ebay

It's also interesting how Doug made an entire video to egg on CT owners to man up and sell their CT's on C&B's and when they did, he made them "Featured" auctions. But after 4 of them being lackluster and requiring non-stop censoring of the comment section, the 5th one is no longer a Featured...

Newbie Questions (Avoid if newbies annoys you)

A extra dashcam is a good idea for backup. It's amazing how many people found just the footage they needed missing from the recordings of their Tesla built-in dashcam.

You're on a CT forum. There is no paint.

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

That's could be an extremely expensive short term experiment, given the soul crushing depreciation of these vehicles from new.

Those that have gone from a Model X to Cybertruck, are you happy with the switch?

Yeah, that never would be the reason.

Interesting take on wrapping the Cybertruck

The CT design doesn't look good with any light colors. The two tone would look better with 2 dark colors.

So much for Tesla's no resale clause - 11 Cybertrucks currently on Ebay

On Cars and Bids, the 4th CT in a row was a no sale at $129.9K. That's down about $20K from the first one on C&B a month ago. At this rate, they will be below MSRP in a few months. My guess, is that within a year, they will be around $50K lightly used.

How's the ride quality and the noise?

Isn't it amazing how different the opinion of noise and ride quality can be? I haven't ridden in a CT yet, but I am sure I would find it loud like you. I guess some people are hard of hearing.

Yikes! Error Message: Unable to Drive/Pull Over Safely

I started coding intensely when I was 12. I am in my mid-50's now. I can say with authority that Tesla absolutely sucks at software. I sure hope they don't ga around telling people they are a software company, and not a car company.

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

I think it's gotten worse than Tesla just not doing quality inspections. I bet Tesla knows these are factory seconds and buys them anyway at a steep discount to install on the cars. They have gotten away with so much related to poor build quality, and they know the fanboys will coming running...

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

My 3rd party glass guy is amazing, but he told me that, unlike most other manufacturers, Tesla has locked up their glass so installers have to get it from Tesla only, and it sucks. He doesn’t want anything to do with Tesla’s as a result. The problem is if you go through the nightmare to finally...

    2023 Model S Road Noise?

Maybe your SC's are better than the ones in Houston. Here, they will fight you to the death before even admitting there is a problem, and they'll use the argument it's normal because all their cars suck equally. But when they finally lose one of those battles, they screw up the repair. I had one...

    2023 Model S Road Noise?

Wandering that much means something is loose in your suspension or chassis. Aside from not being that great at aligning things, sometimes Tesla forgets to tighten important things. You know, brand new car company can't be expected to tighten everything and don't forget whataboutism.... On my...
