    PPF recommendations in west end?

I would try Is Your Vehicle Naked? – Paint Protection Film & Ceramic Coatings Jay did my Model S amongst some other custom PPF work. He's great.

    2 Hairline Cracks in Windshield

I woke up this morning to discover that there are two hairline cracks in my windshield. One on the right lower side and another halfway to the middle of the right lower side. Was not there yesterday and there doesn't seem to be any rock chip points or impact points. Both sentry and my dashcam...

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

I've had a few glitches since owning the car (one time I was drying and touchscreen/hud went blank, it tried rebooting a few times but didn't work under I got home and did steering wheel reboot). I've had blips where the car would reboot randomly (usually when engaging park). Today, while I...

Ontario - Insurance Increase for Model S?

My renewal is coming up in December and so far my current insurer and most other insurers have increased rates by $600 on average across the board. No tickets, claims, accidents, anything. I am used to insurance going up (very rarely down) but not by this much. Anyone else experience a...

    2020.40.x

I guess that makes some sense. Really, they should have a window reset mechanism. Retract windows all the way down then fully up as per normal. Its what we do manually anyway with single-click windows up; can't imagine it would be that different from an app click.

I don't understand why they can allow the app to vent but not to close the windows.

    Instrument Cluster Glitching

When I was out driving to pick up some food yesterday, I noticed my instrument cluster was glitching. Almost like it was constantly 'rebooting' but only the instrument cluster (main screen was fine). And it tended to happen more often when at a stop (still in drive but not moving). During...

    Hansshow Power Frunk

Mine starting degrading pretty fast. Only after 2 months, 8-10 open/shut cycles, it stopped closing all the way (I had to push it down to latch, like you do without it) then it stopped opening.... needs manual intervention for about 6 inches or so before it has the power to lift it up the...

[Speculation] Big price drop for used MS after battery day announcements

Probably not going to happen. If you watched the battery day event, they mentioned these new batteries would require new structural changes in the chassis. This sort of nips that idea in the bud.

    Ordered my MS Plaid

Well if that's your go-to Supercharger, it doesn't matter if you 'fill up' at 300 miles or 500 miles, that's the same line you will see every time. If you're going to argue that 'well, I can go during non-peak times', you can do that at 300 miles too. This is an infrastructure problem, not a...

Super Cruise and Ultra Cruise monthly payments

True. Then again, a high monthly cost could scare people away too. Could certainly be more than GM's estimates but I think they'll have to find something rational, as most despise spending a lot on their cell phone bills as is.

Super Cruise and Ultra Cruise monthly payments

So if Tesla offered FSD for around the same... FSD is currently $10,600 CAD + 13% tax = $11,978 CAD. $25 USD = about $33 CAD. 11,978 / 33 = 362.96 (months) / 12 = 30.24 (years). FSD 'forever' price wouldn't make sense at all, especially given that FSD stays with the car and not your account...

Is Tesla's UI intuitive or not? It is for digital natives

I feel like Tesla's UI is miles ahead of most in the industry right now. It definitely has its quirks (settings hidden in menus that do not necessarily make sense) and the experience could depend on what hardware version you have. But I like it overall.

is this a tremor or an earthquake (Lucid beating S)

I don't really have a skin in this brand war thing. I love my Tesla and the people at my Service Center and so far I have not been disappointed. That being said, Tesla could stand to have some legitimate competition because right now, there is none. I think Elon is both the impetus for the...

Elon Musk Says Teslas Are Too Expensive, Hints At New Compact Electric Car

I agree. If we're truly to see climate change addressed, governments must support green infrastructure and transportation. I personally missed out on the EV rebate window in my country for the Model S, which is unfortunate. But governments needs to incentivize both private industry and...

Elon Musk Says Teslas Are Too Expensive, Hints At New Compact Electric Car

And that's cool and everything. But the reality is, it comes down to want the market wants. Just because I like sporty, luxury sedans like the S, does not mean that they should solely focus on building those types of cars. There is obviously a balance that needs to be struck for now, because...

    Wheel rubbing on turns?

Yep, when it came to install my third party summer rims (20") + Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, there was some rub at extreme turning angles. My installer used a heat gun with some pieces of work to help press the wheel well plastics to give a bit more clearance. Worked a charm. Not sure if...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Not about to go through 648 pages but this should be a non-argument. If there is in fact a critical defect which causes a fire hazard, Tesla should fix the problem long term. Short-term capping of range, sure but they need to give back what customers purchased.

How to make a report for incorrect data?

I looked on their website and in the app; I honestly can't find the place where I can simply contact Tesla and let them know of an area where the speed limit is wrong or some other software based glitch. Other than the media and investor emails, how does a peasant contact Tesla for these matters?

Elon Musk Says Teslas Are Too Expensive, Hints At New Compact Electric Car

I mean, that's a given. For more entry level consumers, the 3 is too expensive. It is in the mid-luxury level such as some models of BMW, Audi, etc. They need a car in the $25k range to really start reaching the masses.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Anyone having weird issue with Auto Handle Present as of 2020.24.6.9? Before as I approached within a meter or so, it would present the handles. Now sometimes I stand up right beside it and nothing. Press the drive side handle and nothing. Reach in to tap the fob and its like a delayed opening.

This is a picture of the front-bottom-right corner of the windshield from the interior (passenger side). I've never been in the passenger seat for a period of time until recently. I noticed some cables or wires and this is the best shot I could get of it. Does anyone know what these are...

    Sherway Superchargers etiquette

I'm part of a Tesla Owners club in the province here and our fee does go to some locations having additional garbage bins. But that being said, we can't afford to do every single one. This is something Tesla and the property owners need to help tackle. They have the tech to recognize objects...

    Sherway Superchargers etiquette

I didn't catch who actually did this but *sugar* like this needs to stop l. It's not the first time I've seen garbage left around but this makes all of us look bad. It will cost us in some capacity. Take your garbage to a bin, not strewn by the superchargers.

    Wing Spoilers

Has anyone looked into the efficacy of full wing spoilers, like those spotted on the Model S at Nürburgring last year. I am curious what benefits, if any, it might provide. I know it would have to be at a fairly significant speed to achieve benefit, such as when being on the track. But as I...

Will HW3 REALLY deliver FSD ? some questions

Sorry I just don't believe FSD will materialize anytime soon. Certainly not with HW3 and not given the current performance and suite of features. The biggest issue with this whole pre-paying for FSD thing is that it is unlikely that cars will have the lifespan to see it to fruition, HW'X' or not.

Aftermarket 21" wheels that rub driver side wheel liner?

I did a heatgun on the wheel well approach with my 20" 245/40. I had very slight rubbing at extreme angles. There is definitely enough give for a centimeter or two.

    Front AP Camera Housing

Would there be any issues with creating a notch in the Tesla AP camera housing to accommodate a clean dashcam wire run? The house would otherwise sit up on one side due to the diameter of the cable. I'd hazarding a guess and saying no but has anybody has grief from Tesla in warranty scenarios?

    Charging not respecting limit

This is not a consistent problem but I'll notice at times that the charging session does not respect the charging limit. This is under scheduled departure settings. Typically, I have it set to 80% charge but once in awhile I have come to a car that is 90% or almost 100% charged. I've tried...
