    Snippiness 2.0

You wouldn't know the hard left if it gave you a Glasgow kiss mate.. your mother is so classless she is a Marxist utopia..

    Just kill it off already

Agree. Just incompetent, narcissistic and dangerously inadequate at running a company

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

For the wheels? Yes indeed. They can be anything you like of course in terms of finish or colour. Singapore factory or something, I don't recall. Made to order like most decent stuff, but without the rapey prices of some brands. Car is wrapped aftermarket.

Vendor Model 3 Öhlins DFV Coilovers - Engineered by Redwood Motorsports ™

Bouncing is poor damper settings. Spring rate won't truly fix the underlying issue of poor damping /rebound.

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

Sovereign wheels, 275 front, 285 rear Pilot Sports. Martian wheels titanium nuts. Big brake kit as mentioned elsewhere.

Anyone running 275s in the front?

Am away to put on my 275 front, 285 rears... Will let you know how it goes!

Is Tesla a Customer Focused Company?

More reliable and longer actual range anyways... The answer is and has been for many, no, Tesla is not a customer focused company. Take the updates process, sometimes changing things like location of function, without listening to customers. Who would you even reach out to? Windscreen wiper...

Alternative, DIY refresh Model X rear camber correction

Talk to Zevcentric btw, I had alignment and shims sorted there for this issue. They get shims made for them and got a lot of experience with this
  9. B

Range of Model X Plaid refresh 2022+

Am getting about 350 to 375 range in the bmw iX and in the missus X Plaid (20s!) we getting about 300 miles average. The iX has a slightly bigger battery but doesn't have remotely the extra power (or weight and drag) of the third motor.

Model X LR and Plaid Brake Upgrade Now Available?

Or, get good aftermarket steel lines, upgraded fluid, good aftermarket pads for a lot less. I also got the BBK from RB brakes. Recommend.

Pebble Flow: all electric RV trailer with powered drivetrain

Yay. Stuck in an RV site beside 50 other rvs on a concrete pad with a bunch of retired people. On an rv park. This is why overlanding is a thing. **** that.
  12. B

Pebble Flow: all electric RV trailer with powered drivetrain

Does not look overly robust... these things go wrong enough as it is, recommend hanging back till a few years have passed - get an RV from RVs of America for that much money, one with a lot of solar and battery, without the complexities..
  13. B

Alignment. Tyre wear. Model X: Tesla factory "In spec" lol

Jfc as much as that? It looked bad. Didn't know how much though. Factory spec is sh1te.
  14. B

Model X LR and Plaid Brake Upgrade Now Available?

You could just do pads, lines and higher temp 660 motul... 600 might not be enough as the oem disks aren't good at venting heat
  15. B

Model X LR and Plaid Brake Upgrade Now Available?

Ah yes! Oem calipers. YMMV.. do recommend improving the brakes... its a revelation especially with better tyres...
  16. B

Model X LR and Plaid Brake Upgrade Now Available?

Note. The above isnt fake caliper etc. etc. The limiting factor on the X Plaid brake kits has always been the brake pad and size of rotor, steel lines and upgraded fluid are sensible related things to do when you are in there anyways. The calipers are not too bad from the Plaid, you can see that...
  17. B

Model X LR and Plaid Brake Upgrade Now Available?

I got this - Save 10% on OE Caliper BBK (410/390) for Tesla X Plaid Front and Rear (P/N 2691 & 2643) and I recommend you DONT get the steel lines from them - get them from Unplugged or similar as RB dont tell you their lines flap about - as they didnt come with brackets to keep them in check...
  18. B

Model X LR and Plaid Brake Upgrade Now Available?

I got the Big Brake kit from RB brakes for my X Plaid. With steel lines and Motul fluid, its a revelation, and much needed for a nearly three ton behemoth stopping from warp speed.... The braking envelope is more, it doesnt fade as much, the brake feel (secondary to me) is actually much nicer...
  19. B

Alignment. Tyre wear. Model X: Tesla factory "In spec" lol

Check your alignment. Relatively brand new Model X and the factory alignment is very, very poor. You can see the toe AND the camber is off in the rear. This will adversely affect wear of tyres, potentially the front too, and negatively affect handling as well as braking. I got some larger brake...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Also am fitting shims at zevcentric on the rear as we speak to sort out the appalling toe and rear alignment (factory wears out your tyres in 20k miles I have heard)
  21. B

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Considered going to a different size? I've gone wider for my michelins, will take pics. Basically going up 10cm in each width. Fitting tomorrow
  22. B

Are adjustable toe arms necessary for better rear tire wear?

Am fitting shims soon on the rear on my new MX Plaid. Courtesy of zevcentric. The toe is appalling on these from the factory

    Yes. Also, no roof rack..

    $9,500 for interior color change....

Tesla and pricing are not usually correlated with common sense. They have the highest profitability in the market and its going to increase with their casting and battery tech coming... We all know they eliminated functionality of even cheap cars like ultrasonic sensors, down to like.. indicator...

    Recommendation for wrap and tinting

It was around 6500 for wrap in the shade I did, ymmv for what you get covered, and the brand and type of wrap chosen. The tinting was middle of the range for tinting from any tint shop so I did at the same time.

Recommendations for brake installer, Bay Area

Cheers, going with Zevcentric in ....Fremont!
  27. B

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Quite possible. The tires are the cheap volume brand stuff, it's not exactly Michelin pilot sports.. expensive to sort out but if some are close to tyre swap time then worthwhile getting some decent boots. Fwiw, the more I drive the model X after my wife replaced her Y, the X suspension on...

    MS or MX plaid

Also they have come down massively in price in the past few months... a common story for all of us chumps fuelling the Muskverse..so more win for you!

Buying a Plaid and Putting it on Turo for Oahu, Hawaii?

What could possibly go wrong... lol.. fastest car on the planet is any rental car.. no plaid needed. If you want a revenue stream get a cheap hybrid and rent it out on turo. I used it there myself and greatly welcomed.
  30. B

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

In to see Rishi in Zevcentric today and hoo boy, the rear toe is well out... way too much. Look at it from the rear. Seriously, then compare the front wheel alignment. Like this from factory, like the *sugar* panel alignments. If you keep the car, get it professionally aligned at least...

    Recommendation for wrap and tinting

This is a review of the SF Bay Area wrap company Elite motorcar wrapping service. They do sell lovely metal as well. But this review is for their wrapping service. 1. Not as cheap as some in the Bay area. 2. Not as expensive as some (OCD?) In the Bay Area. 3. Service.. genuinely world class...

Tesla really needs to step up their SUV game (BMW iX impressions)

I have the X Plaid and the iX. I drive the iX, and yes, overall the iX is the better car for most use cases and to drive and be in. Tesla is better in some things. But feels like a Kia or less inside. Panel gaps and paint quality and material quality is obviously way tf worse than Kia of course...
  34. B

    MS or MX plaid

Have the iX, it's plenty fast and actually gets a chunk more range than you think. Plus sides, it's got laugh out loud better build quality and materials (like... well... like a high end bmw really, and you forget what that is like!). Handling is better, nvh is better. Downsides, a few...

2022 Model X Brakes and Rotor

Recommend you get a second opinion and get the claim reimbursed- do a BBB case, and it will guarantee a response from Tesla. Dont even waste time trying to work with Tesla direct, unless you like blood pressure meds.
  36. B

2022 Model X Brakes and Rotor

In the bay area this is utter crap, if they were shot they should have been replaced under warranty. Just seeing this now. No way is a few years old rotor shot at user error usage unless you put like 50k miles on it...

Recommendations for brake installer, Bay Area

Looking for a San Francisco Bay Area shop that isn't scared of working with Teslas. I have called up all the main high street places. Most places refuse point blank to work on Tesla, even when I point out its rotorswap and new fluid replacement. Looking for recommendations for a place that...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Like my drill sergeant said.. you don't look at the mantelpiece when you are poking the fire.. lol edited to say the inside is one of th3 nicest in any non-English high end car today, it's like a supermodel from the interior and very good from behind. Then the front.. jfc... body off baywatch...
  39. B

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

You know the answer... my response was to buy the Plaid X for the missus and personally waft in a bmw iX. That goes further, and in most cases better. Not as quick of course. But better to drive and to be in.
  40. B

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Will report back with the lightweight wheels and upgraded brakes (RB package) and see if that helps any, should be a stack of rotating weight off the suspension, even though tyres are up to 275 and 285...

Model X Plaid : Track Package and CCBs

No, *this* is a 'garbage' answer^ Maybe you could have replied with something useful, if it didn't "meet your needs". The laziness of the public connected to the internet to casually fire off unhelpful, useless insults never ceases to amaze... My drill sergeant always said "don't come to me...

NEW MX has several issues; Unethical Business Practice

Mate you should try owning a Landrover, on balance the customer service is great. On the negatives, you see way the **** more of it than you ever wanted - its a real ownership of love thing to have one...
  44. B

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

You know... weirdly most of my panel gaps are ok. There's a few that are frankly obviously incompetent or would be considered unacceptable in another car brand. No squeaking yet but wholly understand some will come in due course..
  45. B

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Ah I didn't see this, I ordered the pilot sport 4 suvs summer spec tyre as this is the summer wheel set. The all season appalling ones on the poor cast wheels the car came with will be swapped back in in November when it starts to get cooler in the Bay Area. For snow use I will use the iX as the...

Model X Plaid : Track Package and CCBs

To be fair top end Cayennes like the Gt and turbo come OEM with very uprated brakes. A plaid (like mine) is hilariously incompetent for even one high speed stop. The fault is not the calipers, the low end pads and brake fluid is a good start. I upgraded rotors to ones with more radial sweep to...

Quick impressions of a 2023 Model X test drive

The reason why we traded my wife's Y in for the X was the Y had an appallingly crashy, go kart undamped, uncivilized drive. On the 19s this was too! The interior of the Y was worse than a low end Kia. The X interior is marginally better but the *ride* is much better. From a driver perspective...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

I just bought some wider tyres for the new alloy wheels I bought, but same aspect ratios (I have 20" on the Plaid X I just got) so 275 45 20 front and 285 45 20 rears... will report back if this helps the suspension seem any smoother, it may help! Also some titanium nuts and lighter but thicker...
