To protect the screen or not to?

I told the Tesla tech that I have had a screen protector on two M3's for over 2 years each and never had a problem. I also said that all of the cars were in the garage, and I only drive some 9,000 miles a year. He mentioned that it had to do with the sun coming in on the screen protector and...

To protect the screen or not to?

I have an M3P on order and waiting for a delivery date. In the meantime, I started looking for a good screen protector and was told by a Tesla mechanic not to put one on because they have seen many problems caused by the protectors that voids the factory warranty on the screen. Hearing this...

Is there really a best tint manufacture? Or...

ashegam Thanks for the link I was able to talk to a company that installs the Spectraphoto Sync IRD To do all Model 3's windows, including the windshield, it would cost about $2,100 plus tax. That's about $900 to $1,000 more than having Xpel's XR+'s, Llumar's or 3M's top of the line ceramic...

    Wasn't that a Llumar tint?
  14. JimShaw

Is there really a best tint manufacture? Or...

Yes, I agree, if the car just sits there in the heat. While sitting, the heat rises from the concrete and black-top which enters through the bottom of the car into the interior while the tint stops the heat from entering through the glass. So, yes again, the car will eventually always get hot...

Is there really a best tint manufacture? Or...

I have a new 2024 M3P arriving soon and want to tint all the windows (my now M3P has Xpel XR Plus all around) BUT I want to make sure I have the best this time around. So, I have been going crazy reading, studying, trying to decide which manufacture (3M, Xpel, Llumar) really produces the best...

Model 3 Window Tinting - Llumar or Xpel?

I have Xpel XR + on the 3 I now have. I've been considering: Since I'm old, I don't drive long distances anymore, only drive around 9,000 miles a year, maybe I no longer need the top of the line ceramic film anymore. Maybe the second layer down of ceramic film will do us OK??? I've been...

Model 3 Window Tinting - Llumar or Xpel?

I should not have asked you, dumb on my part I have been seeing prices around $1200 for all windows tinted, top of the line film from Llumar and Xpel tint shops and was a tad surprised when quoted for 3M top of the line at $1500. Maybe 3M is a tad more expensive? What did startle me was...

Model 3 Window Tinting - Llumar or Xpel?

Stopped by Tech Auto Glass this afternoon I liked the owner and talked to a couple installers in the shop. Seem like nice guys. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact that their price to do all the windows in my new Model 3 was $300-$400 more than other shops Are that good to be...

Maybe the best way would be to subscribe to FSD for $99 a month and then it wouldn't bug...

In my case, is having a pro do a ceramic coating worth it?

It's not a "wax job". It's ceramic coating and I do not have the expertise to apply pro-ceramic. It takes hours of buffing and prep to get the car's paint, rims, glass ready for ceramic. The pro I have talked to applies two layers. I know the ceramic he uses costs about $145 for a very...
