    The anti-Tesla EV lovers

Yeah I just chrcked mine. A bit higher than what I remember, but probably 30-40 if I exclude the EVs. And can cut that down in a power outage scenario where I’m trying to keep usage down.

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

USB to Ethernet is fine. Can do it with either mac or windows, but if you’re not technically inclined windows is easier. Toolbox subscription is generally cheaper than paying someone.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

It’s going to end up being something dumb like he didn’t have it in insane mode

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

I don't know who you are or why you're quoting a post that was in response to someone else (who did end up disclosing his financial conflict of interest)
  5. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

Being a shareholder is a conflict of interest. You can’t have an unbiased opinion.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

We're talking like a 600lb difference. At those speeds, drag is a far bigger factor than that weight difference. So the horsepower requirements tend to be pretty similar.
  7. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

Funny how insecure cybertruck owners are. Have to create their own echo chamber to make themselves feel better
  8. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

What do you know, turns out the cybertruck is right at home at the playground.

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

The sheer insanity of posts like this is always fascinating. Enjoy your polished turd

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

So you don't own a single share? Somehow I don't believe you. This is "Tesla Motors Club". Not "Tesla Fanboys Club". I can and will criticize the company and its leadership when they do stupid things. Which is nearly everything they do these days.
  11. terranx

    Snippiness 2.0

It's relevant because people are claiming it can't be ugly because the thing is selling well. In reality it's selling horribly and the documentation released with regards to the recall proves that. The recall also proves it's terribly engineered. So it's ugly *and* it's a shitty truck.
  12. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

Are you saying you have no financial conflict of interests with regards to the success of Tesla?

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

60-130 correlates pretty closely with horsepower. I'd be surprised if the M3P matches the MSLR with a ~200hp deficit.

NEMA 6-50 outlets: Leviton versus Bryant

Before we went hardwired we used a Hubbel 6-50 for years without issues. This was with a gen 1 UMC (40A) and then briefly a wall connector with a 6-50 pigtail set to 40A.

    ELECTRICIANS! Please help!

You can use a bigger subpanel as long as the breaker feeding the subpanel is appropriately sized. I'm using a 100A subpanel with a 65A feed servicing two tesla chargers.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

The only slight evidence I’ve found so far are a couple rgb lighting test routines in toolbox. I don’t recall them being present a couple weeks ago, but could be wrong. And I don’t think it’s just a carryover from the model 3 / cyber truck since it referenced the center console lights that those...

    ELECTRICIANS! Please help!

While it won’t make a big difference, the current limit in power sharing mode lets you set it down to the amp. So if you set each wall connector to 48A and then the network limit to 44A, you’ll get a 44A charge limit which is technically allowed with 6/3 romex.

    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

Credit rating doesn’t really make a difference once you’re past their threshold. Technically illegal to deny purely on advanced age (but legal to do for young age), but they are allowed to deny based on correlated factors. If I had to guess it would be income and employment status triggering the...

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

Notice how many of those vins above 4000 are for vehicles delivered in January. Despite having delivered less than 4k by April. They skipped some numbers.
  23. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

That doesn’t mean they’re doing that consistently. They chose their words carefully.
  24. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

Refundable $100 preorders. The conversion rate is near zero.
  25. terranx

S/X Palladium Motorized Screen Tilt Kit

Apparently body 7 is used for the trailer module? Also curiously toolbox has a couple routines for testing the RGB interior lights that I could have sworn weren't there before. Initially I thought it's probably just the same routine for the model 3 and cybertruck, but it did reference the...

    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

Tesla tends to use multiple banks so you’d have to read the offer’s terms. To my knowledge it’s pretty rare these days to have prepayment penalties.

    The anti-Tesla EV lovers

People are exercising their right to free expression by choosing not to buy from a bigot. If you respect Elon’s personal free speech, you should respect others’ right to express themselves how they see fit. Tesla’s mass layoffs and mass executive exodus is not comparable to “usual business” at...

Model S LR vs Plaid for Second Model S

I think it’s got to be at least 155 since they don’t make the paid hardware disclaimer about the claimed trap speed (which is 155). But this is Tesla so who knows if they made an oversight.
  29. terranx

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

yep. Better strategy is to get a Plaid *and* a 911 IMO
  30. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

They're not building 1k a week and ramping that quickly though. So no, I wouldn't.
  31. terranx

    .99% APR Financing Promotion (May 10 - May 31 2024)

I think he recognizes that the Model Y demand has tanked and Tesla is pretty desperate to push them. Best deals will probably be closer to the Juniper launch. Or even inventory models after it's launched.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

That's how I felt about the highland rear in general ever since it was revealed.
  33. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

In April Tesla recalled under 4k cybertrucks, which was the entirety of the fleet. Specifically 3878 cybertrucks produced until April 4th. They did not sell 6000 in a few weeks since then.
  34. terranx

I am frankly shocked by how stunningly ugly the Cybertruck is

Based on what? I’d be surprised if they it 10k

S/X Palladium Motorized Screen Tilt Kit

USS plugs into VCRIGHT, so I don't think it's that. Maybe HW3 vs HW4. Though since the new one seems to be backwards compatible, I don't know why they wouldn't bother d/cing the old one. Only other thought I have is one of the part numbers supporting RGB lights. The little bit of documentation...

Model S LR vs Plaid for Second Model S

Odd. I got basically the same quotes for both. About $800/year more than my prior model 3 performance.
  37. terranx

S/X Palladium Motorized Screen Tilt Kit

My 2023 car came with the 00-C module from the factory for what it’s worth. Not sure what’s supposed to be different between the two since Tesla apparently stocks both
  38. terranx

S/X Palladium Motorized Screen Tilt Kit

SC has always been able to make config changes. They just generally didn’t do it unless a documented Tesla procedure instructed them to. They’re also limited in the changes they can make. They should be capable of doing the service shell method as well, but that’s not documented either. In the...

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Asides for 4 wheel drifting, yes. It’s more of a I want much faster acceleration above the speed limit. I ended up going Plaid (which I am very happy with), but if the new M3P launched earlier I probably would have been very tempted to go in that direction
  40. terranx

S/X Palladium Motorized Screen Tilt Kit

Hmm interesting. Could be that configs that are officially changeable by either us or service are backed up to the cloud. The screen tilt option is not officially editable even by the service centers Or it’s safety relevant items that are transferred like you mentioned. You also changed the...

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

No, because the car always had 19" wheels as an option. They probably just milled out whatever is needed to clear the trackpack rotors and calipers.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

To be honest, that's about how quickly my old model 3 developed the issue as well

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

In the same way the 3 rides much better than the Y, I do find the S rides better than the X Edit: I see he drove an S not an X. I can’t explain his experience. S much quieter and smoother than 3 in my experience, and both quieter and smoother than their SUV counterparts.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

If that’s truly a 2021 model (from what I recall, deliveries of non Plaids barely started by August), then I would suspect it wasn’t in insane or drag strip mode. Sport mode makes around 200hp less than max and chill nearly 400 less.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

2024 change because of the shitty tires they put on to pretend they have a 400 mile range with the new revised epa guidelines. 2021-2023 had a top speed of 149. Non US variants 155

Apparently you have memory issues. You might want to get that checked out I didn’t say the LR is as fast as a Plaid. I said it traps at 130.
