yes disconnecting it will not allow you to close trunk from app or screen in car, can only close using button on inside lip of trunk, you can still open trunk from app / screen / button above license plate

Your last sentence I completely agree .. that’s what irks me most .. how much money was wasted by losing extra 3-4% every night. Trunk not opening or closing with app one thing but something we paid for actually costing every month 🤦🏻‍♂️

if latch is working it pulls apart very easily .. try pressing on small different areas of tab while gently pulling apart

are you serious?? it takes a laymen like me 10 min to pop off panel / unhook cable / pop panel back on .. AND it's their hardware causing issue 🤦🏻

When app showed a $275 inspection (2nd time I would have taken car to SC due to not sleeping post trunk retrofit) that’s when I decided didn’t want to roll dice on them not calling it a warranty issue and the fee not being waved. Wonder if armed with knowledge that disconnecting the canbus...

i would think majority of people are not having this problem or would see more complaints here .. unless as stated above a lot pf ppl use sentry mode at all times or dont notice their car not sleeping / losing extra 2-3% every 8 hrs 🤷🏻‍♂️

So just to clarify removing the harness behind the center console resulted in your model 3 deep sleeping again? If so I will try this as well until this issue is (hopefully) resolved

TL/DR I made it fine for 2 weeks but it’s dependent on how quickly your 12 volt continues to decline I can only give you my single data point, I had batt warning on last day of trip so drove home ~ 150 miles with no problem other than loss of usb power / dash cam and whatever else system shuts...

😝 funny you mention that …ranger “kid” from Tesla replaced 12 volt in my driveway in 4 minutes flat .. I didn’t see him do it but I knew time cause I unlocked car for him 4 min before arriving home and he had already closed frunk before I pulled up

I must be unlucky or not as in tune with my starters … last few ICE cars I had when my battery went out I couldn’t start it at all … no warning … I admit I‘ve never proactively replaced a starter battery either, which is interesting since I have always been very anal about car / home etc...

that may be my fault i brought up AGM and far as u have read tesla has never had AGM or any other "advanced tech" lead acid in model 3

do you recall if that was an AGM or other "advanced" lead -acid battery back then? They usually now equip cars with start/ stop with these or similar. In my experience these last family / friends 8 years plus .. where as conventional lead acid maybe 4-5 years tops .. many other factors of course

I have 20” wheels Michelin pilot sport 4s on an AWD stealth performance 3 that came with OEM 19” wheels ….I had alignment done at a very reputable / well known shop after upgrading wheels and tires when the car was new with less than 500 miles … now at ~ 22,000 all 4 tires show heavier wear on...

discovered another incentive for a HPWH .. SCE (california electric utility) added a new baseline credit a few months back to their existing TOU 4-9 and 5-9 rate programs ... starting Oct 1st if you have a HPWH they give a larger baseline allowance in summer and larger still during winter months...
