    How reliable is model x?

This is a question you should have researched before buying the car. Model X is not high on reliability, according to CR survey. This is latest cool tech. Reliability isn't its selling point. Consumer Reports puts Tesla back on recommended list as reliability improves

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

Haha, LOL. Next you will tell me that he is having a 7th kid and lives in a big mansion to be more efficient? The OP is also moving to a non-EV car because it is more efficient for him/her to not wait longer at the supercharger. You think ordinary people's time is worth much less. But...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

@TSLA Pilot , You are aware that Tesla CEO frequently shuttles in a private jet between Los Angeles and San Jose, that burns a lot of gasoline? He is also promoting individual space flights. How much gasoline do you think is burnt to take a person to space just for a joyride? Are you really a...

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

Why is everyone assuming that the OP got a big gas guzzler V8 ICE car, and a few blaming him for destroying the planet? May be he got a nice 100% renewable hydrogen powered car like this? ;) Or an efficient hybrid like the 52 mpg Toyota Camry that has almost same environmental foot print...

Review of Honda Clarity Fuel Cell Vehicle (plus planned switch to Tesla)

That is very good to hear, that Honda did the right thing no matter what it cost them, even when you only had a few months of the lease left. I find the Helium stuff really suspicious. Never heard of this. Don't know if your dealer is just trying to do unnecessary stuff to get more money from...

OK, Thanks. I read the first one. It seems to say what you said: storage cost of < 1cents/kWh. So I am having a hard time reconciling the NREL battery storage cost with this 2018 article. Hopefully the author didn't make any mistake in coming up with that 1c/kWh. There is a link for 'quietly...

I browsed all 3 links you provided, but I still don't see how you came up with these figures you wrote: "Utility solar (1-2 cents a kWh) + storage (1 cent a kWh) already lower than operating cost of coal plants and natural gas plants in 2019." I am specifically curious about your storage...

Review of Honda Clarity Fuel Cell Vehicle (plus planned switch to Tesla)

Ah, I see. A while ago, someone said it was $50k to replace the stack. To my knowledge, the way it works is Honda or special dealer rep calls up people when the stack is ready to replace. Drop the car, get it back in 1-2 weeks. I never heard of a situation like yours before, that the car is...

Review of Honda Clarity Fuel Cell Vehicle (plus planned switch to Tesla)

Was it just the water pump or fuel cell stack too? I've heard of long waits for water pumps. There was no reason for you to drop the car off for a water pump. You should have kept driving and waited for the part to arrive. The wait for the water pump, as heard, cab be 3 months.

Exactly! The station maps show how fast they run out of hydrogen. I guess that means no one is driving these cars. Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

BMW shows more EV concepts, still can’t build EVs in any significant quantity

Not quite sure what some of you are talking about walking dead. BMW is in the top 3-4 EV producers in the world. It will double the total electric cars it made in next 2 years. It just handed out its half-millionth electric car last year. BMW has I think 3 to 4 times more electrified car models...

I think that's just distance by total time. If he started from dealership and waited at red lights, his actual speed while moving was higher. He said it was 60% hwy driving at 70mph-90 mph. Is this official? Or is it the total of the best times in each segment added up? That is what I heard...

Mercedes Sells Only 500 EQCs. In Germany. With Heavy Advertising.

Isn't it because people are waiting for the German EV subsidies and Mercedes is waiting to sell in 2020 for some EU emissions credits? A similar car, Audi etron, is selling really well. It sold over 15000 just in Europe last year and another 5000+ in the US. It actually outsold Model S & X...

    Hydrogen vs. Battery

H2 in light vehicles makes lot more sense than expensive, slow charging and degrading battery cars. Let's look at the light vehicle passenger market in the US. "Tesla did not make enough cars to meet all of their demand" Sorry, I can't understand this. Tesla built a lot of more expensive LR and LR-AWD and performance inventory Model 3. OK, so...did everyone get their cars by the end of 2019?

Man, this bait and switch game looks worse than other dealerships. I have never experienced this at any dealer. At least the dealer ads say "1 @ this price". Porsche Taycan EPA range

I meant, the German autobahn speeds. EPA is testing at 60 mph. In the US also, most freeways are 65 mph and many (I-40, I-5 etc.) are 70 mph. Typical speeds of cars are 75-80 mph. On I-5, 85-90 mph is not uncommon. If Taycan drivers will be driving at 60 mph while Civic and Corolla guys whiz...

Interesting that Taycan's real range appears higher than EPA range. Is Taycan using a heat pump to use battery heat in the cabin? In this video , Matt Farah says it can transfer heat from anywhere to anywhere. That should help the range in winter. He also makes a point which is valid. If one...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

This is little sad. If people knew those cars will never get the self driving feature, they might have bought a different car too and not spend 117,000 with the hope to get FSD soon.
