    Charge port not opening

This morning I decided to try and pry it open and got it open. Then it wouldn't close. LOL! So I had to force it to close too, but now it's functioning normally again so I'm charging the car and we'll see how it does. I'm not replacing it if it's just going to be an intermittent issue that I can...

    Charge port not opening

This is mostly just venting, but if anyone has any ideas that I can try to correct this, I'd appreciate it. I went out to my garage tonight to plug my car in and the port would not open. I tried the button on the charging cable. I tried pressing on the door itself. I tried pushing the icon on...

    Camping Charging question

I did think this! LOL I reserved a cabin that has A/C so I won't need to use my car for that. Not as cheap as sleeping in the car, but worth it for the peace of mind that I won't be using up power faster than I can replace it.

    Camping Charging question

The trickle speed will be fine since the car won't be driven again for a couple days. I just wanted to be sure the 5-15 will be able to plug into the outlet of a 15amp campground hookup. I hear you. If you're gonna package it up and put a label on it, then take it to the post office in a...

    Camping Charging question

I'm not a camper, but my daughter has begged me to take her camping so we can get out of the house while still social distancing ourselves from others. We picked a place and reserved a spot that has a 15amp hookup. The only adapter I have for plugging my car in is the 5-15 that came with it. I'm...

    Did i go overboard ...

I don't think I ever was so giddy about getting a new car as I was when I ordered my Tesla! It's fun to look at all the accessories and read the forums and so on. But in the end you need to make the choices that will be best for your lifestyle. A lot of people on here are really into modifying...

Did your SR+ get rear seat heaters?

Yeah, maybe we'll have it by next winter. LOL!

A most uncomfortable road trip because...

I didn't drive my Tesla. I took my husband's Mazda 3 (with a manual transmission) on a trip because I just didn't want to extend the length of it to charge and because there was no way to charge my car at all at my destination. Stupidly left during rush hour. That was not fun for my left leg as...

    Seat adjuster knob broke off

So my daughter was trying to adjust the front passenger seat this morning and the adjuster knob that moves the back of the seat forward and backward just came off in her hand. She didn't do anything unusual, just reached down and pressed on it to adjust it back like she's done without problem on...

Did your SR+ get rear seat heaters?

Someone mentioned in another thread that Tesla pushed an update for SR+ owners to have rear seat heaters. I have yet to see that happen with my car. I have no software updates waiting and the only upgrade available for me is FSD. No rear seat heaters. Has anyone gotten this?

Sudden unexpected shift from Hold to Park at very low speed

Hmm.... I don't think lack of seat belt would do it. I sometimes back down my driveway with no seat belt on to get my mail. Don't judge me! If it's pouring rain I'd rather take my car! LOL But it's never put the car into P for that. Just dings at me to buckle up. The times when it has put it...

Any experience with 3 adults in the backseat on a trip

So true! But the 70 year olds complained too and that was a shorter trip, like 40 minutes. I just wouldn't do 3 people in the back for a road trip. It's not comfortable for that long of a ride.

    SR Purchasing Doubts

Oh, a note on relying on seat heating rather than cabin heating. I do that some, but I find I still get chilly, not cold though. But the bigger problem for me is that the SR+ only has seat heaters in the front and I often have a kid in the back. We carry a blanket in the car for them and...

    SR Purchasing Doubts

I think you'll be fine for the majority of your driving and if you have an ICE car for the few times when you aren't fine, then don't sweat it. I have the SR+ and there are a few times I wish I had gotten the LR because I didn't think about the fact that most of my road trips are in winter...

    Should a 2020 Model 3 make a warning sound?

Get a friend, spouse, or neighbor... basically someone else to walk along outside while you drive past them. Ask them if they heard your car. I'm glad to hear they're putting a little noise on the car. I often find I'm stuck following behind a slow walking person in a parking lot and they are...

Any experience with 3 adults in the backseat on a trip

I wouldn't do it. I occasionally have my 2 teenage boys and their pre-teen sister in the back and they are squished and complain about the squished, rough ride. Longest they've gone like that is about an hour and I wouldn't subject them to longer than that. Also buckling seat belts is an...

Charge loss outside over night in winter?

That's pretty tight. Don't think I'm comfortable with that in the cold weather with my 10 year old along for the ride too. This is doable! Why didn't it occur to me to go over the night before and charge up?! LOL I'm also hoping there will be an outlet outside where I can plug in over night...

Charge loss outside over night in winter?

I'm planning a road trip to an area where there is no hotel with a charger and I don't want to assume I'll find a 120v outlet outside to plug into. How much loss should I anticipate over night? Assume weather will drop into the low to mid 20's (F) during the night. There might be rain or snow...

Indiana Tesla owners and future owners

The Richmond one would be good if it happens. I-70 is a dead zone until you get to Dayton, though that's totally doable from Indy. I-74 is also a dead zone until Cincinnati, but again, it's doable from Indy. A meet-up could be fun. There's a group that meets once a month at the Carmel SC mostly...

    Model 3 with kids

I have 3 kids and went from a minivan to the M3 when my oldest got his own car and didn't ride with me much anymore. Most of the time, I only transport 2-4 people in my car. However, there are occasions when we have 4 adult sized bodies plus 1 body approaching adult size in the car at the same...

Yeah, no peak/off peak hours. How is the 3 without the HEPA filter?

Yeah it seems pretty much the same as other cars to me. I was once in a line of traffic and could tell the people in the car in front of me were smoking weed. All my windows were up and theirs were too! I didn't smell their exhaust, but I sure knew what was going on inside their car!

My car is filthy too! It does seem to be much worse in the winter than it was in the summer though. Tesla Official Statement on Range

This is where I'm at now. I've got about 4-5% loss on my battery now, but the SC says my battery is performing better than most others that were made in the same period. How much do you value SR+ to LR (AWD) range upgrade?

I kinda wish I'd had a better awareness of how the energy would be used too. I knew when I bought my SR+ that I would have a road trip every month from January to June, but most of them are under 200 miles so I figured it would be fine. I didn't take into account that they are mostly in the...

Question... I have SR+ without FSD. I do not have any enhancements to the traffic while I'm driving. Should there be? Or was that only on cars with FSD? Indiana Tesla owners and future owners

I bought the Michilan IceX tires and a set of wheels for them at the Discount Tire in Carmel. I called them before going up there and they said they had worked on Teslas before so I decided to give them a try. I bought the tires and wheels from them a few months ago and then went back in...

    Heater Issues

I think it takes some time to warm up too, but I also have never run mine over 75 degrees. I keep it at 67 once I get the cabin warmed up a bit. I use it on auto and just change the temp up and down as I see fit. Generally preheating it on 72 before I leave and then switching it to 67 once I...

I absolutely Love driving my Tesla

I love driving mine too! For all the complaining I do about various little things that bug me, I really love this car! I have never been a car person, as long as it got me from point A to point B it was good, but now I hold all other cars to the experience in my Tesla. Just love it!

Mods to my Model 3: List yours

I put the Michelin IceX tires on mine and I've been happy so far. Our neighborhood iced up a bit not long after I had them put on so I decided to take a turn a bit fast to see what happened and they held well. It felt like the car wanted to fishtail, but the tires (and car) kept it in control...

Um... did this just really happen?! SR+ rear heated seats Musk tweet!

Like others, I'd probably $200-$300 for it. If it were more than $300, I don't think so. My daughter's been doing pretty well with a fleece blanket back there so far and hasn't complained once (not even after swim practice). When we get out, we put the blanket on the front seat so that it gets...

I went on my trip today and it went well! Temperatures were warmer than what I experienced earlier in the week so I think that helped. I need to go on a road trip this weekend. It's only 116 miles. In warmer weather I wouldn't even think twice, but in this cold weather I'm wondering if I can make it there. I drive an SR+ (so supposedly 240 mile range). I can fully charge at home before leaving and there is a super charger 5...

My model 3 says full at 210 miles

The 12-22 miles difference is likely due to weather conditions. Is it raining? Is it really cold out? Are you running the heater in the car? That kind of thing will cause the range to fluctuate. I've noticed my range drop quite a bit now that it's below 30 out. Heck, it dropped when temps were...

No psi showing with winter tires?

Mine finally started to work, but showed the psi around 39-40 so I went by the tire place and had them check it. The car was reading it correctly so I had them add air to put up around 45. They actually put it up to 47 because it's cold out. I think when I had the tires changed, they filled them...

Why doesn't Mod3 user interface make reading alerts easier?

Totally agree with the OP. These messages/warnings are too small and don't stay up long enough. I usually have no idea what they say because they're gone by the time I can safely look at them. I like the idea of having them texted or emailed to me for review later. There is something audible to...
