$44 Billion seems an awful lot for a personal PR outlet, when a small, focused Tesla PR team, and strategic use of some existing media outlets could cover Tesla's needs.
If it's depressed by even a few percent in CA by Elon's "Antics", that can really add up across the country. I know of several people in my red state (NC) who have sworn off buying a Tesla.

From the Motley Fool(ish) :
"Tesla's Investor Day presentation earlier this month failed to live up to the hype, but the fast-growing automaker isn't going to slow down anytime soon. It expects to...
I wouldn't know, as we've owned Teslas for almost 4 years, and only once have had any service done, back in 2019 (Raleigh SC did give me a Model S loaner when the one day service turned into two days). Most reliable cars we've ever owned...
IIRC that's how it works on limited access/4+ lane highways. On two lane/secondary roads, you're limited to a max of 5mph over the speed limit when using Autosteer, but not limited when using TACC (or maybe a considerably higher limit? I've never tried more than 10mph over on two lane roads) .
I wish I could agree. The deep red southern states would rather start a new civil war than capitulate to such heresy as requiring solar panels on their roofs.
Fortunately the utilities here are realizing solar is the cheapest way to generate power, and since money talks, are heavily investing...
What's so odd? We needed to replace our ICE vehicle ASAP, and it was a one year+ wait for a Y Long Range (which she would have preferred), so MYP it was. It was her money, and her choice 😉.
Besides which the more efficient M3 I would have preferred is not rated to pull a trailer in the US...
I have no problem with folks who really need a truck driving one. But I guarantee you a distinct minority of these owners do in the urban and suburban world most of us live in. I've got a slew of urban cowboy relatives who are shining examples of that 🤠.
I just think it's incumbent on all of us...
This thing is an obscenity, an abomination. I'm already concerned that 80% of Cybertrucks will be used primarily for grocery runs and soccer kid transport, when a much more efficient M3 or MY would suffice. But this is off the charts, and subverts the mission.
Let's keep our eyes on the prize...
Hey, that's normal daily summer temperature here in the southeast USA. Biking in my hilly town does tend to be a sweat-inducing proposition, which is why I use an ebike to get around town in the summer 🙂. 50 miles/kWh beats even our Tesla handily for efficiency.
In NC, USA cars don't have front license plates. I rarely am able to make out the rear plates in Sentry videos. So unless I catch someone while their car is still parked there (also rare), it's questionable how likely Sentry is to help me in an incident...
I'm one of those alienated. I've been a Tesla evangelist since buying our first one 3 years ago. I've never been a Musk fan boy, but tolerated him when he stuck to improving/expanding the Tesla product line.
Now I have to conclude that I have bought my last Tesla as long as he remains CEO, and...
Yes, it is charging. Though the Electrify America and Chargepoint stations I've tried seem pretty finicky, requiring repeated attempts to charge, and sometimes dropping out mid charge. Not quite as 'plug and play' as Supercharging...
Tried my new Tesla US CCS adapter today at a DC fast charger.
The narrow pin at the top front does not fully retract when mounting on the CCS cable, and inserted into my MYP charge port. This leaves the assembly rather tenuously attached to the car during charging.
Is this normal, or is my...
Have you checked with Brad at "The Digital Chassis, LLC" in Durham, NC? I have him do my Tesla alignments, and he's a bit of local legend for doing suspension and tire work on the Porsches and other high end sports cars in the region.
He's difficult to reach by phone (perpetually full voice...
The notion FSD could ever work in a Vision-only system is just laughable. What happens when an ego maniacal CEO tail wags the corporate dog...
I'm sure the engineers know it, and must be pulling their hair out trying to deal with the inherent limitations.
Love the cars, but the current...
Particularly aggravating as there is no 'Resume' function for either AP or even Cruise Control...
I mean every rinky dink car I've driven for the last 20 years has had Resume.
Passed by the Raleigh, NC store today and stopped for a look. The lot was absolutely crammed with mostly new Teslas. I didn't see ours there (picking up ours Thursday); it might have been inside getting prepped. Most of the new Y's were MYPs, and all but one had all season tires. FIt and...
When I asked about which tires were on mine via email, I got this reply:
"They have MICHELIN_ALL_SEASON_21” "
Which looks like they cut and pasted that from some build list/doc...
Or from some generic doc that was not specific to my car - who knows?
I'll find out Thursday at pickup.
We're at 37K miles on our April 2019 SR+, and predicted range has recently plummeted from ~218 miles to 205 miles. I charged it to 100% yesterday before a road trip, and it did display the 205. That puts it at down about 15% from the original 240 miles...
90%+ of our charges are at home...
We just got our VIN, and I'm told by our SA we'll be getting All Season tires, too. Though I did already pick up a set of 19" Geminis (with A/S Connies on them) for potential winter use, or for more range on long road trips.
We're in Chapel Hill, and summer tires would be unusable almost half...
Couldn't you just change your current order from MYP to MYLR? That will push your EDD to early next year, and you'll get the price in effect when you originally ordered. Then round about December you could change the order back to MYP if that's what you really wanted. And thus you'd get the new...
And waiting, and waiting, and waiting...
Actually no big deal for me as I live only a couple of miles away, and charge at home. I would have to be desperately low on electrons at the end of a long run to have to use this Supercharger!
I've got a MYP on order, and picked up a set of 19" MY Gemini wheels for winter use.
If I have the 19's on the car, and want to throw in one of the Uberturbines as a spare when I'm headed to more remote areas of the state, will a MY Uberturbine front tire/wheel fit on the rear of an MYP in a...
Got my EDD pushed out a few days, and the 2nd date pulled in a couple. Doubt it means much - clearly nothing happening until middle of the next quarter for east coast orders...
