    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I still don't understand why others can edit their configuration while mine has said "You cannot edit design at this time" for a while now.
  2. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Same. Mine changed to June 7-June 21 this morning. LoL
  3. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

    Crossing my fingers for you.
  4. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Just saw one available in inventory in Bakersfield with your exact config. See if you can pick that up.
  5. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Wow, happy for the PNW folks finally getting some VINgasm action. Now the FOMO is starting to creep that Tesla just went and decided to leapfrog those of us in Northern CA (Capital at that for me!)! 😅
  6. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

@M3PDenver on the graphics and chart tab, the colors are all wonky for the interior and exterior order charts (black to indicate white and vice versa) and it's weird. lol
  7. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Mine was doing the same until today, and now it says May 30-June 8. Like you, I'm also going on a trip on the 12th and won't be back until July 2nd. So the latest June date I can take delivery is the 11th. I'm hoping Tesla will let me hold it until my return. Edit: still no VIN for me.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Are you referring to the ION EVO summer tires or the AS ones? I thought there were two versions.
  9. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

To be fair, the plaid needs the same prepped strip, optimized battery temps, and cheetah mode to hit its advertised 1.99 0-60 as well. I think what you’re saying is the drop off from that advertised time isn’t as significant as ICE cars because it can hit 2.1-2.2 0-60 anytime on the streets.

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

If his frame of reference is the highland RWD and LR, that's still a significant improvement over the 2019 M3LR I had based on my test drive of the highland LR. Not sure how the 21-23 M3P held up with cabin noise given they got dual pane windows in the front.
  11. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Same with our MXLR. Have only changed it to "chill" mode when transporting stuff as cargo that was fragile, or food/beverages that could potentially spill. Otherwise, it's on insane mode by default. It's not the mode that matters, but rather how you use it (aka how heavy your foot is). lol

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Yeah, I actually have family that lives in Oregon. Learning this got me wondering if maybe...hmm. 🤔😅

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Thanks for sharing this. I like to blend a bit of both form and function. I'll likely never track my car, but I can expect to take it canyon carving occasionally, and overall want to maintain its oem driving dynamics feel. So while I know any mods in the wheels and tires can affect driving...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Fair point about the wheel design being a big factor. I'm waiting on the afternarket vendors to develop replicas of the oem 20s in 18s and 19s sizes and having different options for the aero inserts like carbon fiber or different colors. That said, I'm also considering the following setup that...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I was curious about something given the talk of understeer and oversteer. Which of these setups would provide better range assuming both were on summer tires: 265/35r19 squared with 19x9.5 wheels OR the oem setup: 235/35r20 20x9 and 275/30r20 20x10

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

If you're talking about the rapper, nah. I came way before him lol. Meaning I've used P-Lo as my nickname since my friends anointed me with it in high school in the 90s. I have my Gmail account as a receipt to prove it too. Lol
  18. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

That's correct. If you recall the leather bras used on the front end of cars back in the day, it's the same concept. But this time with clear protective film, similar to what was used on phone screens and laptops as well. I'm not sure it has any effect on a lease. But imo, if I'm leasing, I...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I love stealth grey too. I was actually set on keeping it when I first ordered. But I also knew I was going to put a PPF clear bra on it as well as get it ceramic coated. This would have already put me in the 2k range for these. And after learning that one of the wrap shops near me was offering...
  20. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

It's one thing if SG was free for one of the models, but that 48% is just for this m3p. It's also the free color for ALL of the other Tesla models, so stealth grey is going to be everywhere, esp with all the model Y's Tesla is trying to clear. One of my friends and one of my coworkers ordered...

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Yeah the fun in driving a car isn't primarily from straight line speed 0-60. I have driven an S, and currently own an X, and they both feel like boats. Straight line, the X is the quickest car i've ever owned. But, I still much prefer the driving dynamics of a compact sports sedan for everyday...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Shogun is the best tv show I've watched this year. Fallout comes second.
  24. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

That's the point. The EDD is just something Tesla provides to appease us during the wait. It really does not have any significance whatsoever, because it would be even worse without one. It's closer (and i'm saying this very loosely) to possibly indicate how close we are to getting a VIN, but...
  25. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I'm in a facebook group this person is in and they shared more photos and a couple videos showing how to take out the covers. It's much harder than previous aero covers on Tesla's wheels, and would actually require removing the wheel.
  26. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

There's been much discussion about the lack of fog lights. Personally, I would rather have ultrasonic sensors over the fog lights. Plus, there are plenty of top performance trims from other manufacturers that don't have fog lights. That said, it's hard to disagree that these were reduced to...
  27. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I wonder if it's from the popularity of Shogun. 😅
  28. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Agreed the ultra red is gorgeous. I was surprised at how good it looked when we first took delivery of our ultra red MXLR. I would've easily ordered that color if we hadn't gotten it already.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

My sentiments exactly. I had a g20 M340 that I sold for this car for the same rationale.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Very true. I'm assuming you're rounding off, cause it was actually 45.5k for me after the tax credit. 😜
  31. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Not sure about ALL accessories. But, the interior is the same across all highland trims. The only difference is the M3P has carbon fiber.
  32. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

You're on point with this. I tested this out this morning at 7am local time, and as soon as I refreshed it, my EDD changed from 5/24-6/7 to 5/25-6/7. I wonder, do VINs get pushed out at 7am too? Or do they get pushed out at random anytime throughout the day?
  33. P-Lo801

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Absolutely. I mentioned it in the waiting room thread. When I was a teenager watching the first Fast and Furious movie, the whole notion of having a 10 second car was just fiction and fantasy to me, and more of a reality for racing companies or the rich to build one. Never fathomed in my...

  35. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I think protectors for the rear screen are definitely a must. For the front, I like to add a matte screen to reduce glare and reflection, otherwise it's a matter of preference whether you think you need some kind of protective screen on it. If you know you'll be bringing dogs and leaving them in...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Thanks for this. I was thinking of roller coasters as an analogy too, but wasn't sure how they compare with the g forces from instant torque. I've launched our MXLR on freeway on ramps plenty of times with her in the car (0-60 in 3.8s); and she's done it herself a few times while driving too. I...
  37. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

haha fair enough. I don't even know how I'd try to phrase this question to an OBGYN either if they're not familiar with the concept of the g forces from instant torque.
  38. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Random question: my wife is four months pregnant. I'm assuming it wouldn't be safe to let her feel the 0-60 launch from this car when she rides in it.
  39. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I'm with you. I had a difficult time deciding to sell it. I had it in sunset metallic orange with the basic bolt ons and coilovers; still haven't sold my coils yet either haha. I was going to eventually tune it, but decided that i'm in a point in my life where I don't want to deal with any...

Not to breach privacy, but he also mentioned in his live video that he's a bigger fella weighing over 250lbs.
  43. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

In that case then... I'm to the moon even more excited about this car!! I never thought i'd ever own a 10-second car, since that idea was first introduced to me by the first Fast and Furious movie LOL. And for this to cost over 35% cheaper than the BMW M3 lowest trim is just beyond insane (pun...

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I think they should be posted in the announcement thread actually; either way, I don't think they belong here for too long because it will just cause more FOMO on top of derailing the thread topic lol. @jjrandorin can help move them.

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

These will definitely be prone to curb rash; the front wheel/tire combo are the same specs as the previous m3p uberturbine wheels (20x9 235/35r20). The width of the tires are just about matching the width of the wheels (9" = 228mm, OEM front tires are 235mm, 10" = 254mm, OEM rear tires are...

  48. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Totally fair point. So, put this way then: with EDDs, you don't have SA's contacting you to schedule a delivery date. But once you get a VIN, the tasks become more pertinent to complete, and thus, Tesla becomes more proactive with communications and we start receiving more messages, to the point...
  49. P-Lo801

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I don't blame you for feeling that way at all either. Still, a VIN at least signals that delivery is coming, more so than the EDDs do. This is just bizarre with this delay happening due to a firmware.
