I tried to add pictures to my previous post but upload failed. I will add pictures later today (finnish time) and will look up the price I paid.

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

I really tried to find the video where updated model 3 was teared down and small changes noted, but could not find it at the moment. It was in german and I used auto-translated subs. But basically the change was to the ball joint location of upper-control arm and knuckle. It’s not really visible...

    B / C pillar seal

I bought highlands left B-pillar glass assembly, it does not fit older model. Connection points are the same but camera and card reader connectors are different. I thought about swapping out cameras and other modules but some is molded in. So eventually I took only the gasket I modified it to...

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

When researching highland suspension I found out that highland has different geometry front knuckles and upper control arms. Upper control arm connection point to knuckle has been changed towards back of the car. So I am fairly confident that upper control arms from highland won’t fit with older...

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

Handling is a bit worse. It’s softer so it rolls a bit more during cornering and overall feels less percise. But nothing mayor, tradeoff is rather small given how much better overall ride quality is. If you are not sure - just test drive a new Model 3. It will not be as soft, but about 90% there.

In your case I would go with RWD dampers. Yours is a LR with a heavy battery and no front drive unit. New RWD also has heavy battery (due to LFP chemistry) and no front drive unit. Rear dampers are the same anyway.

    No difference in road noise.

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

Yes, the clunking noise was over small bumps/imperfections in the road. Similar to the noise that stabilizer end links do when they are worn out. As I wrote earlier, I disassembled everything, retorqued everything to factroy spec, but the noise remained. Then I reinstalled factory shocks and...

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

Highland DM and rear drive have similar weight, DM is only 63kg heavier. So maybe the difference is so small that they can get away with same dampers? Front dampers might also be the same, but as they are sold as a assembly, it’s hard to know. Maybe only the springs differ?

    B / C pillar seal

It most likely comes with camera and NFC module. Part number description is ”LEFT HAND DRIVE-ASSEMBLY B PILLAR APPLIQUE LEFT HAND” I guess we will find out if HW4 pillar camera works with HW3 or if there is possible to swap cameras from old part. Part should arrive in 2 weeks.

Thanks! Just ordered highland model B-pillar glass, this is starting to be expensive. Door seals were around 100€ a piece and B-pillar glass is 330€.

    B / C pillar seal

Yes, I have already ordered and installed highland model door seals. All except rear left, Tesla has f up delivery of that one. They sent me two of the rear right ones. I filled the gaps between door glass and B/C pillar with simple D-profile seal from hardware store, it works but is not good...

    B / C pillar seal

I have 2023 Model 3 and I had a ride in a new 2024 'highland' model. It seems that a lot of soundproofing of the updated model is down to better door seals. I can clearly hear other cars and outside noises coming in through door seals in my old model 3. I checked door seals on both cars and they...
