I trimmed the lip of the second piece closer to the seats. It seems like it sits flat with the tire in there, but I notice a peak in my cargo cover. It's fine, but the OCD in me wants to iron it. Also, the case I have supporting the near side of the tire is about an inch too short.

Why not both? I wouldn't pick the color based on cabin heat. Wife's white car had clear ceramic on the roof and I have a two-piece mesh shield on the blue. I feel the heat more only because I'm taller and my head is closer to the glass.

There are ways to strap it down, but the space between the rear headrests and roof is too small to allow it the reach any passengers.

So, now that almost two years have passed, any new quiet tires in 275/40-20?
