    Cyber owl is from Bladerunner

Syd Mead, the artistic director of the Blade Runner movie who did all the production and set design, has said that he loves the truck and that he is very proud that Musk has cited him and his Blade Runner style as an inspiration for the vehicle.

    OMG that truck is fugly!

I love that Cybertruck design. It has instantly made all other pick up trucks look dated and stale.

    OMG that truck is fugly!

IIRC it was in a Penthouse magazine from the late 70s. I saw an article about that design and the similarity to the Cybertruck. It was on jalopnik com I think. The guy who designed that concept sent an original issue of the magazine to the jalopnik writer.

Tesla Cybertruck Orders Hit 146K in Two Days

I dont think we are going to see many order cancellations and deposit refunds. You either really hate this truck (and would never put down a deposit) or you really love it. And this time people KNOW there will be no tax credit unlike with the Model 3 where it ran out in the middle of productiokn.

Will you switch from AWD to AWD-P?

Do we already know what the actual difference between the normal AWD and the AWD-P will be? I know the P will get motors that have been hand picked off the production line, but assuming those have slightly better efficiency and everything else is the same as standard AWD the power gain would be...

Rumored 130 kWh Model S in light of Roadster announcement

Not sure where exactly I read it, but I do seem to recall some battery expert (from Tesla?) saying that charging higher is always preferable to draining lower. Especially if you do not let the fully charged battery sit for long periods after charging I guess.

Will eVTOLs take over the commercial small-helicopter market?

Companies may attempt to bring those things to market ... but when people actually experience the reality (constant annoying noise, and the occasional evtol falling out of the sky onto their heads or houses) they will raise such a legal shitstorm those things won't be any more widespread than...

[POLL] Will base model M3 beat the Chevy Bolt's 238 mile EPA range?

Once they have a grip on production they ought to offer an intermediate battery, with 265-270 miles, for $4500 more. That'd be perfect.

Loving the overheat protection this summer!

I know what you're talking about ... ca 20 years ago I spent four weeks on vacation in the US, in California, Utah and Arizona. My family and I had rented a pitch black Chrysler Neon. Whenever we opened the doors of that thing after it had been sitting ina parking lot for a few hours it was like...

NBA all star drives Tesla vs flying

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but it is perfectly possible he just has a deadly fear of flying ...

    Ferris Bueller Sequel

Yeah, but this time nobody giggled.

    Ferris Bueller Sequel

Well, I guess from now on he will NEVER valet his treasured cars again. Looking at the picture it seems like the airbags went off. Maybe the two little punks got a bit of tinnitus as a lifelong reminder not to crash other people's cars out of their "prank".

    100D is here

I wish Tesla would offer a brushed aluminium interior along with the wood and the black lacquer. It would cost them only pennies as they have already got the stamping presses and the aluminium sheets for the other parts of the car. I bet it could be stamped out from the same sheets, wherever...

    P85 modded to be a P85 w/Ludicrous

On a side note, you just know that somewhere, in some office on on some plane, Elon Musk is reading this thread, unable to decide whether to smile or shake his head.

    P85 modded to be a P85 w/Ludicrous

I was so proud that I managed to change the tires on my Fiat without any major hiccups today ... unlike the 4-hour slapstick comedy of mishaps and errors that my last oil-and-filter change was ...
