Funny thing, I was running on Ethernet for the past three years and it started getting very unstable and rebooting all the time. Only turned the WiFi back on as an experiment.

And now the WiFi can't find any available networks. Junky network module just locks up!

10 days with no issues and now 2 reboots in the last 12 hours. The randomness is bizarre.

Personally $2000 might be worth it, but $9500 definitely isn't (if you lose the tax credit due to paint colors).

Better question is why didn't they know that one of the units failed a firmware update!

PW3 seem more secure since they hide the password, but with PW+ the password is printed on the cover and it's only five characters anyway. A lot of the devices are located outside and easily accessible. You certainly can lock the covers, but most people aren't going to do that.

Did you get an alert in the app that the grid was down? Very unusual for the Gateway breaker to trip. Breakers do go bad sometimes, so also something to have Tesla (or an electrician) check out.

Usually within the limits of your utility. If your utility doesn't care, then Tesla will often sell you whatever you want.

I understand why it needs 192.168.91.1, but why does it require the QR code? Shouldn't connecting to the Gateway WiFi and using that IP address work the same way? Or is that just how the logic is coded in the app?
