    Starlink and Ukraine War discussion

Might be handier if they just route all traffic into a DMZ that Ukraine has control of, and they can sniff where traffic is going to determine whether the traffic is likely friendly, and give Ukraine the ability to remove turn on/off individual units. Basically give them all the tools to both...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'd buy an upgrade to ryzen mcu for my atom based model 3 if they'd let me.

Yikes, the stitching looks rough in the area where the lid and base meet. I hope this is a rejected test sample and not indicative of parts going into production.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The only question now is if it applies to all FSD (including highway) or just end-to-end NN FSD (which is city streets only still AFAIK - I believe highway is still on the old NN stack from before end to end). Maybe this new release will bring us end to end for highway? The hoped for eventual...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Maybe - in which case they could eliminate the passenger sensor unless it's legally required (i.e. whatever regulation requiring different airbag responses based on weight in the seat, might not allow a vision solution without an update to the rules) Actually... That could conceivably be an...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Why remove the seat sensor? Is it different from sensor used to enable/disable front passenger airbags, and seatbelt warnings for occupied seats (rear and front passenger at least), etc? Also IIRC if you have the door open and get out of the seat the car notices and reacts to that too? Removing...

    Tesla Annual Shareholder Meeting

I would like to reinstate his existing plan, because we did collectively pass it and the company did meet the required metrics, and the fact some activist legal BS took away our collective agency. But I also share concerns about the focus on robotaxi vs more affordable vehicles. It might or...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

87%? I'm not sure if his minions just failed to properly steal the election or if they failed to properly hide they were stealing the election. I feel like that number should be either much higher or lower ... I mean we all know it wasn't a real election, so it's not like he'd be fooling anyone...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Even implemented on such a platform, I imagine that overall efficiency (power consumed vs power hitting target) would likely favor a few devices mounted along the platform, crossing their streams so to speak, versus one big device. Unless perhaps the one big device was a bunch of smaller devices...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

The concept of HERF guns has been around on the Internet for a long time. I remember reading about people trying to DIY them in the late 90's on some early websites, along with other such fun topics as railguns. Simple in concept, there are many hacky (and questionably executed) examples...

    Tesla Unionization

If that really happened you can bet they set up more than one and are ready to switch the registration as soon as the union catches on and adds it to the strike :D

    Tesla Unionization

I'm amused how surprised they are that "only" less than 2/3 of management think Tesla should possibly (yes+maybe) be coerced into a similar agreement to the one other companies already labor under. When from my point of view, I'm surprised that nearly half are definitely for forcing the issue...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I am somewhat darkly amused by the concept of the Pope (apparently) supporting Russia since ostensibly, Russia (or rather, the Russian Orthodox church) wouldn't recognize the Pope's authority ... Sadly, seems about par for the course for "unlikely" "allies" of Russia, honestly.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

What if Ukraine grants some conveniently placed and shaped territory as an Embassy (making it legally French territory, in theory) right in the line of advance without giving Russia time to communicate the change before the Russian units cross into it, would that trigger it? Actually come to...
