Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I was at the mall this weekend for Mother’s Day and stopped into another Tesla showroom. Asked them to look up my order (as one does) and about M3P
orders out of Fremont in general.

That SA said he believes no cars will get delivered to anyone out of Fremont before June 1. He thinks anyone with a mid May delivery will be waiting a few more weeks.

I think we will just need to see when those with a VIN can actually schedule
their deliveries.

I believe there's a couple people in here with VIN's and scheduled delivery dates of mid-May.

A SA said that i can use wifi from my car… I don’t think they always know what’s going on or have any valid inside knowledge.

According to the tracker, there is only one VIN, and it's not really real. It's because he converted an order from Jan 13th that was a LR.

Yeah, they are clueless. We have more insight than those folks for the most part.

Yeah - I happened to be by a Tesla dealership last week and thought, wth, let's see if they know when they are getting a M3P for the showroom. I went in and asked the SA and she said "Oh, we have one! It's out in the demo drive space, want to see it?". Of course I was like hell yeah! She takes me out and shows me a model 3 LR. I said "no,no, this isn't the new performance model". She said "yes it is, it's the Highland!!!" ... I had to explain to her that there is a new performance model recently released and she just looked at me with a blank stare on her face. so, generally I think the SA's dont really get the info /training on actually knowing much about the cars.

Pretty much the local sales people know nothing more than the same rumors we read.
But that's pretty bad they didn't at least understand the lineup of models!

All dealer sales people are like this also. Absolutely clueless.

Painful, to be fair, any time I go to a dealer, I am always 100% more informened than the sales rep. I have too much spare time and too much passion for cars. For them, it's a job.

Maybe the larger point is that I don't think they get company newsletters about deliveries, VIN assignments, or other interesting insider info that we don't have access to.

If you have the option to remove it, I would. The subscription is the better play because you could total your car the day after you get it and lose FSD (and the insurance company won't recognize your software purchase). Maybe my tune will change when you can tie FSD to your account, but that day will also be the day you can't buy it anymore and they won't allow you to move your FSD from your car to your account.

I’ve received 80% for FSD, boost, tint, PPF and ceramic coating on a total loss 3 in the past. Def hire a DV specialist.

My sales person was really knowledgeable. When I told him I would probably be ordering the Performance, he immediately got excited and was talking specs and features that had just been released 3 days prior. I was impressed. Now I'm also pretty sure he got fired since then, he may have known too much for their sales team.
I am not sure what do you mean by the VIN no being really real.. I got my VIN yesterday and the request to upload the insurance.
I wouldn't say it wasn't real, more "special". Like a unicorn in a field of donkeys. We are the jackasses that can't believe your fortune, and just want to know what it feels like to live, like you, as a unicorn. Hopefully soon all of us will know.

I am not sure how special it is to wait since Jan 13th lol I switched to the Performance because it looks really nice :) so why not .. I guess is the reward to wait for a car for almost 5 months lol

I waited from April

I waited from April 2022 til December 2022 for my 2023 MYP which was my first Tesla. Totally worth the wait I gotta say. At least I got a 2023 Model with the new hairpin motor for my wait.
