We’re excited to formally introduce a new format for 2024 – Club Events! Model 3 Challenge Club Events will be run similar to a typical Time Attack format. In addition, the only modifications needed to your Model 3 are racing brake pads and brake fluid!​

MassTuning TrackFest​

We’ve partnered with New England’s most prominent grassroots track day organizer – MassTuning. With over thirty events this year, we look forward to a continued partnership to bring electric vehicle competition to the racetrack. MassTuning runs relaxed and fun track day events and Time Attack’s throughout the year in the north east. If you want more track time, make sure to sign up for their events!

Canaan Motor Club​

Canaan is a relatively new racetrack to the NorthEast, having opened in 2016, and features a 1.3 mile racetrack with eleven turns. The track features fast sweepers, tight technical sections, off-camber corners and elevation changes – perfect for an electric platform! With plenty of runoff and a friendly design, you can get up to speed quickly!

Canaan’s management is environmentally conscious and forward thinking. The track had already installed five Level 2 Chargers, and thanks to Mountain Pass Performance’s donation, will soon have nine Level 2 chargers available at the track! These chargers, combined with the motor club’s massive 30kW+ Solar System help to support electric vehicle racers.

Time Attack Format​

Competitors will be given practice and multiple competition sessions per day, allowing ample time to set a single fast lap. The fastest lap of the event dictates the winner! Competitors will be ranked based upon their fastest time of the weekend.

Highland Model 3​

We’ve performed enough validation on the Highland platform to officially welcome them to our Club Events! So, whether new or old, please come out with your Model 3 and join us for an exciting weekend in New Hampshire!

We're only three weeks away from our first Club Event! If you don't have a Model 3, or don't want to modify the vehicle with brake pads and fluid, you can still sign up for the MassTuning Electric Day which is open to ALL EV's! Come out and join your fellow enthusiasts for a day of on-track fun and enjoyment! Instructors will be available for those of you new to the sport!

The Model 3 Challenge had another epic event – this time at a track brand new to us – Canaan Motor Club! In total, over a dozen EV’s tackled the track over the weekend, and our Club Time Attack format was both fun and a success!

With onsite Level 2 charging and a relatively short track, most competitors were able to avoid needing to hit a Supercharger to enjoy lots of laps! We had eight sessions throughout the weekend, giving competitors the opportunity for nearly THREE hours of track time! We welcomed back some return competitors, and welcomed some new ones into the fold as well.

Saturday, May 18th​

Our weekend began with two morning practice sessions for competitors to familiarize themselves with the track and with their cars. Saturday afternoon held our qualifying session where we saw our top 3 competitors all within a second of one another. Our final session of the day saw the gap close to only 2-tenths of a second!

Sunday, May 19th​

Our second day of competition featured exclusively electric vehicles on-track! With plenty of available time, competitors were able to find lots of gaps on the racing surface to set their fast-laps.

In our second round of competition, we saw the gap between Josh and Rudy close to a mere 2.4-hundreths of a second with a fast lap of a 1:04.183. David wasn't out of it yet, laying down a lap only 8-tenths behind.

In our following session, Josh started off by managing to to shave nearly a half-second off his lap-time with a 1:03.673, taking what looked to be a solid lead over the field. However, Rudy fought back, and just a few minutes later jumped nearly a full second to drop a 1:03.182 lap time! With only one session left to go, could Josh pull off an upset win? Ultimately, Rudy held on to the lead and finished P1. Josh finished P2, with David close behind in P3.

What a way to wrap up an incredible weekend! Everyone left with their cars intact, and lots of laps under their belts. We had a great time running all these cars together, and we can’t wait for Lime Rock Park!

Featured Competitor​

Mike traveled all the way from Ohio to join the Model 3 Challenge at Canaan Motor Club! Mike has been a long-time Model 3 owner, but this was his first time taking it out on track! Mike had some experience driving in the twisties, but being able to unleash the Model 3 to its full potential looked to be an absolute blast! Mike improved nearly every session, shaving seconds off at a time. Mike also didn’t hesitate to take advantage of the available track-time, driving 31 laps in the final two sessions! Great job Mike, we can’t wait to have you join us on-track again!
