Where a state only allows pricing per unit time, they vary the price based on power ranges. Bolt would always be burned by the width of the range, but others not so much. Site isn't yet on the Tesla app for Magic Dock users.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Some of the brands are owned by the same group. BYD has 4 brands, SAIC has 7, Geely has 4 we don't see in the USA. So knowing _actually_ how many different brands there are would be difficult.

    Just kill it off already

Hmm. _Maybe_. Tesla's approach differed from the other companies and shaped plans and policy. Tesla's success also helped California increase ZEV requirements for the 2016-2025 years, and it helped give the EU an obvious alternative after Dieselgate broke in September 2015. Crucially, it in...

They might have brought the Velite over but just about that time high tariffs got slapped on Chinese cars. It was around the time of The End of the Sedan and multiple companies had to adjust strategy. (GM did try to bring the Cadillac CT6 PHEV over and it was a sales disaster.)

Tesla’s solar division to be responsible for Supercharger charging network

The headline is "solar division", but the article says "solar and battery" division, which essentially means Tesla Energy. Without a separate division for Supercharging, Tesla Energy is the natural home.

India's a tough one. It's only just reduced population growth below replacement, and being hotter than China overall, there's more latent electricity demand growth. It's also obvious that it has enormous solar potential. The challenge is that it's a very protectionist country in a constant...

Did Tesla really lay off their entire Supercharger staff

It depends on how fast they can get full approval and the money. Maine has had 2 rounds awarded, plus some destination DCFC pairs awarded already. Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Mexico, Utah, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Indiana have all given at least provisional awards. I may have missed some.

Future money. Money already committed isn't pulled back. So some would still be built, but anything not already fully approved would not get funding. (Also not American, but occasionally pay attention to politics.)

Closest Supercharger is currently Portland, ME about 5 1/2 miles away but there's one under construction 1 1/2 miles away at a hotel in Scarborough. Of course Maine also has no Tesla store or service center, so they'd need to send somebody like a mobile tech to do drive-by charging.

Installer recommends an electric garage heater. Is it necessary? I’m in the Chicago land area

No. It uses a heat pump, which moves heat from outside the car into the car. Net heating would be however much energy the heat pump uses itself. :D $2.1k for electric heaters!? You need to heat the car, not the garage! Better to use the built-in pre-conditioning of the battery off the plug...
