I believe the guidance gets down to the minerals being used in cell production. Even though 4680s are made in Austin, the minerals are being sourced elsewhere outside the US so the vehicle would not qualify for the full $7500 after the guidance is issued.

I don't believe so as you'd have to add the car to your Tesla account and no way to do that as Hertz controls that. Maybe sometime in the future, who knows. No way to add your phone as key. Stuck with key card for lock/unlock and drive.

The 11th position on the VIN indicates production location. F = Fremont, A = Austin. Midwest and East Coast are more than likely going to be Austin built.

I can attest the validity of this! 7 seat Ys are solely made in Fremont. Picked up our MYLR7 last Sat equipped with matrix headlights.

No mud flaps here either on East Coast.

I waited till pick up and the manufacture date was printed on the Monroney label (new car sticker) 01/2023 there was no specific date but received VIN 1/9 so I assume it was either first week in Jan or maybe the day VIN was assigned. Hopefully this helps.
