Fun encounter tonight in Sausalito, Ca. My Roadster is in the back, and the one in the front has a cool bicycle rack, as it is appropriate in Marin! :)

That body shop in Sunnyvale already has Roadster experience and already has done a good job repairing mine once, so they have my trust. :)

Inaugural trip back to SF after having picked up my Roadster in LA, almost 2 years ago. Completely random meeting of a red Roadster and his friendly owner on 17-Mile-Drive in Carmel on my way back home.

The best way to spend a Saturday afternoon in San Francisco is to have some stupid SUV backing up into your Roadster in a parking garage while you are at a stop behind it. "I'm sorry, I didn't see your car." Now joining the club of Roadster body parts hunters. Front right fender for sure...

Can you please specify how long after approximately? 10 seconds? 1 minute? Meaning, the screen goes from black/off to on with the "Memory stick transfer in progress. Please do not remove." message on it? Thank you!

OK, I got the car back from the repair shop (unrelated issue) on Friday so I just tried to unplug-replug the VMS as shown in the other thread. Was very easy. BUT absolutely no effect on my USB drive recognition problem. The car screen shows nothing when I plug in the USB drive. Not even an error...

Sorry, I meant: any error message as you inserted the USB drive, before you did the reboot?

Wiztecy, who described the trick in that post, mentioned "an error USB stick failure". Did you have any kind of error message on your display before trying the reboot? I have nothing, no reaction, no error message at all.
