    Toyo Proxies / Kal Tire

That’s a BS reason and you should go elsewhere.

Anyone considering jumping onto the "Highland"?

Why ask the question about something that doesn’t exist yet? 🤷‍♂️ I get that new stuff is hype and all, but this hasn’t been spoken of by Tesla yet. Pointless to think about it until it becomes a reality.

    Atlantic Canada Superchargers

It is one of a couple potential locations, but there as yet been no physical signs that the site is being actioned. I’ve been there myself twice looking for confirmation and have seen nothing.

    Canada - FSD rollout

I know I ain’t giving my FUSC up, even if I rarely use it.

Anyone have call drops when in reverse?

I believe the ‘media computer’ (the one that’s built into the touchscreen) costs about $2k CDN.

Is Tesla Canada changing their loaner policy?

I’ve gotten a loaner even when I didn’t ask for one the last two times I’ve been there. They even remembered that the 3 is a little small for my 6’ 2” frame and had a Y on hand. 😝

For those who purchased or upgraded to a 2023, are you happy with your decision, knowing what you now know about your vehicle?

Even my 2017 has the side cams available. Typically, I have the repeaters and rear cam up at all times because it gives me a better view of what’s going on around me.

For those who purchased or upgraded to a 2023, are you happy with your decision, knowing what you now know about your vehicle?

A front bumper cam would be useless IMHO, far too easy to get it completely occluded and rendered blind.

    Premium connectivity plan

There is another way, My Tesla or something similar. I don’t have the link handy though.

It’s more that USS isn’t accurate below a foot (30 cm) All USS can do is tell if an object is between 3 feet and 1 foot away. *shrug*

Possible. I have not changed any settings, so they’re all in default.

    Canada - FSD rollout

Yeah, dug this thread back up 😝 Just got the latest FSD update. Lotta good improvements, a few edge cases still present, but I wanted to ask if anyone else is having their car camp in the passing lane on highways in FSD? It’s a little disconcerting. Occasionally it’ll go back into the right...

Toronto: tire rebalance on the weekend

Snow can do that too. Only thing I don’t like about stock rims is that it’s near impossible to clean snow outta them. 😝

Windows no longer roll up when cold

Did it try to move at all if you hit the switch? If so it just means Ice had formed at the base of the window and was naming it open. Best bet is at least 15 min preheat, if not longer. I default to 30 mins, but I’ve got an X, so there’s more interior space to warm up.

    In-app Extended Warranty

TBH, I’ve never liked the idea of purchasing extra warranty coverage. You’re basically paying money on the off chance that something MIGHT happen that is covered. I’d rather keep my money and only pay if something DOES happen.

Climate failing to activate from app.

I have only seen this where either the car or the phone is on wifi, and the other is on cell data.

Does installing a hitch void your M3 warranty?

That, or a plug in dongle for the trailer hitch electrical connector to do the same. Might shut off AP doing it that way though.

    Slip start is amazing!

TBF, I’ve only ever used SS at truck pulls. 🤣

Does Tesla Barrie Innisville have loaners

Uh….. why do they need to dismantle the front end for a stuck window on the door?
  21. Vawlkus

Does installing a hitch void your M3 warranty?

Sadly that act does not exist in Canada, and is effectively useless as a result.

I know. I had to replace my front two last year for torn seals.

    Insurance claim with Aviva

it strikes me as very odd that an insurance company would NOT cover a manufacturer repair over 3rd party. I think there's some f***ery going on here.
  24. Vawlkus

Cold weather and smart air suspension issue

If it's just the rear, that's likely a seal issue on those two shocks.

    shouldn't be.
  26. Vawlkus

Cold weather and smart air suspension issue

There is another issue: this is typically caused by water ingress into the compressor, which is nitrogen charged. At the very least, the system must be purged and recharged with nitrogen. The compressor itself may also need replacement. When this happens, the car is still safe to drive...

    Wiki Canadian Trip Planning

I dunno if it helps, but there’s a couple I know that make an annual trip from NS to Florida during the summer. About the only thing they’ve mentioned is to be careful around New York: you do not want to go through there during rush hour.

Real world M3 RWD (standard battery) Range

Speaking for my Model X (not the same obviously) I rarely see more than 10% loss during winter. TBH, range drops like that are almost never the car or the battery, but a drain being brought about by other factors. Excess speed is usually a big one, terrain is another. Even stuff like Sentry...

Public charger did not work with my new M3. Almost got stuck

If there was no latch then the handle you used is likely damaged. I have yet to encounter a charger that doesn’t have some form of latch to indicate that the connector is properly inserted.

    Canada - FSD rollout

I’d be happier if it could figure out where my driveway is. 😝 Blows right past it every time thus far.

    Canada - FSD rollout

Anyone else find FSD Beta a little turn signal happy? Anytime a lane gets added or taken away, FSD always signals even if it’s staying in the lane it’s already in. It’s a little disconcerting TBH.

    Canada - FSD rollout

it handled the roundabout on my commute fine. Admittedly it’s not a very big one.

Is 120v enough to precondition battery in Winter?

Best to just try it honestly. I think it’s weird to have the 120 for warming and the L2 for charging, but it’s your setup, do what you like with it. 😜
  36. Vawlkus

    Canada - FSD rollout

Just got my camera upgrade last week, and got into the beta last night. Poking around with it since it’s new to me. I think I have 69.3.1
  37. Vawlkus

Is 120v enough to precondition battery in Winter?

Depends a lot on the temps. Below ~ -15C the battery heater will need the bulk of the plugs power to warm the pack, leaving almost nothing for the charging circuit.

    North American Charging Standard.

Tesla tried the money route, now they’re going the free route. While I am in favor of the idea, it’s a little late now. Smaller EV companies may take advantage of this, but I doubt the larger ones will. BTW, this is just the charging plug, not supercharger access.

    That is flat out unacceptable

Anybody receive the camera upgrade required for FSD in Canada?

Just got the message that the upgrade is available to me now. Booking it in the app went a little weird (local service had a blank ticket), but I’m booked in to get the upgrade done Nov 10th. Since it’s the first one in my area, mobile passed it over to the local service bays.

Tips for submitting tickets via the Tesla App

Dug this back up to add a new trick: After a service appointment, owners can shut off service mode themselves without needing a tech to do it. Hit the Car icon for settings, hit the Wrench icon for service, and at the top of that menu page there will be a new option to deactivate service mode...

Car wash in winter at home [Need advice]

Two things: 1) this is the Canada sub forum. No one here knows Jack about the UK 2) this is a Tesla forum site. None of us know Jack about Merc’s either.

Teslas in Italy, are like unicorns…

Actually, I think that is part of FSD. I recall a video where a Tesla pulled in its mirrors while inching slowly through a tight spot, but I can’t recall when or where that was.

Supercharger Status in Nova Scotia and PEI post hurricane?

Can confirm Enfield is active. I charged there this afternoon, as did several other teslas.

    Canadian Roadtrip

Some of the 50 kWh limitation on the petrocan chargers comes from the limitations on chademo plugs in general, and the Tesla adapter in particular. A couple people with CCS adapters have reported higher than 50 kWh using that, but it’s still hit or miss IMHO.

Delivery of MY LR and/or P regrets ?

I believe Tesla’s service routines were updated to shotgun replace the heat pump system after this issue was identified and the damages assessed. I do not have a heat pump equipped Tesla so I cannot verify if this is the case myself.

    Canadian Roadtrip

With petrocan you can’t always tell if they’re working before you get there. Make sure you have an alternative in range.
