As a matter of interest I’ve ordered an AWD - Originally on 9.6% then changed to 5.9%. My PCP is now cheaper over 3 years than 9.6% over 4 years!! It makes that much difference. I’d think long and hard before ordering a performance at that ridiculous APR.

I had half a dozen visits in the 4 years of my 3P ownership. Each time service was easy to arrange and politely and efficiently carried out. No complaints here.

Not used CastPro above but I have used the Carlink system. Lots of dropouts, crashes and pauses. Sent it back and think I gave it a 2* review. I paid £89 at the time.

How long did you have to wait for the letter. I’ve been waiting for ages. I don’t think anything happens before September.

Well just had the call from Tesla. Apparently the recall had 3 options depending on the wiring of the car. My car required an O ring. That’s what was installed so my repair is now chargeable. 😞

No. Autopilot has nothing to do with this. I was just stating, the day the boot broke I sold the car. Even after transferring it to the new buyer and resetting the car to factory settings the single autopilot strike I had remained with the car.

Thank you. That will be very helpful, I'm sure. Despite two follow-up calls, Tesla didn't respond to me. They have replaced the exact part as per your link. Considering this, even if they carried out the recall in October (which they didn't), the fact they've done it today, six months later...

Yea, that’s the bit they've just fitted. I’m going to give it until 4pm and chase them up. I’ve seen the service notes on their computer and there is no mention of that being replaced.

Off-topic, but what's quite intriguing is that after selling the vehicle to a friend and transferring the car between accounts, as well as performing a full factory reset of the car account, my single autopilot strike still appears on his account. It seems those strikes must be specific to the car.

They think they’ve done the wrong recall before. If they have today’s charge will be free. Will find out in the next couple of hours.

Mine is a manual boot. A few posts up somebody has posted a link to another thread like this. The part the other user had replaced under the recall is exactly the same as what they are replacing on my car now. I will ask to see the manager here before paying.

He said that recall was to replace an O ring in the boot. He said different cars have different harness recalls and mine wasn’t what they are replacing at the moment. Considering the warranty was up at the end of March and I’ve just ordered a new car you’d think there would be some good will!

Well what do you know. I’m at Tesla now and it’s not the boot switch after all, it’s the harness. I asked if this should be covered under the recall and apparently it’s a different part! Cost gone from £150 to £247

2020 out of warranty in March. The day after the warranty ran out I put a service request in for something minor and they wouldn’t wave the charge. I will try and push this on the recall. Typical this happens the day I sell the car. Couldn’t make it up.

I had a home visit a few months ago over something else and the technician said I’ve done the harness recall as well and cleared it from my app. I asked him what it was and he said it’s that piece of plastic there and it was literally a washer. Tesla just replied to my question with… Tesla...

Putting the old puddle lights back makes no difference. Is there a fuse for the boot?

No close button. Manual Boot. I’ll finish this Guinness and put the old puddles in and see if that fixes it.

I changed some 3 year old third-party puddle lights back to the original Tesla ones. I’ve checked them all today and the lights are working as normal. I removed and re-installed each light and all good. I can open the boot by the app, screen and emergency release but not by the normal boot...

Everything else works. The boot opens with the app and screen. How do I do the battery reset? Will that screw anything else up? Tesla want £150 to fit a new boot button. I would be very surprised if that just failed out of the blue.

And here we are 4 weeks and £200 miles later and my offer has gone down to £21,300 from £24,400 and my car is still more than 30 days away from delivery.

For some reason this morning, I can't open my boot from the outside. It will open from the app or the screen in the car without a problem. Never done this before. Any ideas? I did change some puddle lights the other day but unsure how that would affect anything. Selling the car tomorrow...

May have changed now. My 30 days ran out yesterday and now the app shows this. It wants we to do the whole trade in process again.

Like me you are taking a leap of faith because your car will not be delivered within the 30 days period (unless you go for white possibly). My PCP final payment is £23 so if Tesla change their offer from £24.4 to below the PCP I will end up paying them to have my car.

Welcome to the Tesla way! The trade in quote is valid for 7 days. If you place an order it’s valid for 30 days. To give you an example in December I was quoted £27.7. 6 weeks later it was £19. I ordered last month and it was £24.4. That runs out tomorrow. God knows that it will be then so...

I’m 99% certain they will not negotiate. I’ve heard of the 30 day trade in valuation going severely down after ordering and before delivery and the purchaser has just cancelled the order because Tesla reduce to budge even by a penny. I accepted Tesla’s trade in of £24.4K and that expires...

Maybe on the Y but I suspect not on the 3. When I placed my order, delivery was quoted as April May. My order has now updated to late June.

I had to re-apply for CAF after BH said they wouldn’t match the deal. Approval took 10 mins.

They just emailed telling me I’d need to re-apply. I’ve asked them if they can switch me over.
